You will never pay again at the point of service.  You will never pay healthcare premiums again.  And it will cost less.

How can it cost less you ask?

Insurance companies are like the bookies of healthcare.  I think they can make only 20% not sure if that includes expenses and payroll and bonuses but let's say it does.

So it will cost a minimum of 8% for admin.  So that's 12% of the total healthcare industry saved.  We can negotiate drug prices like every other country.

We actually save money.

It's not free, it's a better use of funds to overhaul a system with subpar results.  And if your not happy, you can go to Canada like Rand Paul and pay cash.  But aren't they socialist?

I don`t know what to think anymore.  I call on the Big 3 auto companies in Detroit. some plants are right across the river from Canada and have Canadian employees.  They are always complaining about their bad "health system" is. Many doctors, dentists and clinics in Metro-Detroit know this and are cleaning up with cash services. Been told you really don`t want to be in the hospital for any amount of time because the employees are like government employees that really don`t care.

This might be true.  I don't know.  Do they want our system?  It would be the first I heard of that?

The votes aren’t there for it. Most likely they won’t be there for decades. Therefore it’s only significance right now is as a political question.

Far better for the Democrats to run on protecting and improving Obamacare. That platform will defeat Trump and the Republicans, because they have no answer for it. But if you start talking Medicare for All, it allows the Republicans to change the topic, to talk about socialism and big government and taxation, etc.

You did this with Obama, gave us Trump.  Let's try something new.

The same phenomenon occurs in South Florida where many foreign born residents (and their gringo spouses) go to their native countries of Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Dominican Republic, etc to get medical and dental care. Why? It's too expensive here. That's one of the major reasons we spend so much on healthcare, without measurable results such as greater longevity  - we're an outlier. Here's a good read from a Canadian doctor, who spent time at Harvard and Princeton, with links to shortcomings in Canadian and the U.S. healthcare systems. The big problem in the US is prices. And lots of mis-information and scare tactics about socialized medicine.  https://www.statnews.com/2018/08/10/medicare-canada-united-states-differences/

Liability has played a big role as well.   Now doctors need to order many expensive and timely tests to rule out and possibility of mistake to prevent huge lawsuits.

My neighbor is a female doctor from Brazil who practiced there. When she took a position here she said 75% of her work is filling our paper work and running unneeded tests the hospitals require to prevent from being sued. 25% is treating her patients.  In Brazil she said is was the other way around.
