Movies you will watch over again and again

I agree on all those except Trainspotting. Great movie but one and done for me. It’s a little too disturbing.

Agree there are some disturbing scenes, but I think -for me at least - that there are enough comedic and fun parts that it has always been rewatchable.   I'm a big fan of Ewan Mcgregor too, so maybe that helps sway me.     Requiem For A Dream is one that I have never wanted to rewatch though because it feels darker throughout the movie w/o much counter balance.

Most of mine have been mentioned in here already.  Don't see it much being aired anymore, but a few years ago, it seemed like it was always on and always sucked me in:

The Poseidon Adventure

Leslie Neilsen (small role), Ernest Borgnine, Gene Hackman, Shelly Winters...how could you not love this movie?

Lots of good ones already mentioned, but did I miss:

- Rocky through Rocky IV

- Snatch

Edit - I see [scooter] mentioned Rocky

Cut down on the screen time. That ADD is rough. GF I and GF II are maybe the two best movies of all time.

So I’ve heard. Keep meaning to try to watch them.

Yeah Trainspotting certainly isn’t Requiem level disturbing

Bunch of others have already been listed, but I don't think I saw anyone else list Reservoir Dogs.  Anywhere in the movie as a starting point is fine.

First time I watched it, I walked out I thought it was so bad.

two great rainyday movies there. now that so much of their work looks cartoony from tropetition, Ed Wood may come out of this era as the best of the Burton/Depps. such genuine love of weirdness in that. and any chance to dance around in Charlie Kaufman's head is a treat. i even liked Synecdoche

Despite some awful props falling this is an excellent movie.  The plot is very good IMO.

For older movies...

- Any Clint western

- The original The Taking of Pelham 123 (Robert Shaw, Walter matthau, Jerry Stiller, James Broderick)

- The Bridge On the River Kwai (william holden, alec guinness)

- Jaws I

- Doctor Zhivago if you have 3 hours to spare

It would definitely take me less time to list movies I wouldn't watch multiple times that I have liked (hell, even ones i remember not liking).

There are a handful of movies I know I've seen 100+ times.

I have 300 channels and all the movie’s listed in this thread should be on a continuous loop on at least 1 of them.

Almost Famous needs to be included here.

A guy I went to HS with was semi-depicted in BHD as he was a Ranger in Mogadishu for all of that business.  He was actually a consultant for the film.

And good call on TLS.  Haven't seen that in a handful of years.

These 3 were on my list as well.

I'd add to that:

Big Trouble In Little China

any of the Indiana Joneses

and well, A Few Good Men, of course :coffee:

Plenty of great options already listed, but several I personally have seen numerous times . . .

The Sure Thing
Sneakers
Shooter
A Long Kiss Goodnight
Predator
No Way Out
Absolute Power
Pain & Gain

Not saying they are great movies, but I enjoy them nonetheless.
