WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, KC (1 Viewer)

Yeah, won't be a physical issue. I meant more that at USF as a 23 year old he was just average in terms of offensive production. It took him untill 23 to breakout as a college player. That's concerning to me. For such a big, fast and fluid athlete, why did it take so long? Why wasn't he a bigger part of the USF offense?
There's an excuse somewheres lol.

You make valid points which explain why he fell to the 5th round. Sometimes those guys work out though. Why did AB fall to the 5th? (Not intending to compare them)

It's a game of opportunity. At this level, everyone is good, talented, and athletic (except for Allison, ha! I had to...). So it comes down to who has the opportunities and who takes full advantages of those.

Moore had the opportunity in training camp and he dropped it, quite literally. Next man up. MVS has, so far, done a fantastic job with his opportunities. And when you're playing with Rodgers, all you need is to keep earning those opportunities to be fantasy gold.

"Any time he went deep," tailback Marlon Mack said, "he was 2 feet away from the DB and catching the ball."

This is what I see in GB

Do you feel that way in Redraft?
I'm 50/50 in redraft.

2 months ago I'd say one of these rookies was going to out-play Allison at some point during the first half of the season and be starting. My money was on Moore.

1 month ago I'd say Allison has the job locked up for 2018

Today I'd say it's a 50/50 chance that MVS continues to earn more looks, especially because his speed is something that GB is missing big time. If he keeps it up I wouldn't be surprised if he even earned some playing time from Randall Cobb, or they had specific WR sets where he was in over Allison/Cobb.

He is at the point where he requires an injury to earn some playing time, and that's exactly what's happened, and he's done really well. So at this point we don't know if he's earned more targets/playing time or if they will continue to ease him in slowly. He's a play maker, and that's what this offense needs. If I had a deep bench I'd stash him, but my redraft is very short benches so he remains on our WW. In fact, Cobb was released, which was weird. Too bad I don't have roster room.

For sure. There’s always good players who slip through the cracks. My best MSV comp is Tyrell Williams.

As for Brown, it was a combo of small school, small player at 5-10, 186 and a 4.56 40.

Not sure if you guys are aware of the change in philosophy at USF when Charlie Strong took over for Willie Taggart. They went crazy run heavy. There were limited opportunities because of coaching, not skill level.

Interesting stat.  In week 4 MVS played 54 out of 76 snaps in the slot.  In week 5 again he played most of the snaps in the slot.  Could it be that Rodgers now has a whole new element to his arsenal?   A 6’4 WR with a 4.37 40yard dash.  You all have heard of Nayheim Hines?  The fastest RB combine with a 4.38 40yard dash.  Uh yeah MVS is faster.  Except out of the slot he goes against #2 #3 corners and safeties. He’s going to win tons of matchups including lobs in the redzone.  Cobb’s trade rumors..swampy. Injured.  FA next year.

BUY MVS

I have top waiver priority in our dynasty league and have been holding it for what seems like forever. Is this guy that kind of grab? Waivers are very thin and there just hasn't been anything worthwhile to use it on yet.

Does this reset in 2019 or would you carry this top spot until you use it?

I'm surprised MVS is on waivers and I can see how you're seriously considering grabbing him. Consider this: Cobb is a FA after this year and GB doesn't seem like they want to bring him back. They are impressed with Allison and MVS is showing good signs of being a hit. MVS will at least assume the role he had last week and will have this week (I believe Cobb is likely out... I might be wrong). That can be a solid 6-10 targets a game. And then there's always the possibility of passing up Allison.

I am not sure who else you'd be saving that spot for, especially if you have deep rosters and WW is thin.

Opportunity to catch passes from Rodgers without much standing in his way after this year. Great upside.

Plus you can't take it with you, the waiver priority that is.

 There is no way Packers would retain Cobb and he most certainly will leave after this season.  Packers have recently signed Rodgers a mega contract extension as well as other FAs (i.e. Jimmy Graham) in recent off-seasons.  So, one can see why Packers' new GM went hard on late rookie drafts in Moore, ESB, and MVS.

Geronimo was downgraded to doubtful. Might be time to knock the dust off this redraft wagon and fire it up again.

Isn't Cobb questionable too?

Damn. This could be a gift. Looking like my S. Diggs looking extremely iffy. In a potential shootout, where BB probably takes away D. Adams with Gilmore, this guy could get a ton of good looks.

Allison is missing his chance. likely he comes back and is lost in the shuffle.

This wagon needs is about to leave full steam. all aboard

Interesting, I need to start one of Beasley, Traq Smith, or MVS in ppr.  As of now going with T Smith.  Will monitor closely, if Cobb is out will go MVS.

I dropped Allison for him.  It looks like he is going to out perform some household names in the coming weeks, with or without hyphens.  I like his chances Sunday night as GB will most likely have more success through the air than on the ground, and the Steelers should try to run more than pass on the Ravens.

Been trying to work him onto my team.  Especially with the bye week taking OBJ and Boyd to my bench.

Right now still holding on Baldwin, Ridley, and DJ Moore over him.

The exact same move I made, from here on out I believe he'll be the #2 WR. Cobb can't stay healthy, Allison has had a concussion, hammy injury and now a groin injury.  Rogers has stated he's impressed with him thus far and MVS is earning his trust, he's worked out with Randy Moss, puts in the time to study the play book and never makes the same mistake twice.

Bummed I missed on this guy, have a good feeling about him. Just couldn’t sort out the depth chart of who would be next up for the young guys on the roster.

Harris wrns against believing in last weeks stat line.  He said two of those targets were uncatchable throw aways by Rodgers.  He's good with Allison out this week

I got lucky and he was dropped in both of my dynasty leagues. I was quiet about him and just patient. I still own J'Mon Moore in both, and in one of the leagues I had ESB rostered (just sold)... wanted the guy who emerged no matter what, ha! MVS had the least amount of news in the preseason. I was hearing a lot of great things about him

From what I hear Moore is progressing well this year, so I am holding until next season to see how it shakes out.

GB is likely drafting a WR next year, but MVS is going to be starting

E. St. Brown. 4.48 speed. catches everything. May even pass up MVS. I own both now. Cobb is gone after this year and Geronimo is a ham & egg #4 at best. I'll have the #2 and #4 with Rodgers throwing to them and if Davante goes down I'll have the new Nelson/Cobb TD a week duo.

Been trying to work him onto my team.  Especially with the bye week taking OBJ and Boyd to my bench.

Same for me.... but Will Fuller opened a spot for me to grab MVS as WR5. I like the schedule for him and see a value in more than just Dynasty format. Keeper value is climbing too so he has merit in my main $ league (12 team ppr keep 3 + 1 Rookie)

I am torn between MVS & Tre’Quan Smith as WR4 this week (OBJ on bye).  Cooks, Jo Brown & Sanders are locks...

currently starting over Lockett. that may change but I feel like Locketts luck in the endzone is going to run out eventually, and MVS stands to see a lot of targets

Have you considered moving/dropping Boyd?

Picked up DJ Moore this week. Now debating Moore vs. MVS.

Think I'm holding Moore.

Big question is, how much potential is there for MVS to lock down the #2 WR role with Cobb still hanging around, a healthy Allison rebounding, and that other guy whose name I can't pronounce in the mix? Rodgers will throw to anyone.

Gotta hold on Boyd personally. My question is Ridley or MVS? Allison doubtful to prolly out. Cobb prolly plays a tad injured and catches a few balls and then there's MVS. Tall, athletic, learning, has produced - is a top 3-4 target for Rodgers and NE will not focus on him.

Play MVS in the Flex or Ridley is my decision. Or Cobb?

The dirty birds are on the road vs the skins d that added haha. I feel a few monster julio games where their isn’t much left for others coming, as is the rookie wall. More of a ros response I know, but MVS shouldn’t have to worry about any of those things. I personally would play the guy in a high profile TV game with little competition for touches and a great Qb.

I hear ya on that one... trying to work out a 2-1 trade (Cooks & Collins for J White), which opens the door for MVS or Cobb? Cobb seems to be rated higher by most everyone except Bloom. Bloom kinda likes MVS. MVS or Cobb?

It’s all compelling...just don’t know ros if I want to drop Ridley for MVS. That’s what it comes down to with me.

Understandable.  Parting ways with Ridley vs Allison are two different things, even for redraft.  That’s why I suggested Boyd, because the Bengals will find new ways to disappoint.

Boyd has been too good and with Green now seeing a foot specialist there is no way.

ive got MVS selected and ready to drop Moore (have them pretty close in ranking) and may pull the trigger to have a backup plan if Michel can’t go as my flex

Was not aware that Green was that bad off. Foot injuries scare me in any sport.  Good Luck today sho nuff.

Dude seriously?  I have Boyd on several teams - no way I would drop him let alone not flex him every week.  What's this all about?
In response to his wideout choices, I was merely suggesting something  I would myself consider. Boyd is a fine wideout.  The Bengals rarely finish strong and being down and having to throw to a guy that will possibly be receiving the defenses best players?  It’s not a stretch.

I did end up dropping Moore for MVS. MVS in my flex now but could replace with Michel.  I’d consider him over Baldwin if I knew Michel would play.
