Dont know where else to put this, but the amount of extra inning shootouts is just silly. Yankees/royals had 6 runs in 9 innings. Now 7 in less than 2. 

Thank god this dumb runner on second rule is going away.

 
Looking forward to the Angels v Mariners edition.

MLB's going to nuke the Angels for this bush league #### (pulling the scheduled starter just ahead of the game and inserting an opener to throw at Mariners).

There is a lot to breakdown, from Rendon's swatting at Winker with his off-hand to Iglesias' sunflower seeds toss.

Nevin has built up notoriety these past couple of seasons. Last year as Yankees 3B coach he routinely got his guys thrown out at home by ten feet, and now this.   

 
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Los Angeles Angels interim manager Phil Nevin was suspended 10 games and Seattle Mariners outfielder Jesse Winker received a seven-game ban from Major League Baseball for their roles in a benches-clearing brawl during the second inning of Sunday's game.

Nevin and Winker were two of 12 players or coaches suspended between the teams, according to an MLB release Monday night.

Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford received five games, Angels pitchers Ryan Tepera and Andrew Wantz were suspended for three and Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez, Angels reliever Raisel Iglesias and major league interpreter Manny Del Campo received two games.

Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon, who is out for the rest of the season after undergoing wrist surgery, will be suspended five games when he returns from the injured list. For now, he is prohibited from sitting on the bench for the next seven games.

Nevin received a significant suspension for Angels opener Wantz intentionally throwing at Winker while warnings were in place for both teams. Nevin made the late decision to pitch Wantz instead of scheduled starter Jose Suarez.

Gotta give credit to MLB for hitting the Angels so hard, and not just NFL-ing their way to offsetting penalties.  They got it right in the Pirates, Reds thing a few years ago too.  (Which is still the GOAT Jomboy breakdown.)
