I see some city officials in LA are trying to get MLB to name them the 2017 and 2018 champions.

Would you really take pride in that if they granted you those titles?  I can't imagine that.  But if so, they should hold back to back parades celebrating both "victories."  :lmao:

That is utterly ridiculous.

Jomboy tweeting that Beltran’s niece says Altuve and Bregman had buzzers they wore. Why Altuve didn’t want his shirt torn off.

SMH....if this is really true......my god man. That is simply awful. Such a black eye on their careers if really true. And I love Altuve as a player. Such a gamer. Bregman...some don't like him. But he is also a hard working baller.

But if this is really true.....damn.

If I had to guess I would say the buzzers are true. Looks like a bandaid with a wire. There’s a pic of Reddick floating around on Twitter.

Dude I paid 500+ dollars for Bregman’s autographed rookie card. I’m worried about this investment lol.

Come on if that’s true they gotta strip that title and suspend guys. Baseball needs to keep some integrity here. This is ridiculous.

If it’s true this is going to be bigger than the Black Sox, Rose, steroids, you name it.

If you were cheating and Fernando Rodney still got you out in a playoff game, you should get double the punishment.

Catching up here... did the buzzer stuff only come from the supposed Beltran niece (seems the family is saying “she” isn’t related) on Twitter or was there something more reliable?

Dodgers fans must be catatonic. That sucks. I’m annoyed as a rays fan from the LDS!  I remember driving home after the playoff game and my wife asking why the rays played so much better at the trop than Houston. Sheesh.

On opening day when Altuve comes to bat, the Angels catcher needs to tear Altuve's jersey off.  Bonus points if they can get Vince McMahon and Jim Ross to announce

Looked weird at the time, like he didn't want a 3rd nipple revealed.   Makes total sense now.     No denying these guys Cheated.

Edit: Scumbags

Altuve probably goes from first ballot hall of famer to not getting in if they prove this.

I’m in shock. I think he did it.

He keeps everyone from tearing his jersey at home plate then runs into the dugout to change shirts. Right after the almost the most epic home run imaginable.

Not get in? He has to worry about how long it is until he can cash his next check.

What do you mean? Lifetime ban?

I am sure he’s got plenty of money no matter what happens...

IIRC - pitchers threw at Arod for the steroids.   I wouldn't get too comfortable in the box as an Astro going forward.

If accusations are true....that might be on the table. But one year ban I think is more likely.

At any rate, I think he's suspended indefinitely pending further investigation .

If they wore buzzers in the World Series that’s the biggest scandal in history and I don’t see how anyone can.

The buzzer was first done in 1900 by the Phillies.

The report said they stopped in early 2018.

Isn't that vid of Altuve HR's of Chapman in 2019?

Edit: it was 2019

Just makes me wonder why the commish didn't want to go after the players at all.  Seems silly to give them immunity.

I believe we are going to see more come out than what was reported.

I'm just saying what the full report said.  They had full immunity.  That was how the commish was able to get such intricate details to their cheating.  It also said that the trash can banging stopped when they figured out a better way, but they didn't disclose the "better way."

Again, just going off of what it said.

Sheik, it’s all tainted.

Can’t even say we were 8 outs and a managerial decision to put in Cole away.

The Astros are a punchline.

You can think that.  But I'm telling you, it's still not as big a deal as everyone is making it out to be.

Just out of curiosity, why is wearing a buzzer worse than the banging of a trash can?

Buddy with all due respect if this buzzer thing is true it’s maybe the biggest on the field sports scandal ever.

See my above.  Why is a buzzer worse than what had already been reported?

Because they stopped it in 2018 and then decided on another route.

Also, I dunno, getting the pitches buzzed into you just seems more ridiculous.

More ridiculous than a guy banging a trash can in the dugout to signal them?  Really?

I still think it's hilarious.

Using your eyes to steal signs - Totally cool
Using technology to steal signs before 2017 - Cool
Using technology after 2017 - Not Cool
Transmitting signals via a trash can - Hitlerish
Transmitting signals via a buzzer - NO GREATER SIN IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND!!!!!!!

That completely misses the point.  MLB sent a memo in Sept 2017 threatening severe consequences for electronic sign stealing and the Astros kept on doing it.  The punishment is for essentially giving the league office the finger and acting like they are above the law.  MLB couldn't allow such a blatant disregard of the rules to go unpunished.
