The Gridiron Premiere Relegation League (GPRL) is looking for 5 experienced active fantasy football owners who are looking to challenge themselves by taking over an orphan team in a demanding league.
The GPRL is a 48 team league that is in the process of expanding to 80 teams with the ultimate goal of moving to 96 next offseason. Don’t worry we aren’t that deep as we will have 5 copies of every player (6 after next offseason’s expansion). So this plays like a 16 team league.
GPRL is a standard PPR league on offense, but we start a full defense of 11 IDP starters which requires owners to start atleast 1 DT, 1 DE, 1 CB, 1 S. DT scoring is adjusted to help balance the position.
The big difference for the GPRL is that we break the league into 3 tiers. Teams will only play against opponents within their tier, but after weeks 5 and 10 of the season and then once in the offseason the top teams within a tier move up while the bottom teams move down and schedules are updated to reflect this change. At the end of the season each tier has its own playoffs and prizes are awarded to the winner of each tier.
Entry fee is $50 per season and while the overall winner gets a nice sized pot there are interesting payout for a variety of other events so even rebuilding teams have a chance to pocket some cash. Different payouts include but are not limited to Weekly High Score, Survivor Game, Pick’em Contest, and NFL Playoff Contest. We even have offseason contests such as guessing the highest Free Agent Contract and predicting the NFL draft.

The next 4 teams are all involved in their startup drafts so if you hurry you can have more control over their rosters. After the startup draft finishes these teams will have their rookie drafts as well. These teams won’t start in a tier this year, but after the first 5 weeks based on their records they will be merged into existing tiers.
