If you want a player you need to just take him. Forget trying to get "value", just go for your targets.
Casing point - the owner of 2.11 wanted to trade down, I had one target I wanted that I thought would be there at my next pick (3.03) but I wasn't sure. So I traded up to get Diontae Johnson. Turns out that's the guy he was trading down to get. Meanwhile, Singletary and a couple others were still around. So he's not wrong in that Johnson often would slide, but not this time.

I agree. I thought that might be the issue. Almost every league I am in is that way. So I probably assume to much that is the norm

4 pt passing league Murray is worth even more. QB is deep. I understand what you're saying but man having the hot QB for that given year gives you such a huge advantage. Lots of people won their leagues because QB like Mahomes, Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Wilson, and Cam when they got hot........
I looked at my 9 leagues-4 redraft and 5 dynasty. Mahomes made the finals in one and lost that. He had a top 3 all time QB fantasy season. This is a small sample size but all I have access to really. But if a qb mattered it seems like his past season would have propelled more teams to the finals. I do understand lots of surrounding circumstances play a part as well.

I disagree wholeheartedly. In the last few years I’ve cleaned up with qb acquisitions flipped at the right time. When you can draft a qb that will start in late 2 or later I’ll take it. I’ve made out using a roster spot and a low value rookie pick and flipping it for more when someone has an injury. No one wants to give a pick for an old vet, but a young guy that seems to be on the upswing (Mariota at one time, trubisky, dak are 3 I’ve flipped) for a future 1st or injured player (guice) it can be a solid investment.

That's only one of the monster QB seasons I mentioned but carry on. Murray will be the #1 pick in a lot of drafts late in the rookie drafting season when he starts popping off.

That's a mistake. You pile up talent no matter what position they play. You can flip a young elite QB for a lot or hell just corner the market and kill everyone at that position playing the matchups.
So your point was one of the top six QBs was probably in the finals? I agree. There’s a good chance one of 50% of the starting QBs got to the finals. If Murray is the number one pick in any regular 12 team league. Then that person has zero idea of how fantasy football works.

Then you my friend must struggle to win very often. Anyone taking a rookie QB 1.1 in non-SF/2 QB doesn’t know what they’re doing. Fact.
I mostly agree, but will also say Treavor Lawrence in 2 years might be my 1.1 I like him that much so far.

How many present QBs would you take over Josh Jacobs in 1 QB? For me it’s anywhere from 0-1. Mahomes possibly. I just can’t see the upside if it’s not SF to take even luck or Rodgers let alone an unknown Rookie QB.

You can do this intelligently. By taking him later. If someone grabs him a little early then make a move for him by giving that person a little profit rather than spending a premium pick on him off the bat.
In all of my leagues, this never works.
Guys might think long and hard about accepting my 1.10/2.3 for his 1.8 while it’s a pick. But as soon as it becomes “player X” he isn’t parting with him for less than two 1sts and another prospect.
The endowment effect is extremely strong in my leagues.

When it’s a player in a low demand position that’s being picked in the mid 2nd of drafts on average that someone reaches for a bit I think it’s much more viable. If they reach too far you just let it go and be happy with the value that fell in the process.

Didn't Perriman get injured a lot and couldn't run routes?
I think this Hollywood guy is something else than Perriman and if he would have been picked by Patriots he would be #1 pick of the whole draft. So situation is not the best, but Hollywood ain't no Perriman.

Well I was responding to this quote: "but IMO Baltimore didnt spend a 1st round pick on a WR they dont have plans to use effectively" - I'm sure they planned to use Perriman effective as well, but the best laid plans of mice and men...
As far as Brown being the better prospect, maybe you're right about that but both were thought of high enough to be drafted in the first round. Personally I think it was a toss up as they both have their strengths and weaknesses. Brown has a pretty low bar set up in order to surpass Perriman now though.
And as to the situation; "not the best" is a kind way to put it. Brown's situation basically took him off my draft board. We already had an extremely undersized WR to begin with but now he goes to a run first team with a QB that has some serious accuracy issues. I don't want to write Jackson off completely and maybe he shows some improvement as a passer, but I just wouldn't want to rely on a QB catching passes in this offense.
