As good as any. A true collaboration. Was surprised to learn later in life that Fripp did not use an E-bow. I love this song on long bike ride playlists. You could just loop this and be well on your way.

It's the one that will survive us all, a distillation of what he & we were about. A hundred years from now, it'll be Beatles & Bowie & yaddayaddayadda because Bowie was the Lincoln of our insides. We're all closet queens in some way and David Bowie took on the task of not only showing us that could be OK but is probably the way it's supposed to be. We're are suffering now into our 2nd weary generation of celebrating self and it's turned the world into a ####show but, once we get it back together, we'll realise how necessary it was to happen so we could stand proudly in the shadow of great monoliths representing all the forces against us (the Berlin Wall, in this case) and have a li'l snog, a wee nibble. Every damned one of us can be Heroes, for at least a day.

Like others have said, Bowies sound is so different depending on the era you choose. You could have a hundred different top 5 song lists if you interviewed a hundred people. I personally enjoy the song but would not put it top 5. But I enjoy the Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust over all other albums. Some do not.

Perhaps my favorite version is when Queen and Mick Ronson backed Bowie at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert back in 1992.
Ronson would himself leave us a year later due to liver cancer. :(
