*Official 2019 Philadelphia Eagles Thread* - Season's over; Go Away Now... (6 Viewers)

Honestly, I think Howie should just wait until the dust dies down from the first wave of FA and sign the best name left on the cheap. One of Ingram / Coleman / Yeldon / Ware / Johnson will probably get $5M a season and one will get $1.7M, and I don't think any of them are 3x better than any other.
Ware is interesting because of the connection with Pederson.

After watching where the money is going I’m actually afraid they only draft RB’s and if they sign someone it will be a lesser known guy or one that’s been on FA a while who we didn’t expect. Just please don’t bring back Sproles.
Yeah I don't want Sproles back at all. he was not that good last year and he literally took a roster spot away but I prefer not to spend big on RB do to their shelf life in the league. I'm fine spending a little on Ingram or Coleman but I'd rather go use that 1st or 2nd on a Back like Bennie Snell or someone else.

So who's our new MLB Boys? Is The Axe Man available to play still? Per Rapsheet

#Eagles standout ILB Jordan Hicks intends to sign with the #AZCardinals on 4-year deal worth $36M with $12M to sign, source said. $20M guaranteed.

What a hell of a LB core if they stay healthy with Former Temple Star Hassan Reddick and Now T Sizzle and Hicks.

I don't want them to overpay either, but IMO Ingram is in a tier above any of the others you listed.

Was higher on Coleman before he got the starting gig last year and was mostly unimpressive.

Coleman is a guy who can't start as a bell cow he's a good change of pace guy but he's got the talent to take a game over with his playmaking ability

Do you think they will use Josh Adams 1st & 2nd Down & Coleman (if signed) for 3rd & Passing?

Adams did not show good GL/SY skill, IIRC.  Limited use & limited role, but I liked the ND kid.

I would love for Ingram to be an Eagle since Latv Murray signed with NOS.

You're probably right but it's a moot point since Murray got 4/$14.4M since I wrote my post. If that's the case Ingram could (and maybe should) be looking at, what, 4/$25M? That'd be top-10 RB money. No thanks.

latavius murray is certainly a decent back, but he seems to get paid a decent amount for not all that much production.  I guess he fits in there well enough to play the complementary role to AK.

Yea good for Hicks. He was rarely healthy though here. Couldn't bring him back at that number. Next up. Got to hit on an LB in the draft. Probably 2nd round.

I have seen enough of Adams to know he's nothing special.  I hope they move on from him.

Agreed. I know the wise say not to spend a 1 on a RB but if we get a 3-down RB we would be in great shape IMO.
Problem with this is that Doug doesn't use a 3-down RB, he uses 3 different guys.

Basically my only qualm with Doug is how he uses the running backs. IMO you need to give someone a majority of touches. No one gets in a rhythm.

That’s the direction I was going in too. From a talent standpoint who’s the best RB Doug has had to work with since he’s been here?

hearing rumors of bell to buffalo and mccoy finding his way back to us.  probably nothing but who knows
OMG.  Poor Bills fans. They keep getting teased with experts naming star players possibly coming their way.  And they end up with Frank Gore. I almost hope this is true just so they don't have to go through it again.

This feels like his camp floating that out there for the jets to get scared and up their offer. The jets just seems too perfect for Bell not to sign there.

Adams is really good 1st and 2nd. My Cousin is a Coach at Council Rock South and played Josh's CB team I believe his Fr or So year. Dude was out running and bullying SRs on my cousins squad but he was doing it to everyone in the state. He could be a Bell cow back possible as he has the size and ability to do it. Corey Clement once healthy should be the 3rd down RB because he can carry it if needed and he's underrated as a pass catcher since he didn't do a lot of that in Wisconsin. Coleman would be the change of pace or hot hand type back. If he's hot you keep letting him go. I think Coleman takes some TOTS away from CC but if I was Pederson Id have 1st/2nd Adams right now Coleman as a change of pace 3rd Down passing and Corey Clement in the filler 3rd down specialist role who could start if something were to happen to Adams.

Prob won't happen.  Even if it did I still want them to get a fa or draft another rb.
I just don't see the guy the type of player Doug and Howie want on the team. He's no where close to the guy he was when he first came. I think these are just rumors from Bell's camp or Maybe even Shady's as he seems to want to leave Buff

that john brown contract is similar but  seems a little more favorable than djax.  wouldn't have minded that instead.  little more upside.
I like Brown but Djax knows the system already having played here when Andy and Doug were both here where it'd be all new to Brown. Also I was reading the Eagles traded for DeSean instead of signing him after being cut for Comp reasons

I think they should draft a RB and ease them in with Clement getting 60% of the touches. I don’t think they allow any of these guys to really get going. They are featured for a few weeks and then they move on.

And I still can’t believe they gave Desean $13 million. TB wouldn’t give him $10.

Per Schefty here's what they got for the Prima Donna

Here are the trade terms: Giants recieve a first-round pick in 2019 (No. 17 overall), the Browns' second third-round pick this year and S Jabril Peppers, source tells ESPN. Browns get Odell Beckham Jr.

Makes me wonder if they're tanking for Tua (or Herbert or Fromm) in 2020.

Why give up one of the top three wrs right now?  I don't get it
My guess is there was a lot of behind the scenes/off field issues with OBJ and they were just done with it. Either way That's a lot of egos to feed in Cleveland. Hunt, Baker, Landry and OBJ? If things go south thats a powder keg that will be blowing up
