The blanket statement I was replying to did not break out WR/RB but rated conservative franchises as the argument.

I would still put talent and opportunity over situation any day of the week even when drafting a WR to what 'appears' to be a conservative franchise.  

What was the situation for Andre Johnson faced when he was drafted in Houston?  David Carr at QB?  Or the ultimate place to die when Detroit took Calvin Johnson where two other top picks figuratively died? 

Their are plenty of examples where a top prospect went to a 'great' situation and didn't work out.  Look at draft history where most prospects don't succeed but the cream always rises to the top even in what 'appears' to be a bad situation.

Chuba Hubbard broke Barry Sanders rushing record against highly ranked opponents.

Through 5 games, he has 938 rush yards and 10 TDs. He has shown out in a big way against ranked schools such as Kansas State (296 yards), and Texas (121 yards). The 296 yards against KSU broke Barry Sanders’ record for yards against a ranked opponent. He currently leads all of NCAA with rushing attempts and rushing yards on the season. He has 311 more yards than the 2nd leading rush (AJ Dillon).

The WRs are even more insane. I think 10 to 12 will be picked in the top 3 rounds, with 3 or 4 in the top 25.

Michael Casagrande of AL.com shared that Alabama junior QB Tua Tagovailoa has not thrown an interception in 167 passes, the longest active streak in the FBS.

Tagovailoa's INT-less streak dates all the way back to last year's National Championship. Tagovailoa (6'1/218) did get picked off in that game, but from the tail end of that matchup until now, the presumptive No.1 pick has not been intercepted. Alabama have three non-elite defenses next up on the docket in Texas A&M, Tennessee, and Arkansas, so Tagovailoa very well could keep the streak alive for a while. Tagovailoa has 23 passing touchdowns against zero interceptions for the season.

Still, as Brugler notes, the tape has been impressive. "What Burrow has done over the first five games has been terrific, but his performance and film vs. Florida, Auburn and Alabama (three teams with NFL-level rushers and defensive backs) will be a critical factor in his NFL evaluation, " he writes. LSU junior WR Justin Jefferson caught 10 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 42-28 win over Florida.

The over-sized slot receiver shined again on Saturday night. Against a tough Florida secondary, Jefferson (6'3/192) slipped and sliced all over the field for a game-leading 10 catches. Whereas teammate Ja'Marr Chase was more of the explosive threat, Jefferson was the consistent chain-mover LSU needed to march toward the end zone. Look for Jefferson to have another stunning day against Mississippi State next week.

LSU redshirt senior QB Joe Burrow completed 21-of-24 passes for 293 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's 42-28 win over Florida.

Burrow (6'4/216) put as many throws in the end zone as he did in the dirt. In what was Burrow's toughest test so far, he passed with flying colors, completely eviscerating an against Florida defense loaded with NFL players in the secondary. Burrow was excellent in finding the right throw at the right time and putting the ball in the right place. Burrow didn't do a whole lot that was flashy, necessarily, but it seemed like he could do no wrong. LSU will try to continue the undefeated run against Mississippi State next week.

Vaughn (5'10/218) was rolling on Saturday, but his strong effort was negated by a near-complete lack of a passing game. Setting aside the sad panda end result, the senior has been steadily picking up steam over the past few weeks, having now topped 125 yards on the ground in three of his last four games. The team has lost two of those three contests in which Vaughn has gone off. Sad panda, indeed. Missouri shows next on Vandy's schedule. Currently sitting at 1-5, the Commodores have their work cut out for them if they're going to make a bowl this winter.

Florida State junior RB Cam Akers rushed for 34 yards on nine carries in Saturday's 45-14 loss to Clemson.

Akers (5'11/212) was essentially wiped off the map in this one. Some of that was dictated by the scoreboard -- Clemson raced out to a big first-half lead -- some of that was dictated by the Tigers' phenomenal defensive efforts. We'll toss the junior a mulligan on this one, as he has been a sturdy, consistent performer overall this season. Entering the weekend, he had rushed for at least 75 yards in each of FSU's first five contests. He'll look to get his engine revved up once more against Wake Forest next weekend.

Georgia junior QB Jake Fromm completed 28-of-51 passes for 295 yards, a touchdown and was responsible for four turnovers in a 20-17 upset loss to South Carolina on Saturday.

Fromm (6'2/220) had only thrown one interception all season heading into today but threw three picks to Israel Mukuamu alone. Fromm repeatedly turned the ball over in key spots in the upset, but the overtime interception should be laid at the feet of receiver Tyler Simmons as he should have caught the pass. Georgia out-gained South Carolina 468-to-297 yards, held the ball for 36:04 and made 30 first-downs to South Carolina's 16. However the four-to-zero turnover advantage was too much to overcome for the Dawgs. Georgia will look to get back on track next week as they host Kentucky between the hedges in Athens.

Harris has his second hundred-yard game of the season, and it's the second time in three weeks he reached that total. While he didn't find the end zone on the ground, he was able to pick up a receiving score, and that's already the fourth of the season for the 6-foot-2, 230-pound tailback. Harris can do a little bit of everything, and we have a funny feeling scouts are taking notice. He and the Tide should roll next Saturday against Tennessee.

The interception is the first that Tagovailoa has thrown since last year's National Championship Game, so his TD/INT ratio is now 27/1. The southpaw slinger did miss on more throws than we usually see, but he certainly made enough plays with his left arm to call this (another) strong game. We've said it a lot, but it's worth repeating: Yes, Tagovailoa has some ridiculous playmakers, but he makes them better. He should have no problem carving up the Tennessee secondary next Saturday.

Houston redshirt junior WR Marquez Stevenson caught three passes for 120 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 38-23 loss to Cincinnati.

Stevenson (6'0/190) might not have seen a ton of volume in this one (that's on Clayton Tune, who completed nine passes on the afternoon) but he made his touches count, averaging a stellar 40 yards per reception in the defeat. His biggest play of the contest came on a 69-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter. The redshirt junior is now up to a 27-418-4 receiving line through six contests. He can only do so much without real quarterbacking help, unfortunately, but he remains a dynamic playmaker.

Lamb (6'2/191) was all over the place in this one, showing off the explosive, shifty skill-set which has him in line to land as a first-round selection in the spring draft should he declare. He scored on a little one-yard touchdown grab in the first quarter, plus a 27-yard grab in the fourth quarter, but it was his third-quarter score which had social media buzzing. On the play, QB Jalen Hurts took a flea flicker toss back and found Lamb wide open down the right sideline. The junior then proceeded to put on his dancing shoes, weaving his way through multiple would-be tacklers before scampering into the end zone on what finished as a 51-yard touchdown catch. Lamb has now topped 170 yards receiving in two of his last three games. The Biletnikoff candidate will try for further big things against West Virginia next weekend.

2020 NFL Draft: Jalen Hurts gets it done against Texas

Jalen Hurts on pace for a career year in Oklahoma’s offense, has improved in all facets since his time at Alabama

Oklahoma senior QB Jalen Hurts completed 16-of-28 passes for 235 yards, three touchdowns and an interception while rushing for 131 yards and a touchdown on 17 attempts in Saturday's 34-27 win over Texas.

Hurts (6'2/218) was a little wobbly in places, especially early, but OU's offense settled in as the game progressed and the senior Heisman contender ultimately ended up posting sturdy numbers on the whole, especially as a runner. He has now topped 130 yards rushing in three-of-six contests and has thrown for exactly three touchdowns in five-of-six contests. The Sooners will look to continue their Playoff push when they tango with West Virginia next weekend.

Moss (5'10/222) was back from injury, and he was extremely sharp in his cameo. The Utes leaned upon Jordan Wilmore (12-59-1), Devin Brumfield (10-37-1) and TJ Green (9-38-0) for the heavy lifting as the game got out of hand early and often. There was no reason to risk Moss aggravating his injury, so he was rested once the Utes had the game well in hand. Utah should face a much better test next Saturday against Arizona State.

Arizona State junior RB Eno Benjamin rushed 19 times for 137 yards and a touchdown in a 38-34 victory over Washington State on Saturday.

Benjamin (5'10/210) has touched the ball at least 22 times in three-of-his-last-four games and is sporting an overall line of 125-529-7 in the Sun Devils' first 6 games. The 4.2 YPC isn't optimal, but Benjamin has snagged 19 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns in the passing game to help supplement his production. Eno was vital out of the backfield today, catching six passes for 34 yards as an all-purpose weapon for ASU. Arizona State travels to play Utah next Saturday.

Speaking with Fran Duffy on the 'Journey to the Draft' podcast, NFL Films' Greg Cosell said that there's an "element" of Pat Mahomes-esque improvisation in the game of Utah State junior QB Jordan Love.

"He's athletic. He's an easy thrower of the football. Maybe not quite as easy as Mahomes, who is freakish. But yes, there is an element of that to his game," Cosell said of the 6-foot-4, 220-pound Love. He notes that for all of Mahomes' success, the fluid improvisational aspect of his game was something that scared some evaluators during his draft process. That could be a concern for Love, especially given that Love has not put up the kind of burn-down-the-world stats that Mahomes did at Texas Tech. Granted, different schemes and different surrounding talent, but this season, Love has thrown for 1,337 yards (62.5% completions) with a measly 6/8 TD/INT ratio in five games. His numbers have dropped off in terms of both completion percentage and yards per attempt from 2018. Keep in mind, Love was working with Matt Wells as head coach last season. Now Gary Andersen.

"At times he can be a little inconsistent and erratic with his ball placement and that's always a little bit of a concern," Cosell said in a note of slight caution on the 6-foot-6, 223-pound Herbert, before later adding, "he's got all the physical traits you look for." As for what kind of system Herbert would flourish in, Cosell offered up that of Sean McVay, believing that Herbert is "a more talented player than Jared Goff" in terms of physical traits (this hypothetical McVay-Herbert dalliance will have to remain hypothetical). Herbert is going to make for fascinating argument this spring, as for all his physical tools, he will need to combat the notion floating around in some corners that he lacks a hard edge.
