  1. Warning. Not for the squeamish or faint of heart I was diagnosed with squamous cell in the cheek and jaw in January. Prognosis was +/- 2 years. After a lot of research, #####ing, crying, being pissed at the world for screwing me over, and generally feeling rather hopeless, I opted for the recommendation of surgery. I chose what turned out to be a very VERY excellent Dr at the University of Penn. Surgery was scheduled for 3/31. At 5AM I was wheeled into the OR. After putting the sleepy stuff in my IV, I was asked to count down from a hundred. I might have made it to 97. When I

  2. EBS QS BLDP These are the most speculative positions in my portfolio. So don’t fret with the gyrations. All are long term plays for me. I am doing some heavy research on another emerging sector and will eventually let you guys know what I am doing in the space of "Crisper" Bio Technology. Basically there are 6 big players here. So I am doing my due diligence on all of them. My plan is to create a 6 position ETF per say and weight them accordingly based on my conviction in each. Stay tuned.

I don’t think I would be able to render quality judging in the remaining decades so I’m going to bow out. Thanks for inviting me @Yo Mama and always great spending time with old friends @Doug B @higgins @Ilov80s @Jayrod @Mister CIA @timschochet @wikkidpissah (no offense to the folks who weren’t doing TimDrafts in the oughts.) Happy Easter and see ya on The Pool.

  6. I went to see the Specialist. Turns out that the mass was the same thing I was diagnosed with back in 2014. It is called a Warthin tumor I have more than one now. These are almost never malignant. The only treatment is to either monitor closely or remove the masses. The surgeon said that he would rather monitor and if gets huge again try antibiotics. Surgery is last option he wants to try because it involves removing salivary glans. So pretty good news. I'm really kind of aggravated with the first ENT Docs because they were the ones who diagnosed this years ago. I mean they left me twisti

  9. Thanks for asking. Temps will be in the low 40s but it will be windy —13-15 mph. That will hurt my time but I think I’ll be good for under 6:00 still. But who knows for sure. I’ve run this race twice before in 2013 and 2017 as a tuneup for spring marathons. I set PRs both times. Early spring temps and a relatively flat course really help. It’s a joint 5K/10K with the 10K basically being two loops. Race starts in waves due to COVID but I will start in the “elite” 10K wave. “Elite” is kind of funny since it’s so small — max of 300 total and likely less than 100 for the 10K. Howeve

  10. Purdue Engineering for my oldest daughter as well. We visited last Saturday and had a great time. My only hesitation is not really knowing how restrictive college life will be this Fall. Tough to pay that kind of money for a watered down experience IMO. My daughter is also a musician and is trying out for several of their bands, including marching. So hoping things are better in the Fall and she can participate in those, especially after no marching band her senior year after finally making head drum major. Just crushing after all the work and time she put into that. But Purdue is great.

  14. I will preface this with "I am not trying to be snarky in any way (with text you can’t hear my tone)" When I say noise.....I mean that. BA had all kinds of noise back in March 2020 The stock was behaving like no one will ever buy a plane from them again and they will go under. I pounded the table about buying in the low 100’s even screaming about it when it was around 100 a share at one brief moment. Fast forward to today. There was a ton of noise. Legit concerns.....just like now on EBS. But when I have conviction.....I make the big boy decisions to buy when people

  16. The real message that needs to be pushed is this plan will benefit middle America by improving our roads, bridges, drinking water, etc. and create millions of blue and white collar jobs. And no family making under $400,000 will see a tax increase. Trying to make us feel bad for families making close a half million a year to pay for it is a GOP strategy because that's who they cater to. Typically the GOP would include cuts to Social Security as part of the plan to avoid corporate tax increases. This seems like a plan to benefit the other 98%.

He can either be the richest man in the world, the most popular man in the world, or the wisest man in the world. The man says “We all know that money does not bring happiness, and that popularity just makes you a slave to the whims of others, but wisdom is everlasting. I want to be the wisest man in the world.” The Genie goes “poof” and suddenly the man’s face assumes a serene expression. He sits down, rubbing hi

  22. Here is the only thing we know about this stock/thread. The price will go back up again, we will all have a chance to eject for gains, none of us will do so, 30% of you will then sell the morning after bad news at the worst possible price, bassnbrew will continue to trade for 3 cent gains while pulled over on the side of the road to do so, and eventually the FDA will approve it for the 8% of the population dying over age 85 that it works for. The stock will go down 27% the next day.

  24. Quarterly Update: Jan - 159 Feb - 160 Mar - 159 Total - 478 Well, I guess I am consistent . March included a full week off post surgery - had I been able to run, I would be on pace for the 2,000 club. I didn't go into this year thinking of doing that, but here, we are. If I go all in on the marathon training (which I am now heavily leaning towards), I should be able to get to the prestigious club.

  30. Man, just take some time and read the data and statistics on income in the United States. You are so far from reality with the numbers you are throwing around that it's making any serious conversation or debate impossible. By your assertion that 200K is the start of middle class, you are saying that only roughly 10% of the population is middle class or above. Your claim that ~$20/hr is working poor, would mean that families w/ incomes around 80k are working poor. Do you realize that the median household income in the US is around 70k? Regardless, in talking specifically abou

  33. I mean, my wife and I make solid "middle class money" - AKA 150K'ish household income We don't dry clean. Bought a van for 10K and got a hand me down Camry. Our mortgage is 2K. Our phones are a couple years old. We don't skimp on groceries or vacations though. When you can buy a new Accord and have a 4K mortgage and buy frappucinos everyday and get your shirt pressed and drycleaned and can take a few vacations every year and buy new iphones every year, etc, etc.... That is the American description of wealthy. You aren't middle class. You choose to spend spend spend and have more
