It wasn't their fault. His overthruster was garbage.Whorfin. The Hong Kong Cavaliers really screwed him over.

constantly stretching and reinventing himself as an actor. huge fan.Nick Vermeil said:Voted Garp. Love him in that. Love him in general. We could use more Lithgow in life.
Agreed. I never watched it either, but If you counted the minutes, I've seen Lithgow in more 3rd Rock promos in my life than in everything else I've seen him in combined.Cjw_55106 said:Never watched a second of 3rd Rock, but that's what I voted for.
Loved him in Dexter.
Liked the one where he first learns about tipping in restaurants. Starts out with a stack of singles in front of him and then pulls them off one by one every time the waiter makes a mistake.3rd Rock
His role on Dexter should be listed as well.Tough call, but I went with Duck from 3rd Rock from the Sun
The smart person's choiceVoted Garp. Love him in that. Love him in general. We could use more Lithgow in life.
I can think of at least 4 roles (Garp, Footloose, Banzai, Dexter) that I enjoyed more, but as far as signature role, still got to go with 3rd RockHis role on Dexter should be listed as well.
Lithgow was a small part of that movie but I thought he was great. Particularly loved the part where he has kind of a breakdown and admits that his other family is a total mess. His role as the estranged father in "This is Forty". He and Albert Brooks have a great scene where they talk about how much Surgeons make.
