Otis is going to need suggestions.  Now in the end it will not matter as it is fairly clear that his wife and daughters will have final say, but lets at least get some names out there for them to consider.  In offering suggestions remember Otis' lifestyle.  Likely he will be shouting the dog's name in to the night somewhere in the nicer sections of Long Island as the dog chases off after a rabbit.  Consider the name from a neighbor's perspective who has to hear Otis shouting this in the dark.

 
Rocky.....average citizens think he has a penchant for the famed prize fighter. Those in the know realize its short for Rockefeller.

 
I still hold out for Midik.  I am picturing Otis on an overnight transcontinental flight, or maybe even one to Japan.  He has been striking up a conversation with HBFA, not out of any real desire to strike anything up, but out of boredom and reflexive muscle memory.  They get around to talking about their pets.  Otis then pulls out his phone and says "Would you like to see a picture of Midik?"

You've got to either do something like ####head/damnit/shatforbrains OR a normal human name like Ken or Mike.

 
He should just take the top name on the "most popular dog names of 2019" list so that when he drops it off at the shelter it at least saves the new owner from having to make the dog learn a new name.
