Headed there in July, family camping trip. Any can't misses? Teenager kids, so any advice on canoeing, kayaking or whitewater rafting would be great. We will be doing a fair amount of hiking, too - Lake Louise, Maligne Lake, etc. Staying 4 nights at each park.

for july , the biggest issue will be getting campsites . hopefully you all ready have them booked.

if you do have them booked , whats your route

On the way from Banff to Jasper...do Parker Ridge Hike.  It's pretty short and for the effort exerted the reward is top notch.

We were there last year and it's really crowded ..so either wake up really really early or go in the afternoon.

For example we got to Moraine Lake and were 1 km from the parking lot at 6:30am...and waited 2.5 hours in dead stopped traffic jam.  And when we got to the parking lot they said... sorry you have to go all the way back.  BS.  I pulled over and waited for some photo taker to leave.  We then did our 8 miler hike and it was great but a good lesson...early means. EARLY!

The Sulphur Mountain gondola in Banff is kinda cool to do. It was snowing at the top when we went a few summers ago.

Enjoy the bear jams
