Wife is taking the kids camping tomorrow through Sunday, so will have the domicile to my lonesome (well, minus the dog).  Have a few things planned... help me flesh out the rest (pun certainly intended).

Headed home at about 2:30ish from work tomorrow, as Friday afternoons are typically slow.  Might try to take a half-hour nap, will probably just lounge around and watch TV.

Going to Hambone's BBQ for dinner and beers, probably around 5pm.  Yeah, I know... California BBQ?  I lived in Austin for 6 years so I consider myself a BBQ snob.  It's not Texas BBQ, that's for sure, but it does the trick.  Especially since their beers are the cheapest in town.  And I'm talking good, local microbrews.  I may head home after dinner and a couple beers, I may go to my local dive for more.  Not sure.... because...

Saturday afternoon I'm headed to The Salty Bear Brewery.  First time going, excited to sample their brews.  There are THREE other breweries within walking distance so will likely be pretty sauced up by the time the sun sets.  Will definitely head over to my local dive to cap the night.  Will hopefully escape without being too inebriated because....

Going to church Sunday morning at 10.  Or at least I will make every effort.   :oldunsure:

Will lounge around Sunday until the zoo returns.

Suggestions, schtick, etc.?

Edit to add:  Going to my barber on Saturday late morning to get the beard evened out.  Might manscape the nose hair when I get home.

I've never done that, but this would seem to be the perfect time. Don't want any witnesses if you get sick.
Can I do a jar of Twinkies instead?

Would you rather:

A. Sing Old Town Road in front of your entire extended family

OR

B. Have a full grown pet tarantula for a week
A, I have a very small extended family.

How many intimate sessions {with yourself) do you see yourself having?
Somewhere between the number in my username and the number in yours.

Rearrange all the furniture in your house.

Switch up the bedrooms too.

EDIT: Be careful. This is more dangerous than it sounds.

I don't care if work gets slow and it means you can leave by 2:30. If my wife and kid are gone by 11am, I'm in my house at 11:01. Don't care if that means WFH or calling out sick so you can hang with them before you leave, or just bailing from the office with whatever excuse necessary that gets you in that door at 11:01...

If I know my house is completely empty I'll move heaven and earth to get myself there.

I’ve gone all the way down to Anaheim from the valley to visit Bottle Logic. Never heard of Salty Bear, but it might be worth a trip to Costa Mesa someday...

I hear what you're sayin' but I failed to mention I have a lunch w/ co-workers today at BWW to watch the Women's World Cup.  One of the dudes here is moving up to Oregon to work remote, so we're sending him off.  I will leave shortly after lunch after I take care of a few things.

Funny, I have a buddy who lives in Anaheim who's busting my balls that I'm going to the Costa Mesa breweries.  Granted, there's FOUR within walking distance with the bonus of having a legit dive bar also on the same street.  But yeah, Anaheim breweries are supposedly nice and I do want to check them out.

Salty Bear is brand new, will report back.

Almost lunchtime (going at 11).  Work piling up.  :(

My fiancee is taking a road trip with my mom and bringing the dog as well. Not sure what shenanigans I'm going to get into myself. Monitoring this thread for ideas.

They claim to be at The Camp but it's on the street behind it (Randolph - where Barley Forge and Gunwhale are).  They may have actually knocked down some walls.  Pretty soon that whole triangle (Bristol, Baker, Randolph) will be The Camp.  I know a developer was proposing it, with a ton of new venues but the City shut that down real quick due to lack of parking.

Will report back.

 I'm not opposed to camping but I snore like a bear and I've kind of relegated it to being a thing my kids do with my wife.

No Steves... well, hopefully.   :oldunsure:

Meh.

Went to dinner by myself (no problem, always strike up conversation at the little bar at the restaurant I go to) on Friday night.  Went to my local dive after, home by 10.  Watched Pacific Rim, fell asleep.

Did some errands on Saturday (beard trim, returned library books/DVD) before going to lunch with a buddy and then met another buddy for beers.  Went to a new local brewery, which was good.  Sun was shining, everything was copacetic.  Felt compelled to go home around 9.  Had Lyft driver drop me off at the Smart & Final by my house so I could grab an oven pizza and half-gallon of ice cream.  Had half the pizza, fell asleep watching Predators before I could grub the ice cream.

Went to church yesterday and then went with my parents to buy my Dad a car.  It was 95 degrees out where we bought it, and the car's A/C is out.  That was fun.  Took a brief nap then met back up with parents for dinner.

Kids and wife will be home this afternoon... really miss 'em!

All in all a pretty boring weekend.   :coffee:

From my experience, the anticipation ahead of a scenario like yours almost always results in failing to live up to expectations.

If my wife ever left and took the kids for the whole weekend I’d probably consider making plans to go to a nice dinner and then the bar / casino with my buddies but most likely I’d end up ordering enough Chinese food for 5 people and then eat that for lunch and dinner the entire weekend while I just loaded around and watched sports / porn

Should've bought a last minute ticket to Vegas with 3 other friends and re-enact the Hangover......might be hard to explain to your wife how you married a hooker while in Vegas and stole Tyson's tiger but remember: Admit nothing, deny everything, and make counter accusations
