All this talk of states you like, dislike, where you live, where you want to live, etc got me thinking. List your top 5 U.S. cities but please exclude the city/town you live in now. You don't have to rank them (I didn't) but you certainly can. I haven't travelled out of North America so I'm not qualified to speak on any non-US cities (other than Canadian cities - Vancouver is terrific) but feel free to bring foreign cities into the discussion.
GM's Top 5
Just missed the cut: Louisville, Seattle, Ft. Worth, Boston.
Have never been to: New York City , Miami, Nashville (driving through doesn't count).

GM's Top 5
- Chicago, IL. Only been once, but that was enough. What a treasure of a city. Food, people, culture, architecture; all spectacular from my visit. Now, this was done in July, so I'm sure winter might change my mind, but Chicago is awesome.
- New Orleans, LA. Been several times, had many fraternity brothers from NOLA and it's hard to find a more fun place in the country. The food is superlative, the nightlife is sublime and the rich music seems to just ooze out of every street corner.
- San Francisco, CA. Yeah, the homeless situation is getting out of hand and it's very sad, but this is a phenomenal city that is perfect for walking. So many different, unique sections packed into a dense area it's almost hard to believe the contrast. I'll take New Orleans cuisine over any other style, but for different cultural dining experiences, San Francisco is the place to be.
- Austin, TX. I grew up in Dallas, but when I go back to Texas, I much prefer Austin. Outdoor eating with relaxed, friendly people, great music and nightlife and unlike much of Texas, you get some hills.
- San Diego, CA. I haven't been there in close to 20 years, but I used to go quite often in my mid-20s. Relaxed, laid back beaches, the most gorgeous women I've ever seen and fish tacos. My god, the fish tacos.
