  1. I don't think he's a hypocrite; I just think he's wrong. What we saw on the stage wasn't sexual exploitation. Rather, it was two mega stars in the entertainment industry performing the way they have always performed on the biggest of stages. If he was offended, he probably should have 1) Researched the performers prior to the game and 2) Turned off the TV. On point 2, for those offended, why not just turn the show off? I don't understand that - nobody held guns to the heads of people to watch that show. Free will does indeed exist. There are plenty of things that offend me. Gues

  2. Dig? You don't need to dig for dirt on Trump. You just need to sit there and wait for the dirt to jump into your lap. The problem is - it doesn't matter.

  5. Thanks for posting this, I did not realize all this had been going on. At the risk of contradicting myself further up about how do you screw up an app rollout, it occurs to me after reading this that maybe this is an instance of 'blame the technology'. This actually sounds rather more complicated than what was implemented in 2016 (and I take it before). I see at least 5 (?) new processes listed here? And this is for people who have probably been engaging in a tried and true reporting process that's been around I guess 100 years? And involving probably older folks who volunteer for this stuff?

  15. Dude, Biden's numbers are down because as people have been telling you, he's a terrible candidate and the Democratic Party has lurched leftward. There's no doubt.

What we need to do now is show everybody that we're handling this thing in a fair and efficient manner." "I know -- let's cherry-pick some precincts, release numbers for those at the end of the day, and then gradually dump the rest during the State of the Union!" "Genius!"

  19. Bernie team has released new internal numbers. They say these are the results with 60% of precincts reporting: FIRST ROUND Sanders 29.08% Buttigieg 21.63% Warren 19.51% Klobuchar 12.27% Biden 12.04% AFTER REALIGNMENT Sanders 29.4% Buttigieg 24.87% Warren 20.65% Biden 12.92% Klobuchar 11.18% The numbers they released did not include State Delegate Equivalents, which traditionally determine the winner. These are just vote counts.

  22. Bernie seems to hold the momentum at the moment. As I understand it, the Iowa Caucus has been somewhat predictive of democratic success, moreso than say the Republican. Now I don't know where casuals are with voting or this process, and it wouldn't be the first time people too in the weeds read too much into what this could portend. The conspiracy, I don't know to be frank, I don't understand how a mid tier candidate like Buttigeg is able to get a major poll squashed over a question which should have fallen in the margin of error. Now, this may also be conspiracy, but it is from a NY Times

  23. So insidious, this thing. Lost my Mary to it years ago. While i of course mourn and regret her death, it was watching her destruction by cancer that still makes such a horrible ache 20 years on.. Was such a small thing, a tightness noticed in a workout. She was a nurse, got on top of it quickly, took the most radical treatments. Boom - gone. Good couple years between, we got engaged (biiig step for bachelor me). Boo - back - nine spots on her rib cage. We talked, cried, talked, screamed, talked. Mary wanted her unlucky life - molested, runaway, teen sex worker, drug addict, this afflicti

  25. My inconsistent views or actions are colorful idiosyncrasies, they are me embracing paradox, keeping an open mind, and of course acknowledging subtle, nearly imperceptible differences not apparent to lesser intellects. Your inconsistent views or behaviors are dangerous hypocrisies indicative of a depraved mind and heart.

  26. Iowa, messy though their caucus system can be is a wonderful reminder, as we kick off the campaign season, that America is not homogeneous. Different regions, different people have ways of doing things. It is not all the same nor does it need to be. Those who cannot embrace Iowa for itself and acknowledge that it has a place, even as it differs, will miss lessons valuable in other states as well. The calls for homogeneity of electoral process are a declaration of disrespect.

Weigh-in this morning showed a three-pound gain for my two-week bender, putting me right at my initial goal weight. Also, I’m currently at a bar. It’s OK!!!!

  35. Everybody assumed this would come down to Biden vs. either Sanders or Warren. I really don't know who is the centrist candidate that gets the bump if Biden falls backs even more - I'd support Amy, Bloomberg or obviously Pete. For those who are hoping to not have an old white guy, Biden having a bad night is a good thing.

  36. First of all, we don’t know that he got it from anything related to smoking. Let’s wait until we have actual facts before drawing conclusions. Second, if you express sympathy for him and then use his diagnosis to make a political point, you’re not really expressing sympathy. Which is fine. Just say you think his actions make him such a horrible human being that you can’t muster the appropriate level of sympathy. All of us have some kind of line where a person is so awful he doesn’t deserve sympathy. If, say, Bashar al-Assad were diagnosed with lung cancer tomorrow, I’d say I’m glad he’s

  38. I can do things and make decisions without the words/dialogue. Say I am picking out a movie on Netflix. I can use the remote, scroll around, etc. without "verbalizing" anything in my head. However, I might see a movie and think in words "Oh is that the movie my dad was talking about?" or maybe I just realize it without the words. It depends. I can chop food without thinking, "I need to cut up onions right now" but I might narrate in my head parts of a recipe so I remember what I need to do or verbalize a conversation in my head about whether to make dessert or not. Not sure if that makes sense

  40. We already have social democracy, it just favors corporations, it never stops amazing me how many people are blind to this. I would rather bail out poor people than banks but somehow subsidizing banks and corporations not socialist but providing for citizens socialist. Really insane.
