[Dynasty] : Brian Hill, RB - Atlanta Falcons (1 Viewer)

Yep I'm all in.  Have him in almost every league now since he has been dropped.

He has the profile to be a workhorse back.

Brian Hill rushed 11 times for 57 yards, adding two catches for -2 yards and one score in Atlanta's 14-10 loss to the Broncos in the Hall of Fame game.

Initially thought to be battling rookie Qadree Ollison for the team's "big back" role, Hill outright out-dueled Ito Smith in Atlanta's first showcase of the 2019 season. Hill (6'1/219) flashed strength in lowering his head and trucking for extra yards on one play while showing pass-catching chops in hauling in the team's only receiving touchdown of the evening. Smith merely averaged 2.0 YPC on three totes following an underwhelming rookie year. It's obviously early, but this has suddenly become a camp battle to monitor behind the Falcons' clear-cut 1A back Devonta Freeman.

Brian Hill rushed four times for seven yards in the Falcons' third preseason game.

Hill was the third back in the game after Devonta Freeman and Ito Smith. He did get run with Matt Ryan. The Falcons' television booth believes Ito Smith has solidified No. 2 duties, leaving Hill and Qadree Ollison duking it out for No. 3 status. Hill closes the book on the preseason having carried the ball 27 times for 99 yards (3.66 yards). He added three catches. If Hill is going to come into re-draft value as the Falcons' 1B back, it's not going to be until later in the season. He does have the skill-set to emerge as a short-yardage specialist.

Brian Hill rushed 20 times for 61 yards in the Falcons' Week 10 win over the Saints, adding one reception for 10 additional yards and a touchdown.

Hill is looking at a potential three-down role in the future if Devonta Freeman (ankle, foot) has to miss time. He played well as both a rusher and receiver in relief of Freeman on Sunday, regularly bursting through the line against the Saints’ struggling defense. Kenjon Barner is more of a change-of-pace option and doesn't figure to threaten Hill's early-down work. He'll be an upside RB2 in Week 11 against the Panthers' run-funnel defense if Freeman is inactive.

Coach Dan Quinn said he'd be "confident" with Brian Hill in a lead role if Devonta Freeman (foot) is sidelined.

Hill offers enough size (6-foot-1 and 220-pounds) to handle a three-down load. He's also proven capable of providing efficient production as both a rusher (28-101-1) and receiver (3-24-1) this season. Hill largely out-played Ito Smith (concussion, IR) during the preseason and has seemingly earned the coaching staff's trust to this point. He deserves to be one of the week's most-popular waiver wire additions, particularly ahead of a matchup against the Panthers' run-funnel defense.

In my main league we still do a waiver order, I'm 4 right now. Fingers crossed there's a couple owners content or have somebody else in mind.
With Freeman likely to miss two weeks, he’s a definite add for anyone that either needs help at RB. Or doesn’t want him in an opponents hands. I’m in the 4 spot too and luckily my opponent next week owns Freeman and is behind me on waivers, so I’ll be going for him. Whether I get him or now, I’ll make sure he doesn’t.

That line has been bad, but Hill has talent and can contribute in the passing game as well.  I wouldn't be that surprised to see him earn a role next year and make them comfortable bringing Freeman back slowly.

Hottest waiver pickup of the week and no chatter?  Guessing most of you are looking to pick him up but dont want to bring attention to the situation......

I bid a lot and picked him up yesterday.  I hope for 10+ points each of the next 2 weeks.  Gotta get through these byes.

No idea what to expect but I do think he gets 15+ touches each game.

There's a decent chance the Falcons have their new workhorse RB for a few years.  He fits the profile of a workhorse back.  He's not Todd Gurley but he can get the job done and is versatile.  He might look like a poor man's version of Melvin Gordon and stick for a year or two.

One thing is for sure, RB is not near the list of the Falcons top needs this offseason.

He is in my flex this week, over such guys as Derrick Henry, Tyler Lockett, Adam Thielen, T.Y. Hilton, and Evan Engram.  I think he will outscore all of them.

I was able to get him for $1 out of $200 budget thanks to this forum.  I am not planning on him being a star, but he is worth a shot to see if he can preform.

Every year it seems a RB emerges out of nowhere to win fantasy leagues. Last year it was Damien Williams. Im wondering if this year its Hill.
That’s what I’m hoping for. Rolled the dice and spent my last 25 FAAB dollars on him.  Good situation if Freeman sits multiple weeks. Since Atlanta is out of playoff contention, I don’t see them rushing Freeman back.

I hope you’re right!

I just have a feeling this isn't a Ty Johnson situation. There is zero incentive to throw Freeman out the rest of the year, this should be Hill's show and last time I checked this is still a dynamic offense. Blow it up this week and his wheels are greased the rest of the way. He shouldnt be, but if he is sitting on the wire you drop him for your kicker then make the decision of who to put in there at 4pm.

I'm a Freeman owner and made a decent FAAB bid to get him. Just in case Freeman misses more time/gets IR'd I gotta have his handcuff; Atlanta's RB strength of schedule is terrible but it's somewhat negated by the Tecmo Bowl offense/weapons they have.

I was able to secure Brian Hill in a FAAB waiver wire for $13 of real $100 budget, out bid 4 others with two managers out of money.

I really only need him this week, would be huge if he comes through and scores like 20 +.  With Barkley, J Williams, and Lockett, Metcalf on bye I had to make a move to even stand a chance this week. Brian Hill may just be the remedy to make this week be competitive and even pull off an upset.

All because I landed here after hearing the news and watching this guy run and catch and score. Not fond of ATL, but what the heck, these guys were a playoff team and perhaps Arthur lit a fire under their ###.

I got him and Julio. Tempted to start Hill and bench Julio vs Panthers DBs. Hill against that weak run D looks too good to have to watch Julio struggle with some seriously good corners.

I got him this week as I got Freeman. I have Gordon, Ekler and Michel as my other backs not starting Sony against the stout Eagled Run D. I'm rolling with Gordon/Ekler duo SD backfield as my RB1 and 2. I got Landry, Sutton, Samuel, Ridley, JuJu as my WR with the ability to flex a RB/WR/TE and I have Ertz and Fant and starting Ertz right now

I'm rolling with

RB Gordon

RB Ekler

WR Suton

WRLandry

Flex Hill

for now.

Would you start him over Damien Williams or Singletary in ppr?
Im rolling Singletary and Coleman over Hill with Williams also being on my Bench for now with Barkley on bye.

Too many meh RBs to choose from.

Hill can flop just like Freeman did many games this season just like any of them can flop.

Another great waiver wire pickup, not! Pure garbage. Why would I think hill would do anything when freeman has sucked all year.

Brian Hill rushed 15 times for 30 yards in the Falcons' 29-3, Week 11 win over the Panthers.

He added an eight-yard catch on three targets. Hill was downright awful against the league's worst run defense, showing no explosion and little change-of-direction ability. He had 11 yards on 11 carries deep into the fourth quarter before runs of four and 11 yards down to the one-yard line. Hill then had a one-yard touchdown called back on holding. He didn't deserve it. Qadree Ollison scored from two yards out earlier in the game when the Falcons appeared to go a different way in the backfield for a stretch. Kenjon Barner and Ollison combined for 6-29-1 rushing. Hill gets the Bucs' No. 1 run defense in Week 12 if Devonta Freeman (foot) remains sidelined.

Man, I couldn’t watch the game, so was only gamecasting, but I was wondering how many times one man could take seeing Hill rushes for 1 yard.
