The blanket statement I was replying to did not break out WR/RB but rated conservative franchises as the argument.Big difference between where a WR goes and a RB goes. Any ham & egger QB can hand off. There are always top of the line WRs that end up in bad places & Tenn is a bad place. It doesn't get fixed easily either. Jax was the same but now they have 2 QBs that can throw the ball. Took years to get one after the Bortles disaster.
I would still put talent and opportunity over situation any day of the week even when drafting a WR to what 'appears' to be a conservative franchise.
What was the situation for Andre Johnson faced when he was drafted in Houston? David Carr at QB? Or the ultimate place to die when Detroit took Calvin Johnson where two other top picks figuratively died?
Their are plenty of examples where a top prospect went to a 'great' situation and didn't work out. Look at draft history where most prospects don't succeed but the cream always rises to the top even in what 'appears' to be a bad situation.
