Amy Klobuchar for President 2020 (2 Viewers)

You can't even looked at the crisis and not know his name if you take this seriously at all.

And it's clear her and Steyer don't.

Yeah, that's Jeopardy. Basic knowledge of world leaders as relates to foreign policy regarding our country isn't Jeopardy, it's called being informed at a basic level on the issue. Clearly, she has absolutely no ####### idea about the border crisis or she would know, much like informed voters do.
I'm disappointed she was not aware. I'm similarly disappointed how anyone looks at that gaffe and screams bridge too far. If immigration is your #1 priority...maybe (if I squint hard enough). Still strikes me as reaching, but I have spent my whole life in a white suburban bubble in Ohio. I dont know anything about immigration beyond what I have sought out on my own.

I'm just saying if it's a contest whereby Democrats want to get elected, one can reasonably be assured that Trump at least knows his name.

Maybe my assumption is a bridge too far, too, though. Maybe he doesn't.

and Bernie's ceiling is capped all the way to the convention.
Bernie doesn't need much more than what he has already though.

Still think he picks up more of the black vote going forward and a little more of the progressive vote, as some of the Warren supporters give up.  I don't think he needs much more than that as I I don't see any of these moderates breaking away from the pack.  They will continue to split their votes.

The 15% viability rule is going to help Sanders in this regard.  If the votes are sufficiently split so that lots of candidates don't reach 15%, It's possible for Bernie to win something like 30% of the vote but over 50% of the delegates.

not a good look at the end ...she had to step around Pete and Joe as she quickly walked off the stage without talking to anyone

Agreed. Lost her cool several times.  If she is rattled this easily by Pete I would hate to see her against Trump.  Too bad cause I like her.
Pete put her on a leash and walked her like a dog last night.  She had nothing for him.  And yeah being on the border committee and "forgetting" the pres of Mexico's name is a pretty big deal.

Her indignation over Buttigieg's grilling of her about Mexico with a "We're not all perfect, Pete" was awful. She's running for president, not student council. Nobody expects you to be anything but perfect, Amy K.
Yes ans she had to know this was coming.   All she had to do was admit she had a brain fart, as we all do from time to time, but she is well aware of who the president is and then discuss her experience with Mexico.   Instead she became unglued

It’s funny you say that.  Her reactions reminded me of Reese Witherspoon in Election.  Lol.

Elena has handled it poorly all the way around. I’m not impressed in the slightest.

That was so unbelievably cringe worthy. Her advisors must have been horrified.

This

I was real-time thinking “just say you had a brain fart”....

There's a helluva comedy sketch to be written extrapolating this a little further....
Rachel Dratch does a very good impression, though she doesn't have a lot to work with because she is crammed into a sketch with all the other candidates. McKinnon, David and Sudeikis take up most of the oxygen.

Whoever does her voice on Our Cartoon President really taps into Klobuchar's rage, as she is threatening violence in every episode.

not about her own performance.  that’s on her.  although she’s by far still my favorite.  about the inability for a moderate to compete in a primary in this system.
What about the system hurts the moderates? Do you mean the Democratic system or America's system of choosing a candidate from two parties?

For me, it's that. Although maybe this splintering will finally pave the way for the 3 party system (I think) we desperately need. With hind sight, I was in denial throughout the entire last decade. There are less of us in the middle than I thought there was...but there is substantially more than the pictures the left and the right paint. We're just not a profitable segment of the population, so we go ignored.

Klobuchar rally in Minnesota canceled amid protests

The protesters were challenging her for her history as a prosecutor.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar canceled a rally in her home state Sunday night as several dozen protesters chanted “Black Lives Matter,” “Klobuchar has got to go” and “Free Myon” — referencing the case of a black teenager convicted of murder after a flawed police investigation.

According to videos that emerged on social media, the senator’s rally was set in St. Louis Park, Minn., at a local high school. WCCO-CBS Minnesota reported that the protesters made their way into the rally and onstage, where they continued chanting. After a 40-minute delay, the rally was canceled.

A campaign spokesperson told the media: “The campaign offered a meeting with the senator if they [protesters] would leave the stage after being onstage for more than an hour. After the group initially agreed, they backed out of the agreement and we are canceling the event.”

[...]

The senator has particularly had to answer for the conviction of Myon Burrell, who was convicted of a 2002 death of a black girl killed by a stray bullet while doing homework. Burrell was sentenced to life in prison. At the time, Klobuchar served as Hennepin County’s top attorney.

But an Associated Press investigation later revealed no gun, fingerprints or DNA were recovered, and there were questionable police tactics used in the case.

Over the past month, Klobuchar has said that all new information should be reviewed and immediately brought forward.

“Of course what we know now was not the same as what we knew then. And I have always been an advocate for criminal justice reform. That was a tough job,” she said on ABC in February.

Amy is out and endorsing Biden. I'm a little sad she won't get her MN win, but another one doing the honorable thing.

(oops...well. I almost beat Phil!)

MN should be interesting because, since she was leading, there are a lot of votes up for grabs. Don't know if they have early voting.

It is kind of funny that Bernie supporters when there was 100 candidates was all mad about mudding up the field and watering it down and they all need to leave.  Now that they are leaving they are mad that they aren't fighting longer and trying to win.   I mean I get it since most of them are supporting Biden but come on at least admit it.

I liked her of all the "in the middle" candidates.  But I don't think she would have had a chance against Trump

I don't know what you're talking about, maybe it's some Bernie Bro thing on twitter.  I haven't seen either of those reactions from Bernie fans at FBGs.

The Minnesota chapter of BLM seems pretty awful.  They threatened to block off the Twin Cities Marathon a few years back somewhere after the 20 mile mark.

It is mostly Twitter.  The more hardcore of them are wanting them to stay in the fight because they realize that 4 moderates,  1 socialist, and 1 whatever Bloomberg  is is  better than 1 of each and the other supporting the moderate

Yeah, I think it was going to be close, but I would have bet on Bernie winning. He's a LOT more popular than Amy in the Twin Cities, and that's where the bulk of votes are going to come from in a Dem primary.

Well, that would make it easier. It was the only reason I thought she'd be in til Wednesday.
Same, I thought for sure she'd stick it out through tomorrow if only to lock up some delegates from Bernie. We do have early voting though, so she'll probably get some anyways.
