[Dynasty] 2020 NFL Draft Class (8 Viewers)

According to Texas HC Tom Herman, senior WR Collin Johnson tweaked his hamstring during Saturday's 27-24 win over Kansas State.

Johnson (6'6/220) played well Saturday, catching seven passes for 110 yards and a touchdown. However, the senior apparently tweaked his hamstring during the win and team trainers are treating the injury "aggressively" per Herman. Whether or not Johnson, who has a receiving stat line of 35-497-2 for the season, will be able to play in this coming weekend's game at Iowa State has yet to be determined.

SMU redshirt junior QB Shane Buechele completed 33-of-46 passes for 414 yards and five touchdowns with one interception in Saturday's 59-51 win over East Carolina.

Buechele (6'1/207) surpassed the 400-yard mark for the third time in SMU's last four games, and he has thrown at least two touchdown passes in nine straight. The redshirt junior targeted eight different players on Saturday but there were two clear favorites, as James Proche (14 receptions) and Kylen Granson (seven) caught 21 of Buechele's 33 completions. The grad transfer from Texas will look to keep things rolling next weekend when SMU visits Navy in a critical American Athletic Conference matchup.

Nov 10, 2019, 7:53 PM ET

SMU redshirt senior WR James Proche caught 14 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 59-51 win over East Carolina.

Proche (6'0/193) has been outstanding all season, but especially in the last two games as the Mustangs have been without the injured Reggie Roberson Jr. After catching 13 passes for 149 yards and a touchdown in SMU's November 2 loss at Memphis, he was even better Saturday against ECU (14-167-2). Proche is now up to 88 receptions for 1,008 yards and 12 touchdowns on the season, and he'll look to add to those numbers next weekend when SMU visits Navy.

Nov 10, 2019, 7:58 PM ET

SMU junior TE Kylen Granson caught seven passes for 138 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's 59-51 win over East Carolina.

Granson (6'3/200) has scored a total of five touchdowns in SMU's last two games, and he has scored at least one in each of the Mustangs' last four. The junior tight end has emerged as a key target in recent weeks with WR Reggie Roberson Jr. sidelined by a foot injury. Granson, who has a receiving line of 33-570-8 for the season, will once again figure prominently in SMU's game plan next weekend when the Mustangs visit Navy.

SMU senior RB Xavier Jones finished Saturday's 59-51 loss to East Carolina with 157 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns on 20 carries.

Jones (5'11/208) surpassed the 1,000 yard mark in Saturday's win, and he has scored a total of six rushing touchdowns in SMU's last three games. The senior running back also caught two passes for 15 yards, but the majority of his work this season has been done in the ground game. Jones is now up to 1,063 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns, averaging 5.4 yards per game. Next up for the senior running back is a matchup with Navy next weekend in Annapolis.

Louisiana redshirt senior WR JaMarcus Bradley will be headed to the East-West Shrine Bowl this offseason.

The Shrine Bowl is the next-best thing after the Senior Bowl. Other NFL wideouts such as Tajae Sharpe of the Tennessee Titans have attended the all-star game in the past. Bradley (6'1/195) has been one of the best WRs in the Group of Five this year, totaling 36 receptions for 510 yards and five scores to this point in the season. Look out for more Shrine Bowl announcements over the next couple weeks.

Ohio State junior EDGE Chase Young's suspension for an NCAA rules violation will be lifted after Saturday's game against Rutgers.

Young (6'5/274) accepted a loan from a family friend last winter, reportedly to fly his girlfriend to the Rose Bowl, and repaid that loan in the spring. The NCAA jumped on this innocuous situation to suspend the star junior last week. All things considered, OSU actually comes out of this in a nice position. Young sat against Maryland on Saturday and will sit once more versus Rutgers this coming weekend, but will be back for the final two games of the campaign -- biggies against Penn State and Michigan. He'll be fresh for those contests, too.

Oklahoma State redshirt senior WR Jordan McCray accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Bowl.

McCray (6'5/195) began his career with South Alabama before transferring to Oklahoma State this past spring (he had appeared to be on his way to UNLV before changing course). This season, the wideout owns a 13-176-2 receiving line. The East-West Shrine Bowl might not have quite the same shine as the Senior Bowl, but provides a potential springboard into the draft process for McCray.

Notre Dame senior WR Chase Claypool has accepted his invite to the 2020 Senior Bowl.

Claypool is going to be a size mismatch in 1-vs-1 drills. At 6-foot-4, 229-pounds, Claypool looks like a tight end who dieted for a month to play receiver. He has caught 42 passes this year for 651 yards and five touchdowns. Claypool is going to have a tough time climbing to the top of a loaded WR class, but he is a solid mid-round option right now.

FOX analyst Brock Huard mentioned in a piece with The Athletic that Washington redshirt junior QB Jacob Eason has not made the adjustment to be better against blitzes and pressure.

On it's own, Huard's analysis of Eason (6'6/227) versus pressure and blitzes does not make Eason a bad QB prospect. Rather, as Huard alludes to, it just means Eason is incomplete right now, which is to be expected of someone with fairly limited experience. Eason is an intriguing, albeit risky, strong-armed passer who some other analysts have pinned as a first-round pick. The redshirt junior has not made his decision for the NFL draft yet, but if enough teams believe they can iron out his game from here, he may be willing to make the pro leap right now.

Missouri redshirt senior WR Johnathon Johnson has accepted his invite to the 2020 Shrine Bowl.

Johnson isn't fully healthy right now, but he should be by the time the Shrine Bowl rolls around. In eight appearances this year, Johnson has caught 29 passes for 294 yards. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound senior is on the outside looking in with regards to actually being drafted, but an event like the Shrine Bowl is perfect for an unheralded prospect to make a leap into the back end of Day 3.

Virginia senior WR Joe Reed was announced as one of four finalists for the Paul Hornung Award, per Stadium's Brett McMurphy.

The Paul Hornung Award is handed to the most versatile player in the country. While Reed is versatile enough as an underneath and possession receiver for the Cavaliers, it is his work as a kick returner that puts him over the top. Reed ranks first in the country in yards per kick return (min. 15 attempts) and is one of just four players with two kick return touchdowns this season.

Former Kent State senior RB Jo-El Shaw has declared for the 2020 NFL Draft.

Shaw (6'1/230) entered the season as Kent State's starting running back, but was dismissed from the program prior to the team's Nov. 5 game against Toledo for reasons undisclosed. The running back will no doubt face questions from the NFL as to his dismissal when the evaluation process gets started in earnest in the spring. Shaw spent two years in the JUCO ranks before signing on with Kent State prior to the 2018 season. A year ago, he rushed for 657 yards (4.8 YPC) and seven touchdowns across 10 games played. He finished his truncated 2019 campaign having rushed for just 320 yards (4.4 YPC) and two touchdowns in seven games. Shaw will need to excel in testing -- and interview clean -- if he is to crack Day 3 of the draft in April.

Pro Football Focus' overall grade of 89.8 for Colorado State junior WR Warren Jackson is tops among receivers in the Group of Five.

Jackson (6'5/190) is trailed by SMU's James Proche (88.3), Louisiana's Ja'Marcus Bradley (86.5), Arkansas State's Omar Bayless (85.5) and SMU's Reggie Roberson (84.0) among G5 wideouts with at least 45 targets. By traditional statistics this season, Jackson has put up a 55-852-6 receiving line across seven games played. He missed two contests early in the campaign while working through a concussion. CSU will take on Air Force this weekend as Jackson looks to creep closer to 1,000 yards receiving for the season.

Florida State junior RB Cam Akers (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Alabama State.

While Akers will be sitting on Saturday, the team's injury report released on Friday indicated that the junior is expected back for the team's regular-season finale against Florida on Nov. 30. FSU will be off on bye next weekend, too, allowing Akers plenty of time to get fresh. While the Seminoles fired HC Willie Taggart earlier this fall, the tumult surrounding the program has not impacted the 5-foot-11, 212-pounder's on-field output, as Akers has rushed for 1,042 yards and 13 touchdowns this season -- both marks are career highs -- with a 28-223-4 receiving line to boot.

Utah senior RB Zack Moss has accepted an invitation to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl in January.

Moss (5'10/222) is one of two Utah players that accepted Senior Bowl invites Friday, with EDGE Bradlee Anae being the other. The senior running back has appeared in eight games this season, rushing for 828 yards and 11 touchdowns with an average of 6.0 yards per carry. Moss, who has also caught 13 passes for 215 yards and another score, is ranked eighth among draft-eligible running backs by ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. Moss will return to action Saturday when Utah hosts UCLA.

Marshall senior WR Obi Obialo caught eight passes for 146 yards in a 31-10 win over Louisiana Tech on Friday.

Welcome to the 2019 season, Mr. Obialo. The senior wideout had missed the previous nine games due to a knee injury, but he was Isaiah Green's top target on Friday night, and he sure looked healthy in 2019. While he didn't find the end zone, he did everything but, and showed the ability to high-point the football while providing a deep threat for Green and the Herd. Keep in mind that Obialo (6'3/214) can play in four games and still take a redshirt season, so it'll be interesting to see how much he plays -- or when he plays -- in these final games. The Thundering Herd are back in action next Saturday against Charlotte.

Nov 15, 2019, 10:31 PM ET

Mississippi State junior RB Kylin Hill rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries in Saturday's 38-7 loss to Alabama.

Hill (5'11/215) might not have done much in terms of rushing yardage in this one -- he averaged just 2.2 YPC -- but did score on a short touchdown run midway through the first quarter. Mississippi State would not log another trip to the end zone in the contest. For the campaign, Hill has now rushed for a sharp 1,062 yards and 10 touchdowns in 10 games. He should have a chance to feast against Abiline Christian next weekend.
