Looks to me like the Gator corners play Man well but stink at zone ( or indifferent to it) . Miami picked up a bunch of 2nd or 3rd and longs passing to open guys then breaking a tackle.

I"ve no doubt Manny Diaz is a good coach, but Miami looks REALLY poorly coached tonight. First game mistakes, I'm sure.

Screw that, man.  If a QB is going to tip-toe along the sideline then you can't throw a flag when he gets hit as he finally starts to step out.

This is a new one

@Brett_McMurphy: Arizona at Hawaii start may be delayed because police escort for Arizona’s team buses was "mysteriously canceled” & Wildcats arrived 45 minutes later than scheduled, @MichaelJLev reports

Gators with another really dumb penalty get bailed out by a missed chip shot

@KegsnEggs: #collegekickers, get over here and let's hug.

Crazy loooooong day yesterday, but it was fun.  I didn't know this, but it turns out Miami fans aren't that much different than Cowboy fans.  That's not a bright lot the best I can tell.  Incredibly sloppy game that felt like a scrimmage.  Seemed to be about a 3:1 ratio...maybe 2.5:1 in favor of Florida.  Thought it'd be much more even.  Miami QB can be good if they do something about that line.  That was brutal.  Saw Urban walking around in a Florida shirt

Not surprised on the fan split...UF has the biggest fan base of any team in the state...pro or college.  Miami is down the list. And further away of course.

UGA woke up feeling pretty good. Openers can be sloppy, but Franks isn’t leading that team anywhere.

I didn't pay a ton of attention to him, but we had pretty good seats on the Florida side around the 40 yard line.  It seemed like every time he was off the field, he was screwing around with the fans, running around etc.  Didn't seem focused at all.

Meh. Not sure even most Gator fans thought that Frank's was suddenly going to put the team on his back. Just ask Emmitt. A leopard never changes his spots. Granted that last INT was horrendous but it seemed like Mullen had him.on a tight leash.

I think the biggest negative takeaway from that game is the poor tackling. The top SEC teams are going to negate the UF passrush with quick throws to athletes in space and make the secondary come up with a tackle.

Second would be the offensive line but Miami is a good defense and maybe the blocking will improve when the 4 new starters get a chance to gel.

I hope you win, GB.
Thanks. It settled at 1235 for the pair and I backed out. I don’t know what the difference between 1100 and 1200 was for me but it started to feel pretty stupid to spend that kind of dough on one regular-season game.

TV schedule for this week's games

The Week 1 slate gets underway on Thursday night with 16 games as four preseason top 25 teams will be in action, including the defending national champion Clemson Tigers, who host Georgia Tech in the ACC opener.

The action continues on Friday night with eight more games, highlighted by a pair of ranked Big Ten teams as No. 19 Wisconsin travels to South Florida while No. 18 Michigan State plays host to Tulsa.

The Saturday slate features 16 top 25 teams in action, including one head-to-head showdown between top 25 teams as No. 11 Oregon meets No. 16 Auburn in primetime at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The weekend concludes with one game on Sunday and one more on Monday.

This weekend stinks compared to the last few years.
On paper, sure. But the actual big games the past few years sucked anyway. There’s a lot of fun games I think - FSU and Boise should be fun.  Stanford and NW, OU and Houston, Ole Miss and Memphis. Lots of good stuff.
