Big news for the Patriots, with No. 10 still available.

NFL is reinstating Patriots’ WR Josh Gordon, league source tells ESPN.

Patriots offense is getting just the boost it needed. WR Josh Gordon is now eligible to return to New England.

The Patriots just got a huge boost as they look to defend their Super Bowl title. The NFL is reinstating receiver Josh Gordon, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN.com (Twitter link).

Gordon filed for reinstatement a couple of weeks ago, and it didn’t take too long for Roger Goodell to let him back in. Gordon was indefinitely suspended back in December for multiple violations of the league’s substance abuse policy, but New England made it very clear they weren’t giving up on the talented young wideout.

As someone who has had Gordon for ages, caution is in order. Brady and the Pats simply use the threat of him to open up the underneath routes. He's a glorified clear out. I'll still draft in hopes, but...

Matthew Berry @MatthewBerryTMR

13.54 PPG for Gordon last yr when getting 3+ targets from Brady.  On a per game basis, that’s WR28 (ahead of Calvin Ridley). Think that’s about right. NE still run first offense, we don’t what kind of shape he’s in & there’s obv risk w/ him missing gms. Jokes aside-WR3 w/ upside

Wow.   This has fairly big downstream effects on James white and Edelman too. Though maybe it pushes them down more and makes them better value for when gordon likely flames out again.

Rich Hribar @LordReebs

Gordon’s three games played last year without Gronk... 4-100 on 7 targets 5-130-1 on 9 targets 4-81 on 12 targets

I'm not buying the first part. Edelman gets his and then some with Gronk has been out. He's averaged 10 targets a game since becoming a starter. Even more when Gronk doesn't play. I posted in another thread that Edelman without Gronk is essentially a Top 5 or 6 WR. White is a weekly scheme / mismatch that will see a ton of targets one week and not be as big part of the game plan the next. IMO, this hurts the other receivers more than those two guys.

I just don't think playing pro ball is healthy for the guy.  Was reading an interview with him last season about how he finally realized he was an addict and was getting treatment not because he was being made to but for himself and his family.  Then a few months later he's suspended again.

Gordon needs a low stress job where he won't be tempted by Dr's pushing pain pills on players or any other crap.

why wouldnt you want a guy in the 4th who is going to put up 1000+ ?

he absolutely slayed without gronk

All we know is that when you were posting obsessively about the guy he got suspended over and over.

You stopped, he got reinstated.

Clear relationship here, so I propose (for your guy Gordon's sake of course) that you should abstain from posting about him ever again.

He's back.

Next thing we hear will be that he's not showing up to camp yet because he is working through some personal stuff.

Along with some snazzy twitter work out clips

you draft Gordon in any round this year and you deserve all the misery that comes your way.

That’s 70/1600/5.5 over 16 games, or WR15 in PPR (OBJ level)
Why does Gronk matter?  He didn't do much in terms of pass receiving last year.  Seems like noise unless they were passing more because they didn't have Gronk road grading on the edge.
