2020 Music Thread. 9/11 - Flaming Lips, Everything Everything (1 Viewer)

I heard a song I liked this afternoon, it's maybe a bit Fatboy Slim/remix-ish but also felt like maybe the type of song that gets "rock" back near the top of the charts these days, if anyone cares.

Check Your Phone - Cheap Cuts f/Pete Wentz

Listened to a few singles by 2nd Grade yesterday and I’m looking forward to hearing their new album Hit to Hit. Know nothing about them but riyl sugary singalong power pop.

New Mondo Cozmo dropped today... it claims to be the soundtrack for a new America: I'm on board with that.

kinda liking the Foals remix album... when I'm in the mood for bootsandcatsandbootsandcats...

new Cayucas single, yeah yeah yeah works for me as an easy breezy summer tune.

Tried to listen to Fetch The Boltcutters or whatever, got about four songs in, and it sounded just like its cover, the product of a crazy woman. I love Fiona Apple's early stuff, but I have no desire to listen to a loon dirge for about four minutes a pop.

Perhaps it deserves another listen, but that's my first impression of it.

I'm glad someone's paying attention. Who knew the Suicide Machines were still around!

I gave it a couple spins when it came out. A few good moments, and then some Yoko dolphin calls, fist banging on drywall percussion, dogs, screaming, fist on wall percussion again, more shouting or perhaps screaming, a Melody here or there. Then it was over. Oh yeah, there was some piano here and there too.

I don't get it

It's on a lot of best of the year so far lists, maybe because its general unrest is a microcosm of 2020. Shrug

I can just see many people having a girlfriend who loves it and having to grin and bear it. Oof. "Yes. That's good. Unbridled loon calls to other loons. Love it."
