all thoughts presented from a just going through things today. had a high fever from friday till yesterday so thoughts are from a mad man. and my fingers aren't working great so  I'm using on screen keyboard should be fun

Cook, Dalvin MIN RB - nobody else considered. rbs past 14 at the moment make me nauseous, so top 6 is rb easily 4 me.

best pick: cook - only player taken above value for me

worst pick: jackson. i have mahomes ranked higher but this was going to be a qb no doubt oh mahomes was round 2 anyway

@Stinkin Ref gets his man

Holloway's first two picks:

  1. 1.4 Alvin Kamara - seems I have had rather high slots in most of our early drafts. Love Kamara to bounce back with better health - also strongly considered Dalvin Cook, but I weighed the homer flavor of Kamara with the Saints who as a Mississippian, pull strongly for
  2. 2.9 Aaron Jones - finished as RB2 last year. Yes, his TDs scored will decrease and yes, the Packers drafted AJ Dillon in the second round, but Jones will remain the top RB in Green Bay and other than the TDs should perform well again. Easily 1,000 yards rushing and 40 receptions so as the 12th RB drafted, I will gladly take him.

Jacobs, Josh LVR RB - strongly considered godwin but that rb board is just so ugly to me

best pick: Godwin, right after Mixon is where he probably belongs

worst pick: ya know it's the qb

Sanders, Miles PHI RB - last rb that i want/trust. nobody else considered. the 3 players picked ahead made up the rest of my predradt list

best: 4net

worst: mostert - 12 rb on the board i had higher but same tier so shrug. just at the bottom of a tier that have top12 upside but have low floors to me

1.07 Adams, Davante GBP WR2
2.06 Drake, Kenyan ARI RB10
3.07 Edwards-Helaire, Clyde KCC RB15
4.06 Bell, Le'Veon NYJ RB19

Starting out my more typical RB-heavy after going in different directions in previous best-balls this offseason.

Don't  much like the 7-hole right now ... no issues with Adams at 7 given the Packers' bizarre refusal to supplement their pass game weapons, but IMO there's still a tier break between the top-5 RB + Thomas and the field. I'd have been happier with Hill or Julio plus an earlier 2nd-rounder like Mixon.

My top 2 RBs have a combined 0.5 seasons of RB1 performance at the NFL level ... what could go wrong? In all seriousness - Kingsbury's moves during FA and the draft amount to a huge vote of confidence in Drake as a bellcow, and I'm way optimistic on the Cards offense in general.

As for CEH ... he's prob not a guy I'll want at this price in most leagues, but as a first-round draft pick walking into a Reid / Mahomes offense, there's at least some reasonable potential for top-5 upside, and in a best-ball I'll play a little home run derby here. I was reallllly hoping Sanders would fall to me - thanks for nothing BTSW.  :censored:  Bell seemed like a good complement to the CEH pick since his range of outcomes is pretty tightly centered in RB2 territory.

1.10 - Julio Jones

2. O3 - George Kittle

3.10 - Keenan Allen

4.03 - Jonathan Taylor

Solid start at WR and TE. Julio should be Julio. Little leery about Allen with uncertainty at QB but his talent should prevail.

I think Kittle is TE2 but I have fair shares of Kelce in other best ball drafts and just wanted to switch it up a little.

Scary taking a rookie as my RB1, but love his opportunity to produce in Indy as long as he can hold on to the ball. Strongly considered LeVeon here.

3.4 Allen Robinson WR11 - was all set to take a third RB with Fournette, but @drunken slobselected him ahead of my pick. Considered Miles Sanders, but Philly has been so RBBC lately I am not sure he will get enough touches. Also considered a few other WRs, but hoping that Robinson improves with a little better QB play and he finished WR12 last season.

4.9 Chris Carson RB21 finished as RB12 last year and should remain the lead carrier in Seattle. My short list when I went to bed last night was L. Bell, David Johnson, and Calvin Ridley so I guess you can say that I settled for Carson. Considered a wide receiver also, but he seemed like the top of a rather large tier and Carson seemed like the last in his tier.

Ridley, Calvin ATL WR - I'll take him as wr1 with the rb start, should be a lot of points from him and JJ. woods was also considered

best: A.J. last of the for sure upper echelon for me

worst: David Johnson - same reason as mostert but at least mostert didn't look like #### at last viewing. i do have dj above mostert.

Parker, DeVante MIA WR - fine hopefully the carriage doesn't become a pumpkin again / considered dk

best: woods

worst: A.J. Green    don't trust him

Kinda hard to give within-draft commentary without spoilers, but I'll give it a shot.

1.01: Christian McCaffrey. Duh.

rd1-2 best value: 2.07 Travis Kelce

2.12 & 3.01: Kenny Golladay & DJ Moore. I didn't really like the RBs here, so this came down to a few WRs & Ertz.

rd3-4 best value: 4.06 Le'Veon Bell

4.12 & 5.01: Melvin Gordon & Robert Woods. Pretty even value across positions with these guys plus some others like Sutton, Conner, and Waller. I was hoping to get at least 1 RB out of these picks.

rd5-6 best value: 6.03 Courtland Sutton

I like Woods much better than Moore.

Damn you @by_the_sea_wannabe - four times the draft has come this way and that's the third time you've taken my exact guy.

5.07 Mr. Irrelevant Higbee, Tyler LAR TE7
6.06 Mr. Irrelevant McLaurin, Terry WAS WR27
7.07 Mr. Irrelevant Fant, Noah DEN TE12

There isn't much of a reception premium for TE vs. WR in this format (as opposed to the survivors or Anarchy leagues), so on its face it doesn't seem like it would make sense to spend much draft capital at TE. But even at this stage true potential difference-makers at WR are thin on the ground, and guys with 60/800/6 stat lines will be available many rounds from now - whereas last year's TE14 couldn't even manage 8ppg, so grabbing two guys with 15ppg upside seemed like a worthwhile gamble at this point.

This draft has sucked.  Everyone I'm remotely interested in is gone in the 3-4 picks prior to mine.  It's like the consensus has come in line with my perception since our last couple of drafts.

Agree. Hate this draft. Haven't wanted to make 1 pick lately, let alone 2 picks in  a row. Screw you guys...I'm goin' home. #cartman

this bodes well for IBL

Cook, Dalvin MIN RB    281.15    -
Jacobs, Josh LVR RB (Q)    187.60    -
Sanders, Miles PHI RB (Q)    207.20    -

Parker, DeVante MIA WR    246.20    -
Ridley, Calvin ATL WR (Q)

Lockett, Tyler SEA WR - end of the tier for me. very happy to have 3 of my top 28 after starting 3 rb

best: DJ baby Chark

worst: i like the whole round but i guess Gronk

Swift, D'Andre DET RB - better than kj by a good bit to me, love as rb4, he is in that same tier 4 me as guys taken 4 rounds ago

best: other than swift / brady or ryan

worst: fant - draft knocked him down a tier for me and so close to the tier above guys

Stafford, Matthew DET QB he and jones were the last of the qb 1 guys 4 me. feel more comfortable with matty

best: landry, if he fell another spot, would have been brutal to pass doubt, i could have. he was at the bottom of my predraft when i got lockett

worst: gallup- maybe I'm over reacting to the draft but he dropped a lot for me

    Hurst, Hayden ATL TE

Stafford, Matthew DET QB he and jones were the last of the qb 1 guys 4 me. feel more comfortable with matty
I see an absolute chasm between Stafford and the rest of the pack at QB.

Wentz / Stafford and everyone above them = completely confident using as every-week starter

Everyone below them = total f'in dart throw

IMO at least, and I'm probably wrong.

8.06 Wentz, Carson PHI QB13
9.07 Brown, Marquise BAL WR37
10.06 Brown, John BUF WR43
11.07 Ravens, Baltimore BAL Def2

Gotta agree with Bass ... this is the most frustrating draft I've been in all year. @Stinkin Ref - fair warning - the next time you put me between you and Bass in the draft order I'm gonna turn on autodraft to save my blood pressure.

Had to pick up a QB at some point and as I said above ... Wentz and Stafford are the last two names that don't make me nauseous as a QB1. Wentz gets the nod because he's typically fared best with a downfield burner at WR, and between FA and the draft the Eagles now have about 5 of them.

I was giddy at this WR duo possibly being Cooks and Sanders, so of course they each went one pick before me. Whatever. The Browns are decent consolation prizes in best-ball and Diggs coming to BUF should open up their offense a little more.

Honestly expected the DSTs to start coming off the board a little sooner than they did. Made sure to get one top-tier option and can mix and match from there.

it is so weird that some of you have mentioned how this draft has gone.....I feel exactly the same way....I feel like I have no clue what I am doing.....(well at least more than usual)....with each pick I seriously have no clue what direction to head and have changed my mind at the last minute I don't know how many times and just said F it.....taking a QB so early also put me on full tilt and playing catch up and damage control....I guess I love Mostert more than the average bear....I didn't even want AJ Brown or Engram or Gronk...I took a backup RB on his own team in the 7th....my third TE in the 8th....I ####### hate Ronald Jones and Sanders was a panic pick cause I needed a WR and was scared ####less of all the rookies......then I needed to add another WR....so what did I do....?....I took a ####### defense

and RBI guess I feel differently. Until the latest two or three picks, I have made a short list every round and have been able to get one of my top four almost every time. I have enjoyed the variety that we have had thanks to @Stinkin Ref and his variety of flex positons and different scoring formats. Review of Team Holloway so far:

QB - only one so far, no flex with the position and was happy to grab Matt Ryan at 7.4 and QB8. Ryan has been efficient the past two seasons and has a history of producing better in even year seasons. He was targeted in the seventh round and glad I got him. The NFC South is going to be a war zone this season and I am looking forward to some huge offensive outputs.

RB - grabbed four fairly early and am pleased with the results. Kamara at 1.4 and RB4, considered Cook, but I am a Saints follower and hoping for improved health and production for Kamara, Aaron Jones at 2.9 and RB12, finished at RB2 in 2019 and I get the Packers grabbed an RB in the second round, but Jones is a bargain at RB12. Chris Carson at 4.9 and RB21, this guy is just better than his competition and seems overlooked again, finished at RB12 in 2019 and could be around there this year. Mark Ingram at 6.9 and RB26, very competitive guy flourished in New Orleans sharing with Kamara and expect the same with the Ravens in 2020, dropped too far in my opinion.

WR - waited much, much longer than I typically do and with mandatory three and up to six with the flex felt the position needed a lot of attention. A. Robinson at 3.4 and WR11, hoping for improved QB play in Chicago and he finished at WR 8 a year ago. Next one taken at 8.9, Julian Edelman. Not sure about losing his main man and not sure about the QB, but Edelman has to be the top target, doesn't he? not wise to wait so long, but he finished at WR7 last year and drafted at WR33, so value for sure and maybe a decent WR2 for the team. Marvin Jones 9.4 and WR35. Very behind the scenes guy, but he fits with Stafford well. Jeudy at 10.9 and WR45. Not sure I am a Drew Lock fan, but Jeudy is really talented. C. Kirk at 11.4 and WR48, he bettered Fitz a year ago and the Cardinals seem ready to explode so hoping he remains highly involved and even sees less coverage with Hopkins there. P. Williams at 12.9 and WR52, five straight WR picks and now I feel better about the position I ignored forever. Williams showed a lot and hope that he is healthy at the beginning of the season.

TE - D. Waller at 5.4 and TE6, the tight end scoring is minimally upped so not a focus of mine, but he seemed like low hanging fruit in the fifth round. I could see him remaining the top targeted receiver in Las Vegas.

DST - The Saints DST so I did not get caught waiting too long like I have in almost every one of these leagues with ability to flex DST and they have steroid-like scoring.

A seemingly slow start, but I am coming around on the team make-up a little over halfway done.

Here's how things are looking for me at the halfway point.

QB
11.01 Jared Goff
12.12 Jimmy Garoppolo
13.01 Kirk Cousins
Three solid QB2 types (with a shot at low-end QB1). I was the last to take a QB, but the second team to get my 3rd QB. That is often how I like to do best ball. I was a little worried a run might come in rd11-12 but it did not.

RB
1.01 Christian McCaffrey
4.12 Melvin Gordon
6.12 David Montgomery
9.01 James White
I was hoping to hit this position pretty hard in the first third of the draft and I got 4 of them. Including CMC, thanks to that #1 pick.

WR
2.12 Kenny Golladay
3.01 DJ Moore
5.01 Robert Woods
7.01 Deebo Samuel
8.12 Michael Gallup
Pretty solid group here. Most of these guys were fantasy WR2s last year, or close.

TE
10.12 TJ Hockenson
I'd been thinking I would get my first TE sooner, but I kept not being thrilled with the value available and didn't want to force it. That changed with Hockenson, who I hadn't expected to see available at the end of rd10

PK & DEF
none
I haven't gotten started yet on my specialists.

Best value picks in my eyes.
rd 1-2: 2.07 Travis Kelce
rd3-4: 4.06 Le'Veon Bell
rd5-6: 6.03 Courtland Sutton
rd7-8: 8.09 Julian Edelman
rd9-10: 10.03 JK Dobbins
rd11-12: 11.08 49ers Defense

Second half of the draft will mainly be about filling out my flex spots and specialists.

Based on my experience in MFL10s, IMO this strategy is the mortal nuts. In fact I planned on employing it myself, but it turns out I don't have the brass ones to wait until the 11th round the way you did.

I'll be that guy..........

We give @drunken slob a timeout.

What say you commish...........  @Stinkin Ref
  1. after @OldMilwaukee gave this rundown, I did some research and I think that @drunken slob has reached elite drafting sluggard status:
  2. @ 11:30 pm last night, he picked in the Ref Top Gun draft, after being OTC for four hours
  3. Immediately departed even though everyone behind him had pre-drafted and he was again OTC
  4. Showed up this morning to post a pick in the Mock Draft Forum to replace a pick that was skipped on while he was OTC in both drafts last night while he was on MFL
  5. Still hasn't showed up for over 16 hours OTC, when he was actually OTC when he first left
and yet, here we are drafting in May when no sports are playing and we're not even sure that the NFL will begin football in four months.

Sanders, Miles PHI RB - last rb that i want/trust. nobody else considered. the 3 players picked ahead made up the rest of my predradt list

best: 4net

worst: mostert - 12 rb on the board i had higher but same tier so shrug. just at the bottom of a tier that have top12 upside but have low floors to me
going to eat....a lot

liked this start a lot.....big fan of your RB's....while Robinson is a guy I find myself constantly passing on I like the Jones/Jeudy/Williams picks at WR and Waller should be solid

that QB trio should keep you in the upper mix each week ham n egg style.....solid RB's....really like the Woods/Samuel picks and some overreaction to Lamb could end up making Gallup a steal as he continues to plummet down draft boards....

can someone please tell me why Cordarelle freakin Patterson keeps showing up towards the top of the lists in these things.......he is always up there on the Fantasy Sharks cheatsheets too.....do his parents do hundreds of mock draft every day or do they own fantasy sharks or something.....

One number that caught my attention when I was thinking of taking Gallup is 83... that's the number of targets that Randall Cobb had last year. In other words, Gallup put up those big numbers last year in an offense that made heavy use of all 3 of its starting WRs. 83 is actually more than the # of targets for the average 1st round wide receiver. If Lamb comes in and has a rookie year like Beckham that would definitely eat into Gallup's targets, but if he just has an ordinary pretty good rookie season for a 1st round WR then the target distribution could wind up looking pretty similar to last year.

can someone please tell me why Cordarelle freakin Patterson keeps showing up towards the top of the lists in these things.......he is always up there on the Fantasy Sharks cheatsheets too.....do his parents do hundreds of mock draft every day or do they own fantasy sharks or something.....
  noticed that too.

Up until these drafts kicked off, if you had put a gun to my head I legit couldn't even have told you whether Cordarrelle Patterson was still in the NFL ... and if you wanted to know what team he was on your next call would be to the coroner.

I thought he was a placeholder for Percy Harvin.

isn't it poor form to discuss players not yet drafted. I am sure that he is very near the top of several owner's lists and now they will have to take him with their next pick to be assured that they get him.

I'm pretty stoked to see how these leagues with a higher number of starters (3 flex) shakes out.....it's kind of something I personally would like to see incorporated in more leagues across the board.....making more draft picks actually count each week.....think it makes it more of a challenge and makes the rounds after 7 a little more important....I realize it brings into play some really late dart throws that may have a big week and only score for you once or something.....but having more "starters" each week doesn't really seem like a bad thing....

Going to play devil's advocate here.  If it wasn't draft and go, I would agree with you.  Injuries will cripple some teams with this many starters.  By the end of the year in the survivor leagues, many teams are taking weekly donuts with just 9 or 10 starters.  Last year I was down to 2 or 7 WRs in one league.  I think these new leagues are going to turn in an Anarchy league where health is more important than good drafting.  Also while Ryan Neil may turn out to be the SOD relative to Jordan Scarlett, there's not much skill in Chicago having 2 two RB injuries versus Carolina having none.

Regardless, it will be fun and thanks for setting these up.

I kept a file open and jotted down a few brief notes after making each pick, because I figured we'd be at this for 2 weeks and I honestly wouldn't remember my rationale for my early picks otherwise. Pro tip: don't do this when you're on a videoconference with three senior executives and there's a possibility they'll spring questions on you.  :oldunsure:

1.07    Davante Adams GBP WR2
HOF talent, HOF QB, and a target monster on what should still be a pretty good offense. As I said I don't love the 7-hole this year - several good options there and things thin out pretty quickly on the way back. Also considered: none.

2.06    Kenyan Drake ARI RB10
Considering Drake's history as a bellcow RB spans a grand total of 8 games, Kingsbury declining to supplement the position in either FA or the draft is pretty meaningful. The newly Nuk-lear-powered Cards :hophead:  should have a high-octane offense in 2020 with Drake being a key part of it. Also considered: Jacobs, Godwin.

3.07    Clyde Edwards-Helaire KCC RB15
I thought RB15 might have been a reach for a raw rookie widely seen as the 3rd or 4th-best RB in his own draft class ... but 2 weeks later the expert consensus has him even higher because Chiefs, so what do I know? Probably less in this case than Andy Reid, or at least I hope. RB in particular in the fantasy realm has always been just as much about opportunity as talent. Also considered: Gurley, Smith-Schuster.

4.06    Le'Veon Bell NYJ RB19
Unlike my first two RB picks this one isn't about ceiling but floor. I don't see many scenarios where a healthy Bell doesn't get 250 touches and turn them into 1,200-1,400 yards. Should spend 10+ weeks in my starting lineup. Also considered: none.

5.07    Tyler Higbee LAR TE7
With 12 teams and only a marginal PPR boost I came real close to punting the position entirely. But I already had that strategy at QB aaaaaand I could just see myself trying to somehow squeeze eight QB/TE/DST picks into six rounds later on. Higbee vs. Engram was a coin flip but the vacated targets from Cooks tipped the scales. Also considered: Engram, Metcalf, Sutton.

6.06    Terry McLaurin WAS WR27
I was irritated but not surprised that DK, Sutton and Hilton were all snapped up in between my picks as I saw a tier break at WR after them. Ingram was someone I stared at for a while here, but ultimately decided against tying up yet another flex spot this early. Scary Terry has already shown his ability to work as the #1 and has the potential for a true breakout season if Haskins can pull himself up to even an average QB.

7.07    Noah Fant DEN TE12
Nothing at all I really liked on the board at this pick - the WRs all looked interchangeable and I was pretty sure one of my 4 remaining QB1's would make it back, so I settled on beefing up my TE depth with one of the few remaining names with every-week flex upside. I don't want to say this was a wasted pick, but in IBL I'd have swapped this and my 10th for two 8th-rounders here in two seconds. Also considered: Hunt, Landry.

8.06    Carson Wentz PHI QB13
I had every intention of punting QB until later but, with QBs going a little quicker than I expected in a 1-QB format, I figured I wouldn't get another shot to land a good bet for a top-10 season. My incoming plan was to draft three late names anyway, so this should let me wait a few rounds on the other two. Also considered: Stafford, Landry.

9.07    Marquise Brown BAL WR37
10.06    John Brown BUF WR43

At this point I'm pretty well set everywhere but WR (and DST, but even with the boost in scoring there's no need to panic first). With best-ball scoring and deep rosters these are my favorite type of WR to stockpile - high-variance speedsters who might disappear entirely one week and put up 25 points the next. Also considered: Slayton, Sanders, Diontae Johnson.

11.07    Ravens BAL Def2
As with Ref's superflex league, I think the higher scoring and positional variance warrants both rostering 4 DSTs and paying up for at least one. I took the 49ers last go-around so viva la difference, this time the Ravens it is. Also considered: 49ers DST.

12.06    Ryan Tannehill TEN QB19
For waiting until the halfway point of the draft for my QB2, I didn't expect be able to get the guy who finished QB4 on a PPG basis as a starter last year. Also considered: none.

13.07    Justin Jefferson MIN WR56
My second draft pick who's fresh off a 2019 national championship so, ummm, Geaux Tigers! Cousins has always relied on slot WRs as a security blanket and the Vikings spending first-round capital on Jefferson despite the embarrassment of WR riches in the draft gives me no reason to expect that will change. Also considered: Miller, Fitzgerald.

14.06    Buccaneers TBB Def13
15.07    Jets NYJ Def20

The former, a thoroughly mediocre defense paired with an outstanding offense and coaching staff. The latter, an outstanding defense paired with a thoroughly mediocre offense and coaching staff. Pick your poison!

16.06    Eric Ebron PIT TE24
The 2019 Steelers had a team QB rating of 76. I feel like this is a rare case of statistics actually underrating the awfulness; 76 was the league average QB rating in 1989, and there's no way the 1989 NFL as a whole was as bad throwing the ball as Mason Rudolph and Duck Hodges are, or we'd all have gouged our eyes out decades ago. Anyway! The air game should be back to near-normal in the 'Burgh, and Ebron should be one of several beneficiaries.

17.07    Falcons ATL Def25
Not a real appetizing group of defenses left on the table, so close my eyes and take a blind stab. Also considered: Cards DST.

18.06    Jarrett Stidham NEP QB28
A Wentz / Tannehill duo far exceeded my ingoing expectations for the wait-on-QB strategy, so I wasn't necessarily desperate for a QB3. But with <$1m in cap space, Cam / Jameis / Dalton were never serious options for NE - so Belichick forgoing a QB in the draft should give Stidham's stock a major boost. At #210, why not? Also considered: Tyrod Taylor, Duke Johnson, Boston Scott.

19.07     Darrynton Evans TEN RB56
Mike Vrabel handed the ball off to Derrick Henry 303 times last year. Yes, Henry is the approximate size of an Abrams tank, but still, that's a heavy workload. As an ankle-breaking burner, Evans shouldn't just be a Dion Lewis fill-in but a real thunder-and-lightning complement in this run-heavy offense. 100 touches as a rookie wouldn't surprise me. Also considered: Jaylen Samuels, Rashaad Penny.

20.06     Brandon Aiyuk SFO WR75
I have no idea how this team came 7 minutes away from a Lombardi when their skill-position personnel philosophy exactly mirrors the Russians' at Stalingrad: Just throw more bodies at it! I guess at least this means the first-round rookie has plenty of opportunity there for the taking. Also considered: Tee Higgins.

21.07     Mason Crosby GBP PK17
22.06     Chris Boswell PIT PK18

With multiple guys at the front of the draft still needing multiple kickers, I figured this was my last best chance to lock down two guaranteed point producers. Also considered: none.

23.07     Danny Amendola DET WR88
Finished WR48 last year despite playing half the season with something named a (checks notes) David Blough at QB. He'll probably finish right around WR48 again this season, 'cause that's what he does. Given that we have to start half of these rosters every week, I'll take that.

24.06     Joshua Kelley LAC RB68
With Gordon's 205 touches out the door, discussions about Ekeler vs. Justin Jackson miss the point that they're very similar guys. Kelley's more of a straight-ahead, move-the-pile RB, but with enough added speed and athleticism that he very well could play the Melly role in that offense. Also considered: Brian Hill, Anthony McFarland.

25.07     Miles Boykin BAL WR96
I'll play the "reversion to the mean" game and assume that the Ravens won't be 32nd in pass attempts again, which should lift all boats, at least slightly. Also considered: any of about 10 remaining 2018-2020 WR draftees.

*************

A surprisingly high percentage of the time, when I go into drafts with a specific strategy and stick to my process, the end result winds up not really appealing to me on first glance. I gotta say this is one of those times. TE is potentially underwhelming for the amount of draft capital I spent. Lack of depth seems like it could be a problem, with mid-round rookies at RB4/5 and a QB3 with 4 career pass attempts - although OTOH, with this scoring system I'll only really need to find 2 skill-position scores each week as I'll very often be flexing a DST2. On the other other hand ... perhaps 2020 with its upending of spring activities and TC isn't the best time to be leaning on a bunch of rooks.

Thanks again to Ref for putting something new out there. Looking forward to seeing how it all shakes out. Best of luck to all.

STINKIN REF:

Zero game plan heading in. And it showed.

2.05    Patrick Mahomes KCC QB2
16.05    Derek Carr LVR QB26
23.08    Tyrod Taylor LAC QB32

Got my boy early.  Should have an advantage on the field here when the dust clears.  Carr has weapons and should hold off Mariota.  Taylor will start for a while and also has good weapons. Considered going solo here for a time, but added some bodies late at minimal investment in case Mahomes misses any time or sits out last week.

3.08    Raheem Mostert SFO RB16
7.08    Kareem Hunt CLE RB30
9.08    Ronald Jones TBB RB36
13.08    Ryquell Armstead JAC RB42
15.08    Tevin Coleman SFO RB44
20.05    Devonta Freeman FA RB60

Guess I’ll be that guy in most leagues taking Mostert.  Going back to back TE in 5-6 kinda sealed my fate here at RB so honestly I kind of punted the position.  I don’t expect to get any flex here at all, but should get two decent scores that are needed.  An “IF” theme turns this weakness into a solid if some things happen: if Chubb gets hurt, if Fournette gets traded, if Freeman finds a nice spot. I think Fournette will be dealt even though recent reports said otherwise, they will dump him and I have a feeling he starts crying soon if he doesn’t get dealt. I should have SF run game on lock down and could be weeks where they both score for me. Need to thank you guys for letting me get Coleman that cheap as I felt I kept pushing my luck a little. I wanted Murray instead, but felt the prudent play was to take the handcuff.

1.08    DeAndre Hopkins ARI WR3
4.05    A.J. Brown TEN WR17
10.05    Emmanuel Sanders NOS WR42
12.05    Mike Williams LAC WR51
14.05    Curtis Samuel CAR WR60
17.08    Josh Reynolds LAR WR66
19.08    DeSean Jackson PHI WR72
21.08    Demarcus Robinson KCC WR80

Had really planned on going more than 8 deep, but felt ok here. Hoping Jackson bounces back.  Robinson will score a few times and makes a double up with Mahomes when he does, and if a KC WR gets dinged, I get some love.  Cooks departure means more PT for Reynolds in an offense that chucks it. I think Sanders is really being underrated right now. Living in Bronco land I have watched him a ton and dude is pretty damn good still.  I think he is going to eat.  He should pee all over WR42.

5.08    Evan Engram NYG TE8
6.05    Rob Gronkowski TBB TE9
8.05    Mike Gesicki MIA TE14

Heavy investment here, need some solid ROI.  TE get .50 more per reception than RB, by the time I made the Gronk pick 25 RB’s were gone and I didn’t love any of the ones still on the board, same thing with Gesicki in the 8th. So I thought I would put a little dent in the TE position and hope to gain a little advantage here somehow and make up for some RB points.  We will see if it works, but expect some flex here throughout the year.

18.05    Zane Gonzalez ARI PK8
24.05    Joey Slye CAR PK24
25.08    Jason Sanders MIA PK25

Continuing to be in scramble mode, I decided to take 3 here as we can start 2 if needed. Real good chance that a 3-4 FG day and a couple extra points can score and count for you as a flex some weeks.  Almost a guaranteed floor of 10 points maybe for one of the flex spots. Pretty sad realizing I just typed that.

11.08    San Francisco 49ers Def3
22.05    Cincinnati Bengals Def31

Happy to get what should be the top DST in the 11th.  Took some heat off chasing the position. SF averaged 17 points a week last year, so they should fill the one required slot most weeks and made backing the spot up seem kind of pointless.

Overall: crazy draft for some reason, just never felt good at any pick like it was an easy one and something fell to me….was a struggle each time….gonna need some serious #### to go my way to have any chance to contend.  Good luck guys….hope these gave you something to kill some time and think about during this madness….know looking forward to being OTC is always fun….schedule comes out in about 3.5 hours so time to start :banned: ….and see who my Chiefs spank when…..heard CAR is the first victim.
