Mark Harris and North Carolina election fraud: New election now looks likely (2 Viewers)

Maybe there should be more policies in place to prevent voter fraud.
Oh boy.  The guy with an opinion on everything suddenly becomes mute when his team turns out to be the criminals. Oh well, can't say I was expecting anything else.  Maybe next time when you're crying about how you're treated around here, you'll think back to this and understand.

What happened here is already against the law. The Republican candidate simply lied, and Republicans everywhere supported him in trying to cover it up. What policies would you put in place to prevent this from happening in the future?

1. this was election fraud, not voter fraud.

2. however, this case does relate to voter fraud, because it involves one of the most vulnerable aspects of the U.S. voting system -- absentee ballots. These ballots are extremely susceptible to fraud. And yet Republicans have consistently and stubbornly refused to call for proper reforms of the absentee system. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that absentee voters are more likely to be Republican.

Actually, the Republicsn simply broke the law (even if by proxy)

BREAKING:

North Carolina Republican Mark Harris will not run again in disputed congressional contest

Just noticed that his poster says "Like a boss". Which means it was intentional. Which means he's telling people to vote for him based on his resemblance to a parody of a corrupt local politician ... in a race where the previous candidate was exposed as corrupt.

Nice work, team.
Maybe after he loses this election, he can move to Baltimore and run for state senate with the campaign slogan "SHEEEEEEEEEEEE-IT!"

Dowless was indicted today on 3 felony charges.  He is having a slightly better day than Trump and you can take that to the bank brochacho.

FYI -  Trump has a hand in this. This was discovered in 2016 and the US Attorneys office did nothing with it

I hadn't realized until I read this article that it was very clear Harris not only knew about Dowless, he specifically sought him out to do the same thing he did for his opponent in the '16 primary:

At a hearing in late 2016, as “This American Life” previously reported, the Board of Elections, which found no evidence of Democratic wrongdoing, dismissed Dowless’s accusations, but not before Dowless admitted under oath that he had, in fact, paid workers to collect ballots for him. As it became clear that Dowless was detailing his involvement in a violation of federal election laws, he took the Fifth, which resulted in the state launching a criminal investigation. A few months later, as Harris prepared another run in the Ninth District, he actively began courting Dowless. On March 8, 2017, Harris text messaged a prominent Republican judge in the Bladen County area, asking for an introduction to “the guy whose absentee ballot project for Johnson could have put me in the US House this term, had I known, and he had been helping us.”

Win at all cost. Pastor Harris is as crooked as a fish hook.

Two House elections in North Carolina today

Not only is there an election to fill the empty seat caused by Republican fraud, but there's also an election to fill the empty seat of Republican Walter Jones, who died in February.

Looks like Republicans will easily hold Jones' seat, but the other race is too close to call.
I wouldn't be surprised if the voters there punish the GOP for their fraud. But, whatever happens, I hope more than anything the election results accurately reflect the will of the people who live there.

The GOP has to win. Otherwise North Carolina will have open borders, rampant crime, and no 2nd Amendment. I heard it last night.

McCready (the Democrat who "lost" the original election) is running an interesting strategy -- no mention of Trump, no mention of impeachment, no affiliation with prominent Democrats, and no mention of voter fraud. Instead, he has focused on affordable health care, just as many Democratic candidates did in 2018. Hmmm.

You mean affordable heath care FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, right?

Also, isn’t McCready for socialism? I heard the Republican guy just now on the radio and that’s what he said.

Bishop built his lead mostly on Union county but it’s at 88%.  Mecklenberg with only 28% reporting - could depend on how blue that county goes.
