  1. Wanted to say thanks for the great discussion. Every year, people message me about how the boards are dying and they'll soon be gone or something else. And every year I'm impressed by the quality and quantity of discussion. I'm not sure many "dying" boards have topics fly off the first page as quickly as they do here. Thanks for being here. Rock on.

  2. My god in this world, Willie Mays, is 90 years old today. I will celebrate this, not with some ol' man nostalgia tour, but by telling you what having #24 as my deity has taught me. THE WORLD IS SOME BULL#### I knew the above as soon and surely in my life as that kisses are sweet and milk builds strong bones, simply because the Greatest Person in the World was a black man from Alabama who could not drink water........frikkin water.......wherever water was because some bald-faced bohunks took fulfilment out of degrading generation after generation of a society of men, women and childre

  4. I want everyone to also see what happened to Apple and Amazon. They reported insanely great quarters. Ridiculous actually. And.......? Nothing. Now imagine if they came in under expectations in this frothy market. 10-12% easy drop....easy, maybe more. This company came in a penny under expectations (6 cents loss vs 5 cents) and sells off 20%. Why? New technology, new frontier type technology and far smaller than the mega giant tech of AMZN and AAPL. I remember when AMZN was volatile as all hell......same with AAPL. These are the growing pains of disruptive technology st

  5. This is a great call. Hydrogen Fuel Cells will dominate Ships, Trucking, Rail.....no question in their minds. Of course this is the CEO speaking but the vision is very clear for them and they are seeing orders accelerating in 2023 and beyond. I agree. Fuel Cells are the future. Don’t be surprised to see this stock in the mid 30’s by year end with all the announcements that will happen over the course of this year. Demand is starting to pent up as countries and companies are moving to zero carbon by 2030. This is the class of the fuel cell sector IMO. The IP they have is second

  6. Great Western Half Marathon This race is an out and back course on a trail that was converted from an old defunct railroad line. The trail is about half asphalt and half crushed, smooth limestone. So a race technically on a trail but not a “trail race” since it is as easy to run on as road. Last night I mentioned a goal of 1:20 ish (yes, I know, I’m supposed to write 80:00). To expand on that, I guess my goal was 79:50. Tri-man pointed out that way down on the bottom of the website to the race, they list course records by age group. The record for the 50-54 age group was 79:51

  7. So I was conducting a job interview today. I flat out asked if they had been able to schedule their vaccine. The response was that they weren't because they didn't want to alter their DNA. I was left speechless and after an uncomfortable pause they asked if the vaccine was a requirement. I said No out loud, but said to myself not thinking the vaccine will alter your DNA is a requirement.

  8. The summer doldrums are hitting and expect a heavily sideways to downward trend in the market for a little while. This is why were were selling covered calls last week aggressively. No worries.....the effects of the global pandemic are hitting. Supply chains are really stressed, employment issues in travel and leisure as well as restaurants.....things will be bumpy for a little bit here. Just stay invested.....let your dividends compound.....keep plowing into your 401K’s and get back to normalcy.....I can’t wait to get back into my office sometime in June and my kid getting b

  9. I'm glad you bring this up. We've had a few folks gripe but this thing called life gets in the way many times, JB. I thought a couple instances I was done but I have enjoyed this forum thru several horrible ordeals, the latest being the pandemic and you have allowed us to function and feel like human beings. You take a lot of heat at times but let me thank you for so many folks and I have no doubt many feel similar. I'm sure the pandemic, DD parting ways, it hasn't been easy for any of us/you but I thank you for keeping the lights on here and allowing some free thought to flow. There's a bigge

  11. Again.......LONG. Potential 10 bagger. This quarter was fully expected due to the pandemic. Sitting on the earnings call at today 11AM eastern and everything looks fundamentally sound with the business (I read the entire earnings report and while it looks ugly I am highly confident they are going in the right direction and have the best tech in the space) They are poised for incredible growth over the next 5 years. This is a speed bump and part of investing in a new technology. I have said it a lot.....if your looking to simply trade it....good luck. If your looking to invest....sta

  13. howdy, all 🤠 i know MoCS spent a majority of his time on these boards interacting with a great deal of those of you who usually populate these music threads (movies, as well). today is Kentucky Derby Day, and he sure did love all the pageantry of this first Saturday in May ... he lived a hop away from Churchill Downs, told me he could see the starting gate from his roof. "My Old Kentucky Home" is played during the post parade prior to the Derby being run - it's one of the most beautifully melancholic tunes one could hear - and when played in that setting, well ... it defini

  20. It's been about two months since my marathon, and my first day of a 12-week program started today. I’m not sure if some of you have seen my runs on Strava lately, but I'm going through an unexplainable stretch right now. I am getting extremely fit for some unknown reason. I have been thinking about the reason why this is happening, and I've come up with two possible answers. Number one is, I'm just continuing the benefits I saw from my last program and marathon. I haven't done anything different. I have started some mild lifting but nothing else has changed. Diet is the same, probably wo

  21. Here's an attempt to be somewhat thorough... *veterans only, rookie landing spots belong in another thread WINNERS Mike Davis - I view this as the headliner upset victory. Finally, ATL adds a nice UDFA in Hawkins, mercifully allows me to keep Ollison & Cordarrelle off this list. Myles Gaskin - The other headliner upset victory. Ahmed and Malcolm Brown share in the spoils. Edmonds & Conner - (also Eno Benjamin & J. Ward if you want to go deep) Less of a surprise. The Conner signing along with a shortage of picks signaled that they might be willing

  22. Really solid run today, 10 miles starting at 8:00 for the first one and working my way down to 6:51/6:34/6:22 for the last three. More importantly, the knee felt not only pain-free, but also totally normal. I drove an hour yesterday to see an awesome new massage therapist, and I suspect that had something to do with today's performance. Granted, the last few miles were a nice, gradual downhill, but it legit felt almost effortless until the last half-mile or so. Monday will mark the start of a focused 12-week training block for J&J. I feel like I'm probably in 3:05-3:07 shape right

And we just received his acceptance into Honors College program which means..... my son will be in New Zealand for 5 months starting in January. New Zealand. I guess I better do the good dad thing and make sure he has seen the Hobbit movies.

  28. Had to dig into the wayback machine to find this post. Mom and aunts/uncles got to have a zoom meeting with the parole board again yesterday. Dude is now 83. Has his normal prison duties (dishes, laundry, etc) but has never shown any remorse or initiative to better himself. He'll have his say in a few weeks, but it sounds like another 5 years based on initial impressions.

  31. LOSERS James Robinson (& Hyde) - The headliner. Hopefully Robinson was found money and not someone you paid a ransom for. He's still going to be relevant. Finding a fantasy RB3 off the waiver wire is still a huge get, especially with a year of RB1 production in the bag. But yes, RB1 --> RB3 is going to take the cake. Marq Brown / Watkins - (Duvernay & Boykin deep) - An offense that doesn't pass is now littered with WR talent. Melvin Gordon / Boone / Royce Freeman - I thought there was a fair chance the Broncos might hold off this year. Gordon as a volume

  41. Round 341 - Geology 101 The Ramones - Rock N' Roll High School @Eephus made us watch this during one of our family nights and I've been a Ramones fan ever since Round 341 - Geology 101 (BONUS) Shop Boyz - Party Like A Rockstar I still remember hearing this at a pep rally my freshman year of high school. The teacher who approved the songs didn't listen to it in its entirety, and the nun running the sound system almost had a heart attack (sorry Sister Francis)!

  43. This is word games. If you come here without documentation, you have entered here illegally. You are thereby an illegal immigrant. By saying “don’t say it,” you’re trying to pretend it’s something it isn’t. “They’re just undocumented.” Well, yes, and thereby they are here illegally. Don’t want them being called illegal? Make them come legally. I support legal immigration. That’s what we should be advocating for. Not your word games.

  46. At some point soon, Kwity Paye will be picked. I saw a video of him and his family earlier today ...wow. Mom was able to get out of Liberia at age 12 to avoid violent ethnic conflict. She saw her father's hut on fire (and knew those running to escape were being shot). She never saw him again. In the states, she worked two or three jobs to raise her boys. Kwity was tremendously focused by the time he entered high school. Great guy ...great story.
