  2. I live in Michigan and I believe the biggest reason Bernie won here was his performance in the Flint debate. Specifically, he crushed Hillary on NAFTA and people here hate NAFTA with a passion. That and a high turnout were the biggest reasons he overcame a 20 point deficit in the polls. I think Bernie needs to kick Hillary's ### in the debate this week to have a chance. He is the most resilient politician I have ever seen and he can never be counted out. It's crunch time now. He needs a "NAFTA moment" in this debate. Bernie has already done the impossible a thousand times over.

  4. The truth is both party establishmets need a house cleaning, it is going to happen soon whether they like it or not. At least Bernie ran so they democrats have a legit person who cares about the people in need. The people who actually care about other people and understand what a true leader should be vote Bernie. He is trying to fill a void left by corroupt politics. All the canidates on both sides want to be president for themselves and ego. Bernie wants to be president to help change because people are being wronged and wants to fight for middle class. He knows without a healthy middle

  5. Urkops Monument Avenue 10K The past two weeks haven't been great for me. I feel like maybe I peaked physically and mentally around the time of my half marathon 3 weeks ago. I've been dealing with a lingering back issue and quite honestly, just lacking of motivation for whatever reason. My back started to feel better and better as the past week went on but out of nowhere it made an appearance for my shake out run yesterday. I just felt awful. My back hurt and my heart rate was way too high. It was pretty much the opposite of how you want a shake out to go. The race is Richmond, VA wh

  8. Wow, you guys are blazin'. Nice times @pbm107 @FUBAR @tri-man 47 @Juxtatarot and great race reports as well. I can only dream of that kind of speed. I finished my midnight 50 mile race this weekend, which was essentially my goal. I'll try to post a race report tonight or tomorrow.

  9. Juxt's bad races are still better than my okay races. 1:31:37, pretty much exactly what I expected. Got chicked. But averaged under 7 which was the goal. Report tomorrow. ETA: just looked at my previous PR, turns out I beat it by 20 seconds according to my watch. Official time 1:31:33 Next fall I break 90. Eta2: 4th place

  10. Chi-Town 10K Race Report Weird conditions for an April race, as Juxt noted. This was a tune-up for Boston and my first 10K for a very long time, so it was hard to gauge how it would go. Like Juxt, I discarded any preconceptions once we got to the lakefront and saw the iced-over trails. Morning routines were all fine. I wasn't thrilled with the cold, but that part seemed manageable. Lakefront traffic was heavy, so we cut away from the lake and parked in the neighborhoods about a mile from the start. We tried to jog over, but the footing was treacherous. Before the race, I met and cha

  11. Chi-town Half Marathon race report Well, this one was pretty awful. I woke up feeling pretty good. Although the forecast called for unseasonable cold (upper 20s) I thought I had a good chance to reach my goals. Those goals were to 1) eek out a small PR over the 1:22:37 half I set last fall, and 2) give me some confidence for the May 1 Broad St. 10 Miler in Philly. I wasn't sure what to wear so I wore a layer of normal running stuff under a layer of typical winter running garb. I would make up my mind when we got there if I wanted to check the winter stuff. 13. Dammit! We had this thread successfully blocked. There was going to be no further discussion of Bernie until the election is over. Someone better call Sidney and tell him his plan failed. He can yell at the IT guys again. First the server and now this. Best laid plans but something always goes wrong...

  19. Here is a question. So what if they keep repeating?? Isn't there some sort of guideline where players are suspended X amount of time based on which occurrence it is?? So um, ya know, just stick to that. If people repeat and get suspended more, so be it. This willy nilly suspension time frame and decision time frame looks much worse for the league. Why make yourself look stupid when the players themselves are the ones who would look stupid if you just follow your own rules. If you reinstate Gordon right now and he gets popped again and suspended for another year or two year

  27. If he gets the popular vote over Hillary, I don't think that happens. As I have said in the Hillary thread, I don't believe that is right. If more people vote for Bernie than Hillary in the primaries, then he should get the nomination - otherwise the Democratic Party is not really democratic.

  30. 2016 Rock the Parkway Race Report Woke up this morning to 34 degrees and no wind, which for me is the optimal temperature for running. Had my usual breakfast of a piece of toast with peanut butter and half a banana. Took a real nice dump, and minutes before I left, had a feeble attempt at a second one. Left the house on time, but not sure how my stomach really felt. As I'm driving to the race at 6:30, the only cars on the highway are people like me - driving to a race on a cold spring morning. You can always tell that runners are in those cars as we jockey for position on the highway

  32. Guus confirmed the yellow card was the main factor. "We had had some half-chances which we were not sharp enough to materialise. We went 1-0 down with some sloppy defensive work and on top of that he had a yellow card, and I didn't want to take the risk of him getting a second yellow. That was the main reason to make the substitution." -Guus Hiddink; source: Chelsea FC

  33. You can contact her again, but for gods sake don't let it be a 'I had a great time and want to see you again' note. Maybe be she mentioned she knew a lot about fashion. A text of 'headed into Manhattan for some shopping later, any suggestions on where to start?' can get conversation started. And so on. Basically keep the conversation going from that night, don't send a plea for her to contact you again

  42. This is why I don't think I can vote for her. If Bernie some how passes her on popular vote and/or delegates but loses the nomination because of the super delegates. Thanks for voting everyone, but we don't like who you picked so we made your vote not count, but please vote for our party in November so we can continue to ignore what the majority of what our people want. I think I would rather vote Republican and let us hit rock bottom so something has to change or just not vote this year.

  43. :picksupmic: The NFL increased revenue 16% in the 2014 season (when Gordon played just 5 games), compared to the 2013 season when he had his monster year. Although revenue figures aren't available yet, revenue in 2015 (when Gordon didn't play, AT ALL) are expected to increase again. The NFL doesn't need Gordon (or any 1 player) to keep raking in the money. :micdrop:

  44. Oh, tommy. How can you post this as a Hillary defender and not see the obvious responses?

  45. Ok. I'll bite. What is in it for the NFL to reinstate Josh Gordon? How about money. The NFL loves offense. It also loves it when a team sells out all it's home games and rating are up DO you know what feels tickets and drives ratings? Offense. That's why the NFL loves offense. Josh Gordon is instant offense. He's a record setting WR that can turn a game on its head. He is a player that gets home stadiums excited. Keeps them electric. He has the ability to make the Browns relevant again. Teams that aren't relevant don't make the NFL as much money as teams that are. Josh Gordon = Money. The NFL
