Jeter times out at midnight. I won’t be around to skip the pick. If you log in as commish go to setup then draft then skip pick.

Timing out after a time out (with no email) kinda stinks, but oh well. My team so far...

QB- Garoppolo (5.11)/Trubisky (7.11)

RB- Cook (1.11)/Freeman (2.06)/Coleman (6.06)/Riddick (12.06)

WR- ARob (3.11)/Garcon (8.06)/Martavis (9.11)/Godwin (10.06)

TE- Graham (4.06)/Burton (11.11)

D- Rams (13.11)

Decent balance but no real strengths, so feeling middle of the pack.

Don't know wtf is going on with the draft.  I've reverted twice, loaded/unloaded rosters, and re-picked only to find the draft back at Sinrman.

Roethlisberger, Ben PIT  -5.13

Watson, Deshaun HOU QB -4.04

Barber, Peyton TBB RB-13.13

Chubb, Nick FA RB-8.04

Lewis, Dion NEP RB-6.04

Miller, Lamar HOU RB-7.13

Beckham, Odell NYG WR-1.13

Gordon, Josh CLE WR-3.13

Thomas, Michael NOS WR-2.04

Wallace, Mike BAL WR-14.04

Brate, Cameron TBB TE-9.13

Kroft, Tyler CIN TE-10.04

McDonald, Vance PIT TE-11.13

Gostkowski, Stephen NEP PK-12.04

Paint by the numbers draft.  Rd 1-3 draft 3 WRs.  Rd 4-5 grab two QBs.  Rd 6-8 fill the RB position.  Rd 9-11 take what's left at TE.  Rd 12 K.

Watson and Big Ben will provide pop at QB.  RB could be dicey.  Miller at 7.13 was a gift (went at 5.2 in draft 1).  The draft and FA will drastically impact this group.  OBJ/Thomas/Gordon should dominate if things go to plan.  Just need to find a couple of guys to cover bye weeks in the later rounds.  TE is a total crap shoot.  They went early and often in this draft so I decided to scoop up value elsewhere.  FA and the draft will also have a big impact on this group.  Grabbed Gostkowski early so I would have the option to go solo.

Finally have drafted a team that has pop and will be fun to follow.

So far, not half bad imo.

Rodgers, Aaron GBP QB 3.01

Taylor, Tyrod BUF QB 10.16

Indications have ty either staying in Buffalo or being traded, presumably he'll start next year. Kind of got caught at the end of the backup QB run. Could have taken a decent guy at the start of the 5th but that wasn't worth while, probably should have taken Dalton or Eli at the 7.01 but really needed a te1. Hope Rodgers stays healthy.

Clement, Corey PHI RB 11.01

Cohen, Tarik CHI RB 6.16

Gurley, Todd LAR RB 1.01

Williams, Joe SFO RB 13.01

Cohen and Clement flashed at times last year, they should be decent receiving backs with a few nice games. San Fran is interesting right now and they seemed to like Joe Williams before the season. Hyde probably moves on so there's a chance he'll get substantial playing time. Pretty strong crew imo.

Davis, Corey TEN WR 4.16

Jones, Marvin DET WR 5.01

Landry, Jarvis MIA WR 2.16

Richardson, Paul SEA WR 9.01

An uninspiring group but with potential. Landry is a ppr machine, Jones should be a good wr2 here and I like Davis a lot. Richardson sound improve. Overall not a great group but good enough.

Hooper, Austin ATL TE 8.16

Njoku, David CLE TE 7.01

Hooper should be solid with a decent floor. Njoku has a lot of Jimmy Graham qualities, but he'll need a QB to succeed.

Tucker, Justin BAL PK 12.16

At this point it's all about ensuring your starting kicker has a job in September. Tucker is one of the top guys.

Just my :2cents: but I think the 1 pick is a bad spot in 16 team leagues. I like my team in w1 more.

Added John Ross, speedster who should make a play or two this year. I don't want him in normal leagues but in best ball I'll take the chance at wr75, after djax, Wallace, Ginn, etc (similar players) are taken.

And chargers defense. Just wanted to be sure to get one defense with playmakers.

5.15 Patrick Mahomes QB 15 KC
6.02 Derek Carr QB17 OAK

7.15 Marshawn Lynch RB 32 OAK
8.02 James White RB34 NE
10.02 Rex Burkhead RB39 FA
12.02 Devontae Booker RB53 DEN

3.15 Stefon Diggs WR21 MIN
4.02 Jordy Nelson WR22 GB
9.15 Chris Hogan WR55 NE
11.15 Rashard Mathews WR64 TEN
14.02 Allen Hurns WR72 JAC
15.15 Jermaine Kearse WR77 NYJ
16.02 Trent Taylor WR78 SF

1.15 Travis Kelce TE1 KC
2.02 Rob Gronkowski TE2 NE

13.15 Robbie Gould PK12 SF

RB's: have since added Booker, rolling the dice CJA gets cut and he becomes RB1.  I do think CJA will get cut, just not sure if DEN will look to upgrade with a Barkley (if he falls) or a Sony/Chubb, etc.  If Booker gets the nod and starter touches, he will be a decent pick in the 12th.

WR's: have since added Mathews, Hurns, Kearse, and Taylor. Think each one brings something to the table. MM seems to like Mathews and at end of year he always seems to put up respectable numbers.  Got him at WR 64 and he finished as WR37. Davis should emerge, but Mathews should still be a target. Hurns is still pretty young and should be decent wherever he ends up, even if that is still in JAC. Missed 6 weeks and finished as WR67…got him at WR72. Kearse had a really nice year and should be a stable part of the WR core in an uncertain Jets group as the other guys have issues with injury or the law. Thought he offered super value at WR77 having finished as WR29 last year. Taylor kind of flew under the radar last year but was probably the 3rd best rookie WR when all was said and done.  Came on to finish as WR68. I see his arrow pointing up as a slot receiver for Grap and an offense on the rise. Could be a nice PPR pick this late.

I have thus far resisted the temptation to join the DST runs.  It's just such a crap shoot.  Last year in WSL1, the Lions were drafted as DST 25 and the Saints as DST 29....they finished DST 5 and DST 6. I'll snag some later maybe. All my dudes currently have jobs except for Burkhead. :banned:

Hey....consider myself kind of a football dude...so thik I should know this....but whats up with some of the FA signings already like Vontea Davis etc.? I didn't think free agency had started yet?  Do certain players have a certain status or something that allow them to sign early? TIA

I don't think anyone can officially sign until March 14. Seems useless to have a "first day of signing season" if players and teams can negotiate early.

I think it's b/c Davis got cut in the prior league year so his FA status carries over. If he was a cap casualty in the 2018 league year he would have to wait until the 14th to sign. Don't quote me on this, though, I didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

The 2017 contracts don't expired until March 14 so clubs were free to extend players under contract with them.  The free agent signing period opened January 1 so any player not under contract on January 1 could be signed.

Kickers and Ds, meh. At least Capers is gone, can't get any worse. For some reason NFL teams have taken to try to cut corners at PK. Hardly any roster locks here any more.

Mayfield I took as a gift from everyone. If 40/400/2 are Maclin's numbers again, I'll be happy with that in the 16th round.

All set to go skill position dumpster diving the last two rounds.

 ROSTER

Darnold, Sam FA QB

Rodgers, Aaron GBP QB

Taylor, Tyrod BUF QB

Without knowing the schedule or whether Tyrod would start next year, I thought it prudent to get 3. Darnold should be among the first to start, at least by the bye weeks. It would have been nice to see him throw at the combine but I doubt it matters much by the draft.

Clement, Corey PHI RB

Cohen, Tarik CHI RB

Gurley, Todd LAR RB

Hines, Nyheim FA RB

Williams, Joe SFO RB

One workhorse, Gurley is the rock here. The other 4 all have some flash/splash potential. I especially like Cohen with Nagy in town.

Davis, Corey TEN WR

Jones, Marvin DET WR

Landry, Jarvis MIA WR

Richardson, Paul SEA WR

Ross, John CIN WR

Samuel, Curtis CAR WR

In PPR Landry is a fine #1, Jones and Davis should be good 2/3s. I think Samuel is much better than he played last year and the opportunity is there. Richardson and Ross bring more flash.

Hooper, Austin ATL TE

Njoku, David CLE TE

Was really tempted to grab a 3rd here with Mr irrelevant. Would have been Mike Gesicki. But I figured the backup kicker was more likely to matter.

Gonzalez, Zane CLE PK

Tucker, Justin BAL PK

Buccaneers, Tampa Bay TBB Def

Chargers, Los Angeles LAC Def

2 kickers, 2 defenses. The kickers will both keep their jobs. Tucker because he's among the best, Zane because he's cheap and good enough.

Overall I like it enough. Solid core group with Rodgers, Gurley, Landry, Jones, and Hooper; with enough potential to win if things break right. I could end up with Cohen, Davis and Njoku on a lot of my teams. Especially best ball.

Dolphins, Miami MIA Def	99.00	-	19.04
Saints, NO NOS Def	150.00	-	17.04

1.04 - Zeke Elliott, DAL (RB4)
In non-PPR - with Bell's potential TC holdout, DJ's injury, and the Rams' regression potential - I'd argue that Zeke should go 1.01 this year, though this is about right for full PPR. Regardless, think he's in line for a monster season.

2.13 - Joe Mixon, CIN (RB16)
Didn't plan on starting RB-RB, but Mixon was the only name on the board that excited me at all. Ability and opportunity to be a 3-down workhorse in an offense that's historically at least on the good side of mediocre.

3.04 - Brandin Cooks, NEP (WR15)
Finished WR15 last year despite being a newcomer to the Belichick system and getting only 114 targets - to be fair, that same system is likely to cap his targets going forward as well, but there's no doubting the offense. Always a threat for the 35-point week that can win immunity by itself.

4.13 - Russell Wilson, SEA (QB5)
I went QB early in WSL1 so was planning to punt it here, but Wilson at QB5? That's just silly. Not only was he 2017's top fantasy scorer, the difference between him and QB2 (Brady) was greater than the difference between QB2 and QB9. It would take a seismic scheme change or injury for him not to return value at this spot.

5.04 - Devin Funchess, CAR (WR30)
Didn't love any of my options in the monent. WR was a need, but I wonder whether Funchess may be miscast as a #1. However, his red zone usage and his age (just 23) combine to provide a decent floor and ceiling.

6.13 - Alex Smith, WAS (QB21)
If I pass on Smith here, there's no point in settling for Dalton or Manning six picks from now - so I'd be basically committing to dumpster diving at QB2. WSL's 20-man rosters make that a viable strategy, but Wilson's playing style is risky enough and Smith a screaming enough value as the 21st QB drafted that I decided to take the bird in hand.

7.04 - Michael Crabtree, OAK (WR35)
Had a year so bad by his standards that he was basically benched in Week 17, yet still finished five spots above where I drafted him. After some initial uncertainty, it seems he'll be back with the Raiders, whose offense should bounce back in 2018. Offers the kind of reliable production that can stave off elimination in a heavy bye week.

8.13 - George Kittle, SF (TE15)
9.04 - Tyler Eifert, FA (TE17)

As I expected coming into the offseason, all non-Garoppolo pieces of the 49er offense are being dramatically underpriced ... until that corrects I'll own one or more shares everywhere. As mid-round TE duos go I could do worse than pairing a mainly situational play in Kittle with a pure talent play in Eifert. After waiting so long at the position I'll need a TE3, but saw enough value in the late rounds in WSL1 to be comfortable with that.

10.13 - Isaiah Crowell, CLE (RB44)
Better than I deserved for waiting so long on RB3. Crow may be a typical two-down banger, but he's averaged 1,000 YFS the past three seasons (his '17 fantasy totals were depressed by just 2 TDs). Still only 25 and a lock to be leaving Cleveland, which is the textbook definition of "nowhere to go but up" situationally.

11.04 - Quincy Enunwa, NYJ (WR61)
My mid-rounds have given me plenty of floor, but no real high-risk / high-reward fliers except for Eifert. Enter Enunwa - a promising young WR with Josh Gordon comps?! whose future is completely up in the air after a neck injury. He could finish WR20 or never play another snap, and neither outcome would surprise me.

12.13 - Wayne Gallman, NYG (RB57)
Thought this was a wasted pick as soon as I made it. Gallman is the best of a bad bunch in NY right now, but that means little as the Giants are almost certain to pursue other options in the draft and/or FA, and their OL is a train wreck anyway. Upside is probably 2017-ish production and downside if they draft Barkley is enormous. No excuse for passing on Lockett to draft this guy (and of course he didn't make it back to me).

13.04 - Mason Crosby, GB (PK7)
Reliable, good offense, job security, zero injury history. Good enough to ride solo, which has become my preferred approach in these leagues.

14.13 - Kenneth Dixon, BAL (RB62)
I thought Dixon was reasonable value when I took him 11.13 in WSL1, so to say I was surprised to see him available here three full rounds later is an understatement. Still a believer in the talent and think he'll play a significant role in '18 no matter what transpires with Collins and Woodhead.

15.04 - Tyrell Williams, LAC (WR76)
Looking back on past SL drafts, a remarkable number of good-value late-rounders were effectively put options on various hype trains. Of course I'm a Mike Williams and Hunter Henry honk - they'd revoke my SP membership card otherwise - but what if the zeitgeist is wrong on them? This pick is likely to be a swing and miss only if Allen plays another full season and both Williams and Henry break out. That's a parlay worth betting against at a pick 200+ cost.

16.13 - Willie Snead, NO (WR81)
Was leaning rookie here, then ran a query. Before Snead's DUI- / injury-riddled trainwreck of a 2017, he averaged 188 points per season. This entire decade, exactly 12 rookie WR seasons have bested that total. Even if Snead (still just 25) only returns to 80% of his previous form, I'm more confident in him than that I can pick the right name out of the thicket of Day 2 draft picks.

17.04 - Saints DST, NO (Def15)
Probably chasing points here as the Saints don't have many playmakers on D, but at least their top-ranked running game will keep opponents off the field for long stretches.

18.13 - Jonnu Smith, TEN (TE35)
A key component of my strategy to wait on TE. The Titans have a new more exciting OC in town, and with Walker another year older I could see him and Smith moving more to a Gates/Henry type of timeshare in an offense with breakout potential.

19.04 - Dolphins DST, MIA (Def31)
They're bad, but they're not this bad. Probably. I hope.

20.13 - Mack Hollins, PHI WR (WR103)
Torrey Smith is a likely cap casualty, which absent any major moves by the cap-strapped Birds would leave Hollins to man the X on a presumptive top-5 offense.

Overall: I drafted in both WSL leagues last year as well. The team I thought was my best top-to-bottom survivor draft ever flamed out in Week 4, while the one I thought was hot garbage made it to December. So I'm probably jinxing myself by saying I like this team better than my WSL1 effort but ... QB leads the pack, RB close behind, and WR should be solid if not spectacular. TE is the obvious wild-card for me. If I can get even 12 games out of Eifert, I should be a threat to hang around a while. If he's broken beyond repair and I have to rely on Kittle and Jonnu Smith at 2PPR, well, things probably won't end well.

Fun times as always and good luck to everyone.

Probably my favorite WSL team thus far. Really nice balance of vets and youth, ceiling and floor. WR might look meh to some but I'm much higher on Richardson and Ross than most. And of course A-Rod can paper over a lot of gaps all by his lonesome.

I do think you're going to regret passing on Gesicki for Zane, though. Even if he stays on the roster, the incremental boost from a PK2 is only about 1.5ppg. That's less than 1 catch per game at the exact position where you have only two unproven commodities to lean on.

Thanks.

You're probably right. But, I went with one kicker last year for my best team. Janikowski. Got booted IIRC because I had no kicker in week 7 where I would have gotten immunity for week 8 (and most of my team was on bye week 8).

So it was a decision based on being burned last year, although probably not rational.

did something like this a few years ago in one of these....and think I actually predicted the winner and most of the final four.....didn't look at this one like that though in terms of "surviving"....just about whose draft I liked the best....for some reason in this league and in WSL1... I am kind of partial to the teams getting Henry at the end of round 3 as their RB2 for some reason...

did this in all of 15 minutes….looking at one roster than the next and so on….struggled with teams in the middle….after further review, they could go many different ways….will comment more about why if there is interest…but also reserve the right to move things around if needed…some hesitation in my own ranking but if RB shakes out, I think I got the goods to hang around…

 ROSTER

Darnold, Sam FA QB

Rodgers, Aaron GBP QB

Taylor, Tyrod BUF QB

Without knowing the schedule or whether Tyrod would start next year, I thought it prudent to get 3. Darnold should be among the first to start, at least by the bye weeks. It would have been nice to see him throw at the combine but I doubt it matters much by the draft.

Clement, Corey PHI RB

Cohen, Tarik CHI RB

Gurley, Todd LAR RB

Hines, Nyheim FA RB

Williams, Joe SFO RB

One workhorse, Gurley is the rock here. The other 4 all have some flash/splash potential. I especially like Cohen with Nagy in town.

Davis, Corey TEN WR

Jones, Marvin DET WR

Landry, Jarvis MIA WR

Richardson, Paul SEA WR

Ross, John CIN WR

Samuel, Curtis CAR WR

In PPR Landry is a fine #1, Jones and Davis should be good 2/3s. I think Samuel is much better than he played last year and the opportunity is there. Richardson and Ross bring more flash.

Hooper, Austin ATL TE

Njoku, David CLE TE

Was really tempted to grab a 3rd here with Mr irrelevant. Would have been Mike Gesicki. But I figured the backup kicker was more likely to matter.

Gonzalez, Zane CLE PK

Tucker, Justin BAL PK

Buccaneers, Tampa Bay TBB Def

Chargers, Los Angeles LAC Def

2 kickers, 2 defenses. The kickers will both keep their jobs. Tucker because he's among the best, Zane because he's cheap and good enough.

Overall I like it enough. Solid core group with Rodgers, Gurley, Landry, Jones, and Hooper; with enough potential to win if things break right. I could end up with Cohen, Davis and Njoku on a lot of my teams. Especially best ball.

Awesome. My team's fate relies pretty heavily on the Browns. :bag:
