How the 2019-2020 NFL Playoffs will happen (1 Viewer)

I've been doing some thinking, and I think I've got an idea of how this year's playoffs will shape up, and who's going to win.  So, without further adieu, here's who's going to win each game and what the final score is going to be for each game of the playoffs:

AFC Wild Card Playoff Buffalo Bills vs. Houston Texans

Final Score: Texans 22, Bills 20

AFC Wild Card Playoff Tennessee Titans vs. New England Patriots

Final Score: Patriots 23, Titans 20

NFC Wild Card Playoff Minnesota Vikings vs. New Orleans Saints

Final Score: Saints 30, Vikings 24 (OT)

NFC Wild Card Playoff Seattle Seahawks vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Final Score: Eagles 30, Seahawks 24 (OT)

NFC Divisional Playoff Philadelphia Eagles vs. San Francisco 49ers

Final Score: 49ers 26, Eagles 22

AFC Divisional Playoff Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens

Final Score: Ravens 29, Texans 21

AFC Divisional Playoff New England Patriots vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Final Score: Chiefs 23, Patriots 21

NFC Divisional Playoff New Orleans Saints vs. Green Bay Packers

Final Score: Packers 24, Saints 22

AFC Championship Kansas City Chiefs vs. Baltimore Ravens

Final Score: Ravens 27, Chiefs 23

NFC Championship Green Bay Packers vs. San Francisco 49ers

Final Score: 49ers 25, Packers 21

Super Bowl LIV San Francisco 49ers vs. Baltimore Ravens

Final Score: Ravens 26, 49ers 24

I've done very little thinking but here's my prognostication anyway:

Wildcard Weekend:

Bills...16    Texans...24

Titans...12  Patriots...24

Vikings...13  Saints...34

Seahawks...31  Eagles...27

Divisional Weekend:

Patriots...19  Chiefs...29

Texans...10  Ravens...34

Saints...31  Packers...20

Seahawks...19  Niners...31

Championship Sunday:

Saints...39   Niners...23

Chiefs...27   Ravens...24

Super Bowl:

 Saints...29   Chiefs...34

I'm just gonna go with what I want to happen (and think plausible)

Quick trivia - does anyone know the current record holder? :oldunsure:

I can't think of his name but it was the dude from the Redskins back in the 80's....only reason I remember that is because he was a rookie making his first start

I'm not going to post how I think all these games go, but I think it's likely that NO is playing in GB, and I feel like most are assuming NO wins on the frozen tundra........feels like a classic over-look.

I like KC to rep the AFC and either GB or the 9ers out of the NFC.....I'm leaning GB because of the Rodgers factor and playoff inexperience of the 9ers.......I like KC for similar reasons.....Mahomes factor and Lamar with no playoff experience.

I would love this to actually happen!  I picked up Tannehill and AJ Brown on waivers this season and have thoroughly enjoyed watching them, along with Henry, play.

As OJ Simpson once said, “I’ll take a stab at it.”

I am one of those who believe NOS beats GB, on the frozen tundra.

not overlooking it - just think NO is a much better team. Agree it’s less likely than some might thing because of HFA, but I still think NOS eeks it out.

i ike KC to rep the AFC and either GB or the 9ers out of the NFC.....I'm leaning GB because of the Rodgers factor and playoff inexperience of the 9ers.......I like KC for similar reasons.....Mahomes factor and Lamar with no playoff experience.
Seems like many are overlooking Andy Reid’s abysmal playoff track record. Getting past the Ravens in BAL will be tough.

@Hot Sauce Guy I understand that holding the opinion that BAL and SF both wont make it is in the minority and is probably unlikely, but its not impossible and I think it's more interesting than claiming all the higher seeds will win each of their games

IMO nothing wrong, or funny, with taking a different opinion than the groupthink
I didn’t suggest otherwise. if you look at my guesses I have several road teams winning in the 1st round.

what I was laughing about in response to your post was the comment about knowing the member’s playoff contest team. I thought that was intended as humor.

I see. ftr I think SF wins it all, but I am cheering for my own home team vs the weakest, most realistic AFC representative
Of course - anyone not rooting for their favorite team even if logic indicates they’re a huge underdog shouldn’t be a football fan.

if SF were a 6-seed is still be rooting for them. If I can root for them under Dennis Erickson, I can root for them anytime.
;)

But have you factored in critical elements such as weather, injuries, and overall mind set of each position group in each game?  Get back to me with those numbers

I read that one of the players is a little sad because their favorite tv series was cancelled, but I want to keep some things close to the vest until the subscriber contest is locked in.

I am sure I will be dead wrong, but just for fun...

1st Round:
Houston 19, Buffalo 13
New England 20, Tennessee 17
New Orleans 30, Minnesota 20
Philadelphia 22, Seattle 20

2nd Round:
San Francisco 37, Philadelphia 19
Baltimore 26, Houston 14
Kansas City 24, New England 21
New Orleans 23, Green Bay 17

Conference Championship Games:
Kansas City 28, Baltimore 24
New Orleans 24, San Francisco 20

Super Bowl:
New Orleans 31, Kansas City 24

Philadelphia over Seattle. We get to watch players featured in August, unfortunately, but I think itll at least have an exciting flow to it, for those who care.
I agree - this should be a super entertaining, high scoring back & forth game, and from a pure entertainment standpoint should be one of the more exciting games of this weekend.

Green Bay over San Francisco. Rodgers returns home to remind 49er fans once again that they could have had him.

awe maaaaaaaan, why you gotta go there?

that said, JimmyG isn’t a bad consolation prize considering ARod’s career arc. He’s not been awesome this year. Or last year.

Green Bay over New England. In route to defeating Baltimore, Brady's osteoporosis comes to light, leading to a fractured femur on the last kneel down. New England is forced to start a rookie QB in the Super Bowl, but it's Lafleur who is the rookie that brings it home.
Everything about that is hilarious.  Not just the Brady = old AF aspect, but the notion that the Pats will beat the Ravens. Just not feeling that at all, but I genuinely lol’d at this. Well played, sir.

Conference Championship Games:

Kansas City 28, Baltimore 24
New Orleans 24, San Francisco 20

Super Bowl:
New Orleans 31, Kansas City 24
I would be delighted with the type of drama in the championship rounds.

Probably root for the Chiefs in the SB though...

I think everyone's brackets are crushed at this point.
I'd be 3-1 but did not submit on the board. I generally don't bracket out playoffs, though if you catch me bored...

But the three are/were coin flips, and after watching SEA, I shouldn't get that game if you consider intent and process, as I was betting on a healthy Wentz.

I wasn't sure of any of these games. I think there's a lot more parity than we think due to injuries, match-ups, white uniforms tricking Brees into thinking he was on the road, etc.

Wild Card

Other than this, I think I called every game wrong
