  2. Week 3 of marathon training complete. Monday - OFF Tuesday - 8/4 7:40 pace (172bpm). I talked about this run Tuesday. Suck index off the charts and I tried to hold current HM pace for 4 miles. 6:48(181), 6:55(186), 6:47(190) & 6:48(192) Wednesday - 12.52 miles 9:08 pace (152bpm) Suck index still sucked. Thursday - 5 mile recovery 9:51 (138bpm) Still hot. Friday - 10.21 miles 9:12 pace (150bpm) Still sucky. Saturday - 5 mile recovery 9:46 pace (138bpm) Finally a break in the heat but I still felt tired. Sunday - 15.3 miles 8:36 pace (151bpm) Really nice morning for running and I was glad th

  3. Time for the weekly report: Mon: 10.04/7:57/128 Tues: 10.08/7:03/145 Since I bailed on a long run with marathon pace miles the Saturday before, I felt a need to get in some miles at that pace. The 8 MP miles: 6:48/146, 6:48/150, 6:47/152, 6:49/154, 6:49/155, 6:46/156, 6:46/156, 6:46/156. Marathon pace is supposed to be 6:52 so I ran these too fast again but much closer this time. My pace yo-yo-ed more than one might think looking at the splits. I'm still having trouble locking into that pace. I felt OK throughout although it's certainly no easy effort. Heart rate was OK, I guess. Wed: 7

  5. Well, I feel like a total loser posting my weekly results with juxt, pbm, hang10, and fubar kicking ###, but here goes: Week 7 in the books. Monday: Rest Tuesday: 4.11 mile run. 10:02 pace. 150HR. Wednesday: 7.31 mile run. 9:18 pace. 165HR. Sort of a combo pace run. Was going to be a tempo run, but felt good and just ran. Thursday: 5.01 mile run. 10:33 pace. 152HR Friday: Rest Saturday: 7 mile pace run. 9:11 pace. 169HR. Sunday: 14.03 mile run. 11:19 pace. 152HR. Suck index was 151 at 6AM, and it rained the moment I walked out the door until about the 8 mile mark. Tough run. But made it throu

  6. Strava might be the devil. Felt pretty good about this morning's ride, then saw I got 2nd place (out of 63) all-time on a 9.1 mile segment, by 3 #######' seconds. Same speed - 21.8mph, but the other guy went 25:04, I went 25:07. HR was 147 for that portion and the SI was ~150, so there's that. Also, that guy has over 6,000 miles this year riding but apparently doesn't run. For the week: M: 10 minutes rower, 45 minutes weight training T: 1 hour swim W: Rest day for the Army's required health assessment (good news, the nurse said I'm "relatively healthy") T: 1 hour ride, 3 minute intervals

  7. Week #1 of Pfitz 18/85 Mon: 5.1/8:36/130 Tues: 9.12/7:39/152 This was a 4 mile tempo run and it went well considering the suck index was in the 150s. The tempo miles: 6:25/162, 6:25/170, 6:26/173, and 6:21/175. I was uncomfortable but wasn't killing myself. Wed: 12.08/8:00/141 Thurs: 6.15/8:21/137 I really had to hold back on this run, the legs wanted to go, but I wanted to treat this as a recovery per the plan. I expected to be tired based on the previous two days, but I was ready to run. Fri: 10.67/7:51/141 Favorite run of the week as the conditions were perfect. For the first ti

  13. I saw Rakim perform at a small bar last night in Denver (max capacity 500). It was amazing to see the godfather of modern rap in such an intimate setting. He put on a great show. Here is a picture I took from my spot in the front row. I'm 32 years old now, and I started listening to rap in 1994 back when I was in sixth grade. It was the golden age of rap with 2Pac, Biggie, Outkast, Nas, and Wu Tang being some of my early favorite rappers. Eric B & Rakim mostly preceded my time, and I never owned any of their albums growing up. It wasn't until my freshman year of college when Napste

I'm really excited to come by your booth. If you are getting in early enough on Wednesday and don't have any plans/obligations, you should get a ticket to go to the What the Funk festival on Wednesday night. It is an awesome festival hosted by Crooked Stave with an elite selection of rare sour and barrel-aged beers. I already got a VIP ticket. 16. Quattro has slowly been shedding warring members for some time now. However, it has gotten to the point where 10-15 are warring. I am encouraging those in quattro who are looking for serious wars to go over to fbgs or Honda after the current war is over. Quattro will convert over to a farming clan. Any wars we do take part in will not be serious. This may change as the clan evolves and nothing is set in stone (farming wars?). If the other clans can start trimming their non-warring / farming / junk account wood to begin making room for quattro refugees, that would be great. Anyone in the othe

  25. Agree with everything in your post (and most of the bolded bits in the JK evaluation you posted yesterday), except this. I think Fab's in that class -- one of the best players we've ever had. Also, would most people put Eddie Pope on that list? I loved the guy and saw him week in and week out for DC, but I'm not sure his name would have come up for me. Nice surprise if he's that highly considered! I wanted to include both offensive and defensive players. I think Pope is the best defender the US has developed.

  30. I know we've talked about this fifty times, but things are different now in that one of the three war clans has more or less eroded down into nothing. If there's a number of non-war guys in Honda, seems like it would be less complicated now to swap some guys on. Quattro could be the non-serious/both heroes down*/randomly opted out clan. * - not in the sense that people should be required to not war if their heroes are down, but it seems like many prefer not to anyway.

  35. 7 mile pace run this morning. Started at 5:45, and it was weird. 80 degrees but dew point only 40. So a very manageable 120SI. Mile 1: 9:33 pace. 153HR. Mile 2: 9:09 pace. 165HR Mile 3: 9:09 pace. 170HR Mile 4: 9:10 pace. 170HR Mile 5: 9:05 pace. 174HR Mile 6: 9:30 pace. 177HR. Almost all uphill here. Mile 7: 8:39 pace: 179HR. All in all, a pretty good run. Ran a little hot at the end, but wanted to push it a bit when I was a little tired. Actually felt I had about 3 more miles in me at these paces, so overall pretty pleased. A little slower overall from where I thought I was, but not complain
