so did the Cowboys players quit after Dak went down? i love watching them unintentionally tank, but this looks like a failure from organization top

When dak got hurt there was all this talk about how he was a bellow average QB and not worth the money.

Cowboys putting that idea to bed pretty quick.

They can't play defense and they can't block anyone. Dak solved the latter with his scrambling and playmaking abilities. Dalton can't do that. And teams that can't play defense and can't block anyone tend to lose a lot.

That was sad.

ehh not trolling, was a serious question. i'm watching red zone, but seeing Dallas clips team just seems like a team that has the look that they quit

but do you guys think they quit already? i know the rumors from unnaned sources this week, but are they giving like 40% for the rest of the year? if so, Jer is going to have to give it all to Dak
Not watching that garbage, watching RZ

Supposedly the “unnamed player” from what I’ve read was Carr, who got cut

Well, seems maybe the lad was right.

25 years of mediocrity or worse.  I'd like to say that maybe this will encourage Jerry to hire a real, qualified GM, but...I know better.  Didn't do it after 5 years with no success, 10 years, 15 years, or even 20.  No reason to think that now.  And that's just sad.

It was a late slide.  They honestly need to just get rid of the QB slide altogether.  It came around back when QBs didn't want to run and they'd be in the middle of the field and see a guy 15 yards away coming at them and just drop down.  Now QBs abuse it and just use it as a last last last second bailout and drop right at a defender's feet and all it does is put them at greater risk then if they just got tackled normally.

It results in WAY more injuries than just getting tackled does, especially head injuries, since when they side late like that it puts their head right into a position to be hit by a guy who is committed to make what would have been a waist high tackle.

Looks like it.

Yep he's gone.

Deservedly
Thanks

Seriously man?

By the time it was clear Dalton was sliding Bostic was already basically off the ground.  He was tackling low with his shoulder, his helmet was well out of the way.  When he saw Dalton sliding even though he was already fully committed he even rotated his body away from him and almost hit Dalton with his back.

When you slide late like that you are essentially throwing your head into the shoulder of a guy who is already committing to a tackle.  These QBs are 200+lbs nowadays; and they are running for a first down that the defender has to position himself to make a real tackle, and when you bail into a slide at the last second into a guy making a real tackle you put your head right into them.  It happens like 5 times every year and people still act surprised by it.  You think these defenders want to get ejected from games and get 15 yard penalties?  The slide should be illegal QBs don't use it right anymore.  He's not trying to hit Dalton in the head he's trying to hit a 220lb guy running at full speed at him trying to get a 1st down in the waist and drive him backwards, then in a split instant his head is suddenly what is at waist level.

I think Washington could be the best team in the division. Eagles make too many dumb mistakes and disappear for an entire game. Washington's defense is relentless.

Wow.  Ok then.

This is a Stephen A. Smith-level bad take.

Zeke fans cannot be happy with the turn of events on this offense. Dalton will be out for a while, the Cowboys really have nothing left to offer to utilize all these weapons now.

Serious question.  When a QB is sprinting full speed at a 1st down marker and a defender is sprinting at them to try and stop them, and the QB decides to slide on the play, what percentage of the time do they end up getting hit in the head?  80%?  90%?  It happens virtually every time on those bang/bang plays at the sticks.  Maybe every defender in the league just wants hit guys in the head and give up a 1st down and get ejected from the game and fined by the league, or maybe sliding in that scenario naturally creates major contact to the head area.

The slide was never intended for those kind of bang/bang situations.  Obviously continued coaching of the defenders helps, but QBs need to be coached to either slide in the open or commit to being a runner when they are sprinting full speed into an oncoming collision at the sticks/goaline.  When they change their mind last minute like that they ALWAYS get hurt.
