what are the best paid sites? (1 Viewer)

Going to go way out on a limb here and guess that a majority of the people reading this are going to have footballguys as one of their pay subscriptions (those who have any at all).

It’s the only one I still subscribe to.  Plenty of free stuff out there, but Joe deserves some support for keeping this place running imo.

If you need raw advanced stats PFF ELITE is the answer, a little expensive though.

profootballfocus.com, they do a really good job of spotting waiver pickups 2-3 weeks before they become fantasy stars. very good site. their DFS stuff helps the fantasy owners set lineups. if you can't choose between two guys, check their DFS listings and write ups..if they're fading player x and pushing all-in on the player y, I'm starting player y.. you can do this with a number of DFS sites, I just feel like they have the best stats and the best data of anyone out there.

Tony Holm's Fantasysharks.com been around forever. always has a great site  information

Thehuddle.com - David M Dorey is a god .this is one of the very best, reaasonably priced outfits there is..

fantasypros.com

fantasyindex.com has a lot of good info, cheap prices, I like the training camp/preseason weekly write-ups and in-season analysis is very good. I've been using them since 1992 or so.

footballguys draft dominator is a great tool lets you focus on the draft while keeping tabs on whats happening, who has been drafted, who you *should* grab next, etc. best thing is it keeps the draft record of every pick so you know who pick who and in what round ( finds draft tendencies to exploit)

DD is solid. Waldman swings for the fences and strikes out, a LOT. but others on the staff are really good.

I like to subscribe to a number of sites and kind of average out the ideas, some like player X, some dislike him, some have a wait-n-approach on same player. I like to hear all sides and go from there. kind of what fantasypros.com does.

youtube.com has a lot of good FREE information too. Fantasy headliners is a channel I've been watching lately , they're pretty damn good from what I can tell. have a look at their recent lists of RBs to own, RBs that you do not want to draft.very informative stuff!

fantasyfootballers are OK, they seem to spend a lot of time talking about fringe players like rex  burkhead, I don't get it.but their shows are funny and informative..has a kind of schticky greenberg/golic thing going on with the studio,  sort of played out/tired look since everyone has 45 bobble head miniatures in front of a giant microphone ala greeny.but they're decent I guess..

I plan on subscribing to Footballguys.

Thanks for all the informations!

I used to go with Fantasy Guru and then listen to a bunch of different podcasts including...Football guy's the Audible, CBS sports fantasy football today, Rotoviz, The Ringer etc.

Rotopass is probably the best bang for your buck depending on you price range. $75 for Footballguys, Rotowire, Rotoviz, Rosterwatch, ESPN+, and Football Outsiders. I've had it for a few years and I'm pretty satisfied.

thanks for the tip on Rotopass...didn't know about that and I pay at least that much for a couple sites already.  Since I already paid for this seasons sites it's something I will take not of next year.

Don’t like the Dynasty Nerds at all.  I do subscribe to DLF, they are the only site I will give $$$ to.  I only play dynasty leagues and for the $$$, they are head and shoulders above any site that focuses on dynasty football.
This is my 2nd year subscribing to DLF. I love that they have content (and a forum) specifically for salary cap/contract leagues. Plus they have devy rankings 2/3 years out.

I did this one year and found that I didn't use most of the sites except Footballguys. I also had issues accessing some of the sites but that may have been user error.

To me I follow the info of certain individuals and seem to get more from podcasts and twitter these days. I also used to use Fantasy Guru but more for John Hansen and Graham Barfield who have both moved on. Between using google, youtube, twitter you can track down what you need without paying

This will be the first year since 2004 that I won't be a paying customer of FBG's.
Second for me, but my subscription is free this year :)

At the end of the day, however, if you're on a budget FBG has the draft kings $10 deal and I believe DLF has the same deal (or PFF I cant remember who I saw)

Anyone ever use Rotoviz?

After further review, I am going to just renew my FBG subscription.  I was unimpressed with I saw from a few of the other pay sites I looked at and don't think they can come close to delivering the value  I've been receiving here.  The grass isn't always greener.

FBG is good value in general. I have my gripes with some of the content. i would prefer an "a-la carte" option and would probably only choose like 4 things

I would rate the top 3 paid sites this way:

                                                                    1. Footballguys

                                                                    2. Footballguys

                                                                    3. Footballguys

I was always a fan of Hansen. He's a good analyst.

A couple of things annoyed me recently. First, they re-did their site the previous year and it still had bugs and some features weren't working during the early part of the football season. He was a little flippant about the site complaints.  Then this past January he announced that he had sold his site a few years ago, but had remained under an employment contract. I realized that he had cut down his contributions to the site, but it just felt disingenuous to not say anything earlier. I guess they were afraid to lose subscribers.  I ended up leaving Fantasy Guru.

As far as the OP's discussion:  I've been a subscriber to this site for countless years (the Cheatsheet days).  I think the quality of the analysis has gone down over the years. Rather focusing on what they do well, I think they expanded too much and try to do everything now (but at a lesser quality). That said, I'm still here. My favorite feature is the use of managing multiple teams with the site's reports.

Personally I prefer the deep dive analysis that you see on DFS sites. Like Aunt Jemima wrote, you can pretty much pick and choose what you need throughout the net.

Yes...very very informative. They were the originators of the Zero RB theory.

This is what I am thinking. I have never gone this late into a year without being a member of a site. I'm having trouble justifying paying for the information. It's kind of like the transition to free porn on the internet back in the day.  I don't even want to know the ranks anymore. I just want to gather the info and put my own ranks together. I feel there is too much group think when it comes to rankings.

When Guru got rid of the forums that was it for me.
