Good game happening on a lovely Sunday afternoon. Jason Tatum is elite, very elite. He broke down Kawhi on both ends recently, doing it to Brow today.

Him and Ingram are my 2 personal favorite young guys to watch offensively right now. As you mentioned with Tatum, it isn't just what he's doing....it's who he's doing it against.  Can do it at every level and just completely unstoppable when they want to get to the hoop. Hard to believe they're still just both 21 and 22 respectively when you watch them.

Fun to see how much both have grown this season.

Going to be interesting to see if the Pellies can sneak into the playoffs. I'm sure the league is dying to get Lebron vs. Zion in Round 1 along with the Davis/ex-Lakers storyline.

They're 6-3 since they ramped up ZIon's minutes. The guy can't be stopped down low. Whiteside's had a tremendous year and Zion was completely humiliating him down low.

Good point of reference between Tatum and Ingram tonight. Pellies get the Lakers. I will be there. I agree both have been great to watch improve and become so complete at both ends. I think Tatum's handles separate him some, and Zion is deducting from Ingram's stat line, which if great. NO will be a tough out in the playoffs if they get there and the very deep assortment of perimeter players are on their games. I love watching them.

U.S. Mint Hall Of Fame Coins

U.S. Mint: News Release

United States Mint Hosts Ceremonial Strike of 2020 Basketball Hall of Fame Commemorative Coin Program Coin

PHILADELPHIA – United States Mint (Mint) Director David J. Ryder hosted members and supporters of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame today at a ceremonial striking of the 2020 Basketball Hall of Fame Silver Dollar Coin.

During his remarks, Director Ryder stated that “every day, across the Nation, the United States Mint connects Americans through coins, and it is our great privilege to connect America to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.” Ryder went on to announce that “the most unique feature of these coins is that they will be the first-ever colorized coins produced by the United States Mint! Coins with proof and uncirculated finishes will go on sale April 4th, and the colorized versions of the silver and clad coins will go on sale at a later date.”

Other event participants included Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame President John Doleva; basketball legends Julius Erving and Sheryl Swoopes; and Massachusetts Congressman Richard Neal, sponsor of the legislation authorizing the Basketball Hall of Fame Commemorative Coin Program.

The silver dollar is one of three coins in the 2020 Basketball Hall of Fame Commemorative Coin Program. The Mint will also produce a five dollar gold coin and a half-dollar clad coin as authorized by Public Law 115-

343 in recognition of the 60th anniversary of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

All three coins will be dome-shaped and will feature common obverse (heads) and reverse (tails) designs. The common obverse design features three players reaching for the ball in unison, reflecting how the sport of basketball has brought together diverse people around the world through a simple, universal, and unifying athletic experience. Their arms are slightly elongated to emphasize the full exertion of physical and mental energy required to excel in this sport. The rim and net are subtle background design elements complementing the three players. Inscriptions are “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2020.”

The common reverse design depicts a basketball about to pass through the net, with the inscriptions of “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.” Additional inscriptions include “FIVE DOLLARS” on the gold coin, “ONE DOLLAR” on the silver dollar, and “HALF DOLLAR” on the clad coin.

Mint Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) artist Justin Kunz created the obverse design, which was selected from a public competition as required by the authorizing legislation. The common reverse design is by AIP artist Donna Weaver.

The Mint will produce and issue up to 50,000 $5 gold coins, 400,000 $1 silver coins, and 750,000 half–dollar clad coins. Surcharges collected from coin sales—$35 for each gold coin, $10 for each silver coin, and $5 for each half–dollar coin—are authorized to be paid to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame to fund an endowment that will enable increased operations and educational programming.

About the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is an independent non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting, preserving, and celebrating the game of basketball at every level – men and women, amateur and professional players, coaches and contributors, both domestically and internationally. Located in Springfield, Massachusetts, the birthplace of basketball, it is home to more than 400 inductees and more than 40,000 square feet of basketball history.

Strong year for the award. I'd put Bam and Luka up there too.

Luka will probably get "penalized" for being so good as a rookie but most don't realize the guy is almost averaging a triple double this year. And still 20 years old :lmao:

siakam could honestly be in the convo again.  Increased usage by 40%, doubled 3PA per game at the same shooting %, and his TS% would be the same if not for what looks like some weird luck on 2 pointers that should progress back to the mean.

time to see Brett brown’s masterful coaching chops on display.

Devonte' Graham would be my pick. Kendrick Nunn, Brandon Ingram, and Davis Bertans were three others that seemed to make a big jump from last season.  Maybe SGA, but that doesn't seem as surprising of a jump.

so Glenn Robinson III was on a streak of 12 straight games with a 3-pointer before he got traded to the Sixers. i believe this is his 6th game with the team, and i believe he has gone 0-whatever since the trade. i'm also positive Harris, Richardson, and Horford are all shooting well below their average now that they have joined the Sixers

Pretty fun being a Sixers' fan :kicksrock:

ok, i am open to the idea that you may possibly be correct:

Derek Bodner

@DerekBodnerNBA

With Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid both out, Al Horford (4-10), Tobias Harris (3-12) and Josh Richardson (4-12) have combined for just 28 points on 11-34 shooting against the league's 2nd worst defense. That's not going to get it done.

Burn this mother F'er down and sell the team please. thing is a dumpster fire and they should consider getting rid of Brown before the end of the season if they have more like this. Also give a kick to the nuts to Silver and the NBA for their courage to stop the atrocity of Sam Hinkie, and leave the Sixers with "Eric Jr." and to eventually have to scramble and make Brand GM.

Insane thinking of the position the Sixers were in before Colangelo until now. 🙂 I had Sixers +10.5 in live betting tonight, and these mother F'ers can't even cover that

really have to think it goes to Bam. I am not sure how the award has gone the past 10-20 years, but Bam really seems to be that guy who came out of nowhere and has been consistently good. Luka has been amazing, but i think just like you said he won't get it because it isn't as big of a jump as Bam has had. Brandon Ingram should be in the conversation too, but i don't think he has been as consistent as Bam

Graham and Bertans aren't bad, but they seem to be products of terrible teams and being able to score a bunch because of a lack of talent on the rest of the roster. Bam has to battle for stats with Butler and a host of 2nd/3rd tier guys for stats, and he just seems to be the most consistent of the out of nowhere guys.

Celts @ Jazz should be good. I can't get enough of how aggressive Tatum has become offensively, then just nails on D. He is by far the fastest riser on that list coming from +25000 to +5000 since the AS break.

Ingram is odds on favorite, but I expect the award to go to Luka. Giannis gets MVP but they have to recognize how dominant Luka is this year.

wow, when did draft kings get so thorough with all of their betting selections? DPOY seems just dumb with AD being a -250 favorite, but that does seem to be more of a popularity contest than anything. He is 3rd in the league in blocks and 18th for rebounds. those def rebounds are close to 4 rebounds a game difference than #4 Giannis. It is pretty nice seeing Thybulle getting some love even being mentioned, but having Ben Simmons not top 5 in betting favorites seems strange since he has led for most of the season in steals.

Would be interesting to see how that trended over the years. It does seem around early 90's blocks started taking over as > than steals. only a few like Gary Payton snuck in to win it Also pretty crazy how many years Jordan was top 3 in steals.

Tatum making THE LEAP this month. His numbers in February:

30.5 ppg on 50/51/81, 7.5 rebounds, 3 assists.

More made threes this month than anyone in the league. At 21 years old.

Kobe has sumn to do with it. Tatum adored Kobe - it was he whose tutelage Jayson sought when everyone was predicting the world for him after his rookie year and he took whatever lessons he got so much to heart that the hesitancy of asking WWKD? at most moments on the floor hurt his flow all season. Dont think this surge is a coincidence. You're doing your mentor proud, kid

the Luka price seems way too low just from the standpoint that I think that the voters tend to give it to guys who were not very good and bring themselves to pretty good, much more so than players who were already highly regarded and get to an elite level.

edit: actually, looking at the historical winners, I would say that was true until around 2010 and in the past decade, it has been much less so, so maybe it's not that bad of a price.

Plunked down a bill and quarter on Boston 20/1 to win it all.  I think they are going to make it to the finals in the East.  I don't trust Milwaukie, Phily can't win on the road and that's it for obstacles coming out of the crap coast.  Once in the finals, I can hedge a bit, but I think lack of depth and old age will be the undoing with either LA team.

Go Green!

The Celts are one of the few teams with enough scheme to turn Eric Bledsoe into a series-ruining chukker, the key to beating the Bucks. If the immortal Semi Ojeleye can get away with his act on Anteaternintendo one more time....

Sounds like a decent bet.

Well, here's the part that connects us, my broladdy from another daddy....I'll be rooting for your Bucks against 14 other teams, so if they take Boston out (or Boston goes out beforehand) I'll be wearing my antlers, dousing myself with deer piss and howling for Antekomptol-bro as loud as I can and you put that in your peace pipe.

We'll see if they get their d right. They should be so good but they fall behind by double digits game after game. Every time I watch for a few weeks I feel like something is wrong. We still haven't seen a lot of the Kahwi/George combo in tough situations, but I feel like they'll fall short.

If everyone is healthy on all the competitive teams, I think I like the Lakers to get this (for Kobe?). Then I see the world through purple glasses sometimes. I like the depth (Rondo, Avery, KCP, Danny, Caruso, Kuz, Kieff maybe). Rondo and Bradley have developed respectable (streaky) three point shots. All the others can drain it. The rim protection that helped Warrior teams finish games is strong here (Davis, Howard, McGee). It's a leap better than Zubac/Harrell/Whoever.

I like the Clips chances better than the Lakers. I don't think the Lakers are deep at all, not in a reliable way. Kuzma has been a real let down this year. Still feels to me like you can take your chances doubling off of anyone but LeBron and Davis and you'll probably be o.k. in the long run.

Because they don't have Kyrie Irving.

Upgraded on Rozier with Kemba.

Discussed at nauseam last year they were much better w/o Kyrie.
