Here were the salary cap hits for SB winning QBs since 2000 and their cap hit ranking . . .

2017 - Wentz ($6M - 28), Foles ($1.6M - 47)
2016 - Brady ($13.7M - 18)
2015 - PManning ($17.5M - 6)
2014 - Brady ($14.8  - 11)
2013 - Wilson ($680K - 52)
2012 - Flacco ($8M - 16)
2011 - EManning ($14.1M - 4)
2010 - Rodgers ($6.5M - 23)
2009 - Brees ($10.3M - 15)
2008 - Roethilisberger ($8.2M - 14)
2007 - EManning ($11.7M - 4)
2006 - PManning ($8.5M - 7)
2005 - Roethlisberger ($4.2M - 16)
2004 - Brady ($5M - 11)
2003 - Brady ($3.3M - 18)
2002 - BJohnson ($6.8M - 3)
2001 - Brady ($310K - 37)
2000 - Dilfer ($1M - 26)

Other than the Mannings, generally speaking, teams very few teams with Top 10 cap hits for QBs have won the SB in recent years.

At this stage entering the playoffs, salaries and cap hits don't matter, but for ha-ha's here are the QB cap hits for the remaining teams.

BAL - Flacco ($24.8M - 4), Jackson ($1.7M - 45)
IND - Luck ($24.4M - 5)
NOS - Brees ($24M - 6)
SEA - Wilson ($23.8M - 8 )
NEP - Brady ($22M - 11)
LAC - Rivers ($22M - 11)
PHI - Foles ($13.6M - 20, Wentz ($7.2M - 27)
LAR - Goff ($7.6M - 26)
CHI - Trubisky ($6.6M - 28)
KCC - Mahomes ($3.7M - 34)
HOU - Watson ($3.1M - 38)
DAL - Prescott ($725K - 55)

We'll have to see if the trend of the most costly QB's falling short continues this year.

Someone sent me a text that none of the top 6 paid qbs this year are in the playoffs. Salary cap hits do affect the 53 man roster.
