There is a very large forest called the Cursed Woods of Hellvania. In that forest is a place where most people live that is called Tombstone Township. In the middle of the township is the High Castle where the elite live. All of them have a couple things in common; The people in the forest, township, and castle love playing fantasy football and there always seems to be a Vampire that sneaks into their leagues.

  • The basic concept for a Vampire League is that you have a redraft league of 12 owners and one owner is randomly picked as the Vampire Team. The Vampire Team does not get to draft. That team, after the draft is completed, picks players to fill their roster with players that are left over. In our case, we will have 3 Conferences of 12 teams each.
  • There are no trades. Well, with one exception…If the Vampire Team beats another team, they get to trade one of their starting players for another starting player of the losing team of the same position; RB for RB, WR for WR, etc…
  • The original concept calls for no waivers, but we are going deviate from that just a bit. If one of your players goes on their NFL team’s IR (or gets waived and becomes a FA), you can make a waiver move as long as there is another team, in your conference, that also has a player that ended on their NFL team’s IR (or gets waived and becomes a FA).
What all the Conferences will have in common

  • Check the league’s website for Scoring which should include .5 PPR
  • 3 conferences (The High Castle, Tombstone Township, and Cursed Woods) will have 3 divisions of 4 teams.
  • 14 game schedule in a 13 Week Regular Season. In Week 3 everyone plays a double header.
  • In each Conference, there will be a progressive pot called the Vampire’s Blood Bank. If the Fantasy Bowl is ever won by the Vampire Team, they get to take home the extra winnings.
  • Teams with a tied record will be broken via Most Points Forward (if still tied, Most Points Scored Against).
  • Tied games in the regular season will be counted as ties.
  • Tied games in the Play-offs, Play-outs, or Non-Sense Bowls will go to the team with the better seed number.
  • Nobody will be allowed to be the Vampire team more than twice within 5 years.
  • The snake draft order will be randomly selected via the league website. The last team on the list will be the Vampire Team and taken out of the draft. (Side note: Draft order will be reshuffled if there is conflict on randomly selecting the Vampire Team)
  • The Vampire Team will be encouraged to change the name of their team to Count/Countess and their first name, example: Count Fred, Countess Edith, etc…
  • The draft with start July 15th for The Curse Wood conference; August 1st for Tombstone Township; August 15th for The High Castle.
  • Blind Bidding for waivers. Regular teams get $100 to start the season, Vampire teams will start with $50.
  • When a team makes a waiver move, the player that is on their NFL team’s IR (or becomes a FA) is to be waived.
  • Each Conference will have their own set of NFL players.
  • Starting Line Up: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 2 FLEX (RB, WR, or TE), K, and Def
  • Roster Size: 19 (No IR)
  • Roster Freeze: Prior to the start of Week 15.
  • Vampire Teams may only steal players during our regular season.
What all the Conferences don’t have in common

NON-SENSE BOWLS

I am not a commissioner that let’s Week 17 go to waste. We got to do something special here. I am going to have 6 brackets (with 6 teams each) and each bracket will have it’s own rewards and will end on Week 17. Below is a list of who goes into each bracket and then there will be a list of Bowls. We, as a league, will vote on which bowl will be in which bracket. Here is where teams will have the chance to play teams from other conferences. Side note: I will be ranking the league as a whole from best record to worst record.

Bracket #1:  Best Record to 6th Best Record

Bracket #2: 7th Best Record to 12th Best Record

Bracket #3: 13th Best Record to 18th Best Record

Bracket #4: 19th Best Record to 24th Best Record

Bracket #5: 25th Best Record to 30th Best Record

Bracket #6: 31st Best Record to 36th Best Record

GARLIC BOWL: The winner of this bowl will win the GOLDEN CLOVE. The winner of the Golden Clove will have the power to repel the position of being the Vampire Team. If the winner gets randomly picked to be the Vampire Team and uses the Golden Clove, the Commissioner will do another random draw to see who will be the Vampire Team. The Golden Clove can only be used once and then cooked and used for dinner.

HORN BOWL: The winner of this bowl will win the HORN OF THE FANS. The winner of the Horn can get themselves home field advantage for 1 game. When the winner to uses the Horn, he/she must write a message board stating that he/she is blowing the Horn. After the Horn is blown, that team will receive a 3 point home field advantage. The Horn can only be used once and only during the regular season.

ARMOR BOWL: The winner of this bowl will win the ARMOR OF FAVOR. The winner of the Armor can get themselves out of the Play-Out bracket and into their Conference’s Play-Offs. When the winner is ready to put on the Armor, he/she must write a message board stating that they are now wearing the Armor of Favor. The Commissioner will then swap the #6 seed in that Conference’s Play-Offs with the Armor wearing team that is in that Conference’s Play-Outs. The Armor can only be used once.

PEN BOWL: The winner of this bowl will win the INK PEN OF CHANGE. The winner of the Pen will have the honor of renaming the Play-Out loser in the Cursed Woods Conference. This is to be done prior to the start of the next season. The team that gets renamed can earn their team name back after they have a season with a winning record.

BLOOD BOWL: The winner of this bowl will win the BAG OF BLOOD MONEY. The winner of the Blood Money will earn themselves an extra $10 of Blind Bidding money for next season. If that team gets randomly picked to the Vampire Team the next season, they will earn themselves an extra $20 in Blind Bidding money.

BUDDY BOWL: The winner of this bowl will win a BUDDY TROPHY. The winner will have the honor of selecting a team in the league to be their Rival. Those 2 teams will work together and pick out an image to be used as their Buddy Trophy. Whenever those 2 teams play each other, the winner will get their team picture changed to their Buddy Trophy. If the winner doesn’t pick a Rival Team, the team they played in the Buddy Bowl will be their Rival. If the Rival Teams are in different Conferences, a schedule change in Week 4 will happen to insure that they play each other every year.

WHEN TEAMS MOVE FOR CONFERENCE TO CONFERENCE

You probably guessed that Conference movement happens when one team loses in the Play-Outs (High Castle to Tombstone Township…Tombstone Township to Cursed Woods) and when a player wins their Fantasy Bowl (Tombstone Township to High Castle…Cursed Woods to Tombstone Township).

But what happens if an owner leaves? Glad you asked…

  • All new owners, after the first season, will begin in the Curse Woods Conference.
  • If an owner quits and leaves The High Castle Conference, we’ll move up a team from Tombstone Township. That team will be the team that has the best record. If 2 owners leaves The High Castle Conference, we’ll move up 2 teams from Tombstone Township. Those teams will be the 2 teams that have the best record, etc…
  • So if an owner leaves Tombstone Township, we’ll move up a team from The Cursed Woods. That team will be the one with the best record.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

  • If you want to suggest a rule change…Talk about on the message and make sure you say something like, “I’d like to make a motion to change…..”. Everyone will have a chance to state their position or opinion. If another owner agrees with the rule change suggestion, make sure you write something like, “I second that motion” If a different owner agrees with the rule change suggestion, make sure you write something like, “I third that motion” After someone ‘third’s the motion, The Commissioner will start a poll and we’ll all vote.
  • Offensive Behavior: If someone's behavior on the league website is offensive in nature (regarding team name, message board posts, etc...) feel free email the Commissioner and state your concerns. Depending on the subject or situation, it will take at least 3 emails from different owners and your Commissioner will address the issue. Possible courses of action if offense is repeated or actions instructed by Commissioner is not followed through; limit owner's abilities, elimination of draft picks, removal of ownership of team (refund of entry fees will not be reimbursed), etc... The Commissioner reserves the right to take action that he sees fit.

Make sure to let me know which Conference and or Division you want to be in.

The High Castle Conference is full

2 spots left in Tombstone Township Conference

4 spots left in Curse Woods Conference

Looks like the league is full, but not everyone has paid yet. If anyone drops out, let me know. I'd e happy to fill the spot. Great concept for a league!
