I just thought I’d see if anyone is watching this. The small town Southern atmosphere seems very relatable to me. The mystery is well packed and oh yeah Amy  Adams. Also NO native Jackie Clarkson.

Was a great book - watched the first two episodes and will follow it out to the end.  Little slow at time, but true to the book from my recollection.

It is slow moving but it is well done.  It provides an in depth look at the characters and the small town social fabric. This is the advantage of a limited series. Not trying to shoehorn everything into a two hour movie. But also reaching resolution and avoiding the hackneyed plots used to keep an ongoing series in production.

Ten episodes allows the  nurturing of the two mysteries related to the serial murders and the origins of the trauma Amy Adams is experiencing. Are they intertwined?

I’m in after 1 ep...the young actress looks just like AA....and Elizabeth Perkins is lookin...not bad.

My ex and I stayed at a hotel near the Hustler store on Sunset Blvd on our first visit to LA. We walked in and Elizabeth Perkins was in there with a handful of porn dvds. I wanted to say that I loved her in Weeds, but it would have been a bit awkward.

Watching.   It is really slow moving.  Since it is only a limited series I am too far in to stop.  Hopefully it picks the pace up a bit.

While watching I’m not sure if I like or don’t like the disjointed pieces in time, but as it becomes clear what they are as they are unveiled I think it’s pretty cool story telling. This is a beautiful smart woman, she has looks, money and brains, and on the inside she is a jumbled box of puzzle pieces. Apparently she went through something brutal and there appears to be an open question of her blame or involvement in it. She appears to be investigating her own life as much as the murders right now. On the whole good stuff IMO.

I am loving all of the subliminal stuff they are sticking in this show. I am sure I am missing some stuff but what I catch is crazy. I am thinking I could wast a ton of time looking at screen shots from this show.

Watching and intrigued though a little confused too.

Hooked by the music and coincidentally Led Zeppelin II is being discussed in the rock thread.

I really want to like this and will keep watching because I like crime dramas, but I'm not feeling this one yet. Even after reading the explanation about the words, some of which I caught while watching, I still don't get how it is adding to the storytelling other than a gimmick. I usually don't mind non-linear storytelling, but I'm having a hard time distinguishing past events with current ones which is really throwing me off. I think the hallucinations or visions further muddle things. "Fix" was a jumbled mess IMO. I didn't read the book, so maybe the words and jumping around make more sense in that context. Self mutilation and alcoholism really repulse me, so there's that too. The music is great.

Two episodes in and I love it.  Adams is fantastic.  Won't be checking in here, want to avoid spoilers.

The end to that finale gave me legit goose bumps. I guessed correct on who the killer was but damn I did not see it going down like that. Great show.

Same here. Was saying it for awhile but was doubting myself by the end.  I was clapping at the end because it was just so damn awesome.  Fantastic series.  Wish I had read the book.

Same here. Knew it was coming but still got me. Good ending after a very slow burn.

How’d the detective and her boss find out? Did Amma actually leave the house?

I think it’s pretty clear Amma didn’t tell. She was into the sickness routine as much as Adora, plus she certainly didn’t want cops snooping around much less let Keane off the hook.

I think Curry showing up is a change from the book. The best I can figure he must have gotten worried after Camille told him Adora did it, then not hearing from her, and he contacted Richard, who had been turned away at the door and had the same suspicion. It obviously takes supposition from the viewer because they don’t explain it.

Yeah I guess that makes sense. There was a line where curry said he wasn’t getting very far trying to convince the chief that something was wrong but that the editor came in and was very persuasive.

I'm not clear on everything, even after the big reveal. Was attention whore Natalie in on it somehow? Or Amma's other roller-friends?

I don't think Natalie was (I thought for a second she was Adora's accomplice and the one pulling the teeth when she visited the prison), but in the quick flash of scenes of Amma killing during the credits it does look like the two roller girls were involved

This is correct.
