ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Chiefs and Rams are "in the final stages of talks" on a trade that will send LCB Marcus Peters to Los Angeles.
The deal is expected to be agreed to as early as Friday, barring an unexpected snag. The trade can't become official until the new league year opens on March 14, but it appears the Rams have their new No. 1 corner. With Trumaine Johnson set for free agency, Peters will likely slide into his spot on defense. No. 2 CB Kayvon Webster is still recovering from a late-season Achilles' tear. Peters irked many in the Chiefs' organization at times, but there's no denying he's a top 5-10 corner and is first among all cornerbacks in interceptions (19) since entering the league in 2015. Peters has two more years of team control on his rookie contract.

Sounds as though he was completely unmanageable. Can’t see trading a playmaker like him on that contract otherwise.

Peters is one of those dudes that is a playmaker. He also wants to win - badly. And when they don't win he acts like a petulant baby. And he did that alot this past year. In my opinion, part of the reason he did that is because Bob Sutton is a complete moron, and Peters knew Sutton did not put that defense in the best position to win. And it beared fruit during that playoff game.
So Peters pouted and just didn't give a damn. Certainly not professional behavior at all. And Wade Phillips will probably turn him into an All-Pro with that defense. But if the Rams start losing, watch out.
