Some initial thoughts:

QB's:

  • Winston - likely not available in anything deeper than 12-team leagues, but if available would be a great option for the upcoming weeks
  • Foles - I think Minshew mania has officially ended and while on a bye this week, you could do worse if you're desperate for a QB
  • Daniel Jones (can be had for free prior to tonight's game) - pending tonight's outcome, has a decent matchup next week vs, NYJ
  • Jimmy G - looked very good on TNF, there's definitely worse streaming options out there....especially since he now has Sanders to assist with the passing game

RB's:

  • Breida - similar to WInston above, if he's somehow available or was dropped, he's absolutely worth adding and since we're already looking at week 10, I'd spend a #1 Priority if available
  • Guice - potential RB stash, but i wouldn't expect too much
  • Hunt - just got an alert that "Hunt will Definitely have a role"....what that role will be is unclear, but worth adding in case....especially for Chubb owners
  • Armstead - Fournette has been a bellcow in JAX, but even in a game this past weekend where the Jags looked like Jags, he still got 5rec for 65yds and is a Fournette injury away from RB2 status
  • Ty Montgomery - just got an update that Bell going for an MRI... no clue the severity, but Montgomery would be in for a nice workload if LevBell is out (although, I think i may have learned my lesson for RB flyers named "Ty")
  • Pollard - premium handcuff - can be added for free before tonight's game
  • A. Mattison - premium handcuff and could even be a RB1 if Cook goes down

WR's:

  • Preston Williams - looked GREAT this past weekend - keep an eye on his injured knee though - just got an alert he's out for the season
  • DeVante Parker - the DParker carousel - actually looked serviceable though
  • Diontae Johnson - bad week this week, but could still have value as a flex play
  • J. Crowder - decent PPR play
  • J. Gordon - I personally dropped him in every league I had him in, but could be worth a flyer with the good landing spot in SEA
  • Parris Campbell & Pascal - mentioned above, so won't touch on them
TE's:

  • I got nothin... every week there seems to be a TE who was like 2% owned and ends up as a top 10 TE.... so your guess is as good as mine.

Defense**:

  • BAL - looked very good vs a very good offense in NE - nice matchup next week & for the fantasy playoffs
  • Indy - has Mia next week and Jax the following
  • NYG - has NYJ next week... and Miami actually looked decent vs. them.
** couple DST's that could be sneaky plays b/c they're currently on a BYE (Especially in Yahoo where you can drop players on your bench even if they've already played):

  • NO - upcoming schedule: ATL, TB, CAR, ATL, SF, IND, TEN - Sure TB has been putting up some good offensive numbers, but the Saints have looked pretty good and can be added for free.
  • LAR - same as above; not quite as good IMO, but they have PIT next week and CHI the following week

Also, my drops for the week in order to make room for the above:

  • Ty Johnson - worst use of FAAB I've ever spent
  • DJax - even if he does play again this season, I doubt he'll ever be at 100%
  • Amendola - was an optomistic PPR play... my optimism is gone
  • S. Shepard - back in the concussion protocol... I don't see him making a return to help fantasy teams this season... cut bait
  • Dorsett - Sanu is the new WR2 in NE, Dorsett can be cut
  • McCoy - If have room, could still hold, but if in a bind, I think Dam Williams is back to the RB1 in KC
  • Gore - Singletary...nuff said
  • Robbie Anderson - still probably worth holding, but I have ZERO faith week-to-week on him putting up flex, much-less WR2 numbers
  • Hardman - can officially be dropped now
  • C. Edmonds - sounding like DJ might be back next week and now with Drake there too, his value is gone
  • Chris Herndon - can be dropped before ever being added

I used one of your strategies yesterday after Dio Johnson put up a crappy game. Yahoo league - I sat Dio and played D.K. in the Flex and proceeded to drop him and pick up NO D/ST. I just kinda like what NO will have to offer. Sneaky play or Shark play we'll see. I also have Kamara and Murray. The bye week is over - Let's Go Saints! Will have to drop CAR D/ST to make room for Mahomes coming off IR / OUT and prolly keep Stafford around to see how things pan out with Mahomes.

Edit: I don't imagine Dio Johnson will get a whole lot of love after yesterday's outing and I may, if my teams allows, pick him back up again. But, playing J Samuels for now is enough PIT. And that was a TD. Never touched the ground. Can't believe someone didn't spot it - could have cost them the game. Geesh!

IIFC, the coaching staff really liked/ wanted Ty, but then management signed LevBell... so I'd lean Montgomery

nice!

I'm planning to drop Ty Johnson for NO, but am in a keeper league and am seeing if I can talk another manager into a trade where I can throw him in so I can get a bye-week QB for Watson. If I can't make that happen before kickoff tonight, I'll be dropping him for NO and then see which crappy QB is available to me (slim pickings in this particular league)

I just get this sense that NO is going to take no prisoners and get on a Super Bowl roll, if you will. Everything is in place and this could be Drew Brees last hurrah to ride off into the sunset and join Elway and P Manning. NO D/ST makes sense right now from a skill perspective.

I'd drop Ty now and not wait to get NO D/ST. That's what happened to me thinking that someone else could be onto it lol.

Eagles Defense has a cakewalk schedule.

I'd be trading for Miles Sanders he's just getting warmed up. put together yet ANOTHER decent week with good stats. easy schedule upcoming now's the time to buy 'low'

One caveat about Breida - he's talented he's scoring pts but he's been nicked up in almost every game this season.you simply can't trust him sit him he scores 50 pts, start him he goes 5-60 and sprains an ankle. not worth the hassle.

If Bonnafon is still out there, may be a solid add and hold. CMC may be cleared from any concussion, but if CMC continues to get dinged, Bonnafon IMHO holds a little more value than a guy like Armstead just in terms of potentially not having to share as many carries with other backup RBs on the team.

Would it be Montgomery or Bilal Powell?
Montgomery didn't even touch the ball. Powell got a couple carries.

NYJ schedule is good. Whoever gets the ball could be flex worthy if Bell is out. Really wouldn't be surprised to see the NYJ just shut Bell down if it's anything significant and go into hyper tank mode.

While your pickup list has mainly guys already owned in my league, I find this drop list to be very solid.  It's literally half of the equation when making a waiver move.

Yeah I noticed that, which is why I asked the question regarding having Montgomery on his list of pickups.   At first glance it might seem like Powell would be next in line, but I could easily see a scenario where they committee them with Montgomery getting the passing work and Powell as the between tackles runner.    In this scenario, Montgomery could have the slightly higher floor considering how often they tend to check down.

who is the next man up in miami after the unicorn got shut down?  he might have  at least some  value in deeper or desperate leagues.

Walton suspended.   Kalen Ballage and his 2.0 ypc next up for the next 4 weeks.

Why bail on Herndon?  He was practicing on a limited basis and appears he could be cleared to go possibly this week.

Ballage will be the guy most will look to snag, but I actually wonder if Myles Gaskin gets a look. Guy is undersized but looked really solid in college, and not sure Laird is anything but a JAG.

PS -- big thanks/props to @TZMarkie for this weekly thread!

TE: Gesicki is worth a look. Over the last four weeks he has:

3 catches; 7 targets; 51 yards

4 catches; 4 targets; 41 yards

2 catches; 3 targets; 10 yards

6 catches; 6 targets; 95 yards

Fitzmagic

And with both Walton out for four games and Preston Williams injured for season, Gesicki is starting to look like one of the primary guys.  H

He has good matchups:

Colts week 10

Jets week 14

Giants week 15

Bengals week 16

My thoughts on Herndon are the following:

  • He was suspended for 4 games; so while that alone is basically nothing to worry about, but that +
  • he gets injured after his suspension is up, so even now in week 10, he's still not 100% +
  • Ryan Griffin has actually been pretty consistently decent at TE lately; so that takes away a bit of his upside at TE +
  • this offense is a mess.... they just lost to MIA and looked terrible.
Any one of these by itself wouldn't be a big deal, but when you add them all together, he's just not someone I really want to invest in unless it's a very deep league/ bench.

Hope this helps

Pascal or parker for a one week rental at wr?
Looking at the same 2

Right now, I love Pascal being #1 in Indy with TY hurting...though, Id feel better if Brisset wasn't hurt.  Plus going against Miami this week is tasty.

He is my #2 priority this week behind the dropped Damian Williams.  May go for both, but would have to give up McClaurin to do so (redraft).  I may do so as long as they go with Haskins, I have zero confidence in that offense.

Long term, Parker may be the safer bet with Williams out...but just this week I like Pascal better.

McKissic now.   Guice is a great gamble after next week.   Im going to try to add both this week since I need help this week and have the room to gamble on Guice.
Thanks for the reply...I’m thinking that this week is the best opportunity to add Guice (especially) on the cheap

im gonna drop mccoy and maclaurin for some needed players this week.  i cant see playing either right now in their situations.  I love scary terry but that situation sucks

I consider this a positive for Herndon.  If Ryan Griffin can do well with his limited skills, just imagine what a genuinely talented Herndon will do when his chance arrives.  And his chance will arrive.  It's just a question of time.

im gonna drop mccoy and maclaurin for some needed players this week.  i cant see playing either right now in their situations.  I love scary terry but that situation sucks
I plan on dropping McCoy as well.  He may have a big week yet this season but terrible weeks are more likely.

Keenan Cole is someone who I always liked but never understood why he fell off the earth after the first couple games last year. With Foles coming back he may be someone to keep an eye on going forward after good production last game.

If you had #1 waiver and needed a te.  Would you hold onto waiver and pick up one after waivers clear?  Trying to hold onto #1 spot in case there is a major injury to a rb and backup. Is available.  I'm in 10 team league.

Who are the TEs available?

How would you rank parker, pascal, tate, and mclaurin for this week and ROS?

My list

Myles Gaskin, RB - Ballage is getting 2.0 YPC and really looks bad; more interested in Gaskin.

Gus Edwards, RB - One of a number of RB handcuffs who sees decent usage regardless of field position (aka handcuff-with-benefits). In a blowout he'd get more run as Baltimore faces Cincy his week.

DeVante Parker, WR - Not sure this is the best WR to own in Miami but worth the dart.

Chester Rogers, WR - Campbell out, Rogers will start ahead of Deon Cain.

Mike Gesicki, TE - inconsistent but definitely can be a big RZ target for Fitz. No Williams helps him out, I'm dropping Jonnu Smith for him.

Jacob Hollister, TE - There is a Dissly-sized TE hole for Russell WIlson and this dude played 59 snaps last game.

Delaine Walker, TE - He may be available on the wire, he may practice this week abd his return would banish Jonnu Smith to the Shadow Realm.

Zane Gonzalez, K - Has a good matchup this week and Kingsbury is still a coward.

Michael Badgley, K - "Money Badger" has a strong and accurate leg historically and is coming off 5/6 FGs last week.

Might Ed Dickson come back and get a lot of snaps over Hollister?
