OK here are the rules:

1) You get 7 bets per week, Monday through Sunday, starting this Monday, Oct 29, and ending on the Super Bowl. The date of the event determines which week the bet counts for, not the week that it's placed. So if  you've made your 7 bets by Sunday, you can still bet on Monday Night Football for the following Monday.

2) Every underdog bet you're risking 1u to win ___, every favorite bet you're betting ____ to win 1u. So if you bet Alabama -2000, you win 1u if they win, and you lose 20u  if they lose. Similarly, if you bet the Suns at +550 to beat Milwaukee, you lose 1u if they lose, and you win 5.5u if they win.

3) No props, parlays, teasers. You can bet sides, totals, and sides/total for halves/periods/quarters. Any sport just so long as it's offered at a legitimate sportsbook. If you can post which book you use, that would be helpful.

4) Results will be tracked on a fancy-### spreadsheet that @hagmania made. Results will be recorded probably by me and @hagmania, i guess?

5) Contest is free, and open to everyone, but side-action is encouraged. This whole thing got started when gussy was going to have a wager-off with...uhh, nm.

6) Please put your picks in bold, and do not edit any posts that have a pick in them, just to make everyone's lives easy.

I'm assuming using 5Dimes Reduced Juice is kinda shady, so I'll use their regular juice line:

New England Patriots -13.5 -110 (10/29 at Bills). 5Dimes

The entire reason for this thread won't be back for a while.....

So what are the rules on posting similar plays? For example,  it would be poor form for me to post NE -13.5 right after @facook did or can we assume that I was likely to play that anyway... that is just an example.. not playing NE - 13.5 ... yet....

i would say it would go along with an honor system. i started off little cold, but have been doing well lately. need to remember to keep coming back to this thread, but i could give this a run.

Feel like i should make a play if i post anything. Looking a bit ahead, but:

San Francisco -3 (11/1)

I’m pretty square and not sure I can keep up with this so I’ll probably just follow along and tail whoever seems to be doing good.  Well see though

I agree mo, honor system.  I mean, I've certainly made plays based on handicapping others have done in the wagering thread.  I'd think we all have.  But I'm not going to blindly tail anyone.  So I will figure that anyone who posts like plays is only doing so cause they believe it in.  What's more, I'd guess that most of us are actually betting these, not just posting fake plays.  To me that inherent risk lends credibility to the motives behind anyone's plays.

Also AB, I saw somewhere he's gone again.  Do we know for how long?

1H - Trailblazers / Pacers O105, -110
76ers -10, -145

Q1 - Kings / Heat U58, -105

STU's Chef Specials

7 picks for him tonight...he sent them to me via Twitter.  ... he is banned for 10 (?) weeks

He said he would send more picks later

I'm in the middle of something similar with my gb. there is an app called The Action Network that allows you to make picks, and also an option to invite and follow friends. Makes this kind of contest very easy.
