  3. Along these lines, I thought this was a great tweet thread by Erick Erickson (Trump voter and abashed conservative): Link According to the Trump World narrative, The President was failed by multiple chiefs of staff, his first attorney general, and now his second. The Durham investigation that would expose everything is exposing nothing, not even itself. But just you wait and see! The Trump controlled Department of Justice and Trump controlled FBI are in on stealing the election from their boss along with possibly the CIA and now Fox News whose accurate call of Arizona w

  4. Do you remember 2000? It was decided by a few hundred votes in one state, where the Governor was the brother of the GOP candidate and the Secretary of State was a raging partisan ideologue. Despite the historically close margin and numerous highly questionable circumstances (10's of thousands of voters being de-registered shortly before the election), the state was able to avoid even doing one single re-count due to an injunction issued by the US Supreme Court along party lines. Al Gore graciously conceded the next day. "I say to President-elect Bush that what remains of partisan ranco

Me: "Well, that's my way of letting you know that I heard what you said." Daughter: "You could say something else every once in a while." Me: "You're right. I definitely could say something else sometimes. Sorry, it's a bad habit." Daughter: "Dad, you don't need to apologize. I'm not angry with you. I just think that you could say something else. Rewatched Citizen Kane recently to prep for the release of Mank and this all reminded me of the scene where Kane is running for Governor of NY and the eve of the election he has the mock-ups of the 2 possible headlines for his newspaper to run the next day. They read something like: “Charles Kane elected Governor” and “Massive Election Fraud in New York” The Trump team went into this thing with that mindset. Make the claims first, find the evidence later. There is no evidence and we can be both happy about our Democratic institutions and deeply embarrassed for the lame du

  14. Powell put together multiple lawsuits in under two weeks of this kind of magnitude. Ask the lefty lawyers, no shortage of them on FBG, on how hard that is to pull off in this time crunch. Also what you suggest is not practical nor logical legal strategy. If the situation was reversed, the DNC would make Georgia the field of battle as well. Flipping Georgia would open up the pathway to contesting the other states legally and in the court of public opinion. You want to punish Powell for ignoring a strategy that NO ONE LEGALLY COMPETENT WOULD ACTUALLY USE? Well, maybe you would. So the

  19. More to the point, when do we use Occam's Razor here? I mean, either: A) Sidney Powell has somehow managed to sniff out a vast conspiracy involving thousands of people, across both political parties. For some reason known only to her, she is making wild accusations in the media, yet has refused to provide the proof of this conspiracy either to the media or in court. In some cases, the claims she has made are mutually contradictory ("Dominion cheated us" and "Trump votes were so overwhelming, it broke Dominion's cheating algorithm, so they hand-processed tens of thousands of ballots as

  20. It has nothing to do with Dominion. Nothing at all. If it did and they truly believed there was fraud there (which they already admitted in court that there was no fraud) they would be asking that each and every state that utilized the Dominion system be verified and reviewed (including states they won). They aren’t doing that. They are only focusing on the states where the vote differential was close and this is being used as a ‘reason’ they didn’t win (among other nonsensical reasons as well).

  21. There are certain subjects I've decided not to be nice about anymore. I had forgotten what event influenced my decision making when it came to health and @Jackstraw unintentionally reminded me. Michelle Obama being taken to the cleaners for making healthy lunches a priority was the straw that broke the camel's back. I don't care that my directness about this subject will rub some the wrong way. I actually think it's a feature; not a bug. From my perspective resistance and misinterpretation of the message whether overtly or accidentally is a cost of doing business. It is an engagement opp

For what it's worth, these student loan forgiveness conversations always come down to different visions of "fairness" and so far I think only one side of the coin has been presented so I guess I'll try to write a few words about my vision of fairness. I think any system is unfair that says to a kid at 17 or 18 that he should make this enormous decision with the potential to cripple his entire economic future. This isn't like a situation where a teenage kid murders a homeless man and has to live with those consequen

  23. Forgiving medical debts (which would have to be done through a different type of approach than student loans) would probably be at least as good if not better for the economy, and it would benefit people that incurred debt through no fault of their own. IIRC medical debts are the number one factor in personal bankruptcy. I’d be much more in favor of this than forgiving student loans of people that made a conscious choice to incur voluntary debt.

It's for a few different reasons: - During the movie draft, I was working from home. - After this draft started, I had to go back into work during this whole period. I do not go to FBG from my work computer and I didn't want to monitor a whole draft from my phone. - Lastly the whole months' long process of the movie draft left me in "draft exhaustion". The last thing I wanted to do after getting home from work is to do some draft cheat sheet /matrix updating.

  28. So, let me get this straight - one side has maybe 5% of them who are legitimately saying defund the police and none of those people are really people of consequence for that side and then on the other side we have basically every leader of that side come out and blatantly lie and claim Biden and most Democrats are for defunding the police. And the first side is the one that needs to heal and move forward? It's real easy for me to answer this one as I'm not part of either side but it's pretty obvious to me one group is consistently full of it and consistently willing to do or say anything to

  30. I've never believed that the 2016 election process was flawed. There was widespread Russian interference through hacking and disinformation, but the vote counting process itself, comprised of 50 separate and unique processes, worked just fine. It explains why Hillary conceded so quickly despite running away with the popular vote. For four years now, Trump has been the only one openly challenging the vote counting process through his bluster, false innuendo, and lies. His legal strategy now appears to be focused on encouraging individual electors to break from their sworn obligation

  31. I know I've posted on this topic a number of times in the past, and I don't want to derail the student loan debate, but I think we need to reform the way we handle K-12 education. Our emphasis is way too heavy-handed on standardized test scores and college prep. Those that are not college bound are left with almost no place to go and graduate high school with no real employable skills. I don't know where the cutoff should be, but I think those that are college bound continue on a similar trajectory to what we have now. Those with poor grades, or those who would prefer a vocational job woul

  32. The quote is that he has "not seen fraud on a scale that could have effected a different outcome in the election." (WaPo quoted him as saying "affected," but that seems wrong.) The qualifier is too hefty for my tastes. He could be more categorical. Not only is there no fraud that could have changed the outcome of the election, but there's no anomalous fraud or other irregularities, period. Right? But with Bill Bar, we'll take what we can get.

RB Obvious adds - Ekeler, Mostert, Gallman Latavius Murray - In leagues where I own both Kamara and Murray, I'm actually debating who is the better play with Hill under center. That might be a bit of an overreaction, but the numbers don't lie. With Hill starting the past two weeks, Murray has not only outcarred Kamara (31 to 24), he's got just as many targets in the passing game (3 each). This is a concerning trend, to say the least, for Kamara owners. That said, this is not the time of ye

At the end of the first week I sent her some flowers, and on Saturday I invited her to hit some bars with my buddy and me. It was a lot of drinks and shots. By the time we got to the third bar I leaned down and gave her a kiss - accidentally igniting the two-week-old brush fire she had smoldering in her pants. That little corporate drug pusher jumped into my lap in round one and didn't stop making out until the final bell sounded.
