  5. I haven't posted in this thread in a very long time, but I just had a funny conversation with my wife. Mrs. Karamazov volunteers for an organization that encourages young girls (like elementary and middle school) to run. They practice a couple of times a week, and today was their end-of-program 5K. Mrs. Karamazov has some knee issues and she wears a specially-built brace when she runs. Anyway, a group of girls was lagging behind her a little bit, and one of them shouted out as encouragement to the others "Hey look that lady's wearing a knee brace -- we can't lose to her!" She was all

I just ran into him. Groucho: Did you hurt him? Chico: How do you know it was Chevalier? Zeppo: I got his passport. Right there. Groucho: Now, he can't get off the boat. Chico: [Pointing to Harpo] Hey, he looks like Chevalier. I can look like Chevalier. Groucho: I certainly look like Chevalier. Zeppo: But, that's not enough. You gotta sing one of Chevalier's song

  15. a poker room i was dealing at was right next to a racebook. while on a break, i noticed the last race of the day @ Gulfstream Park was on turf - my old specialty - so i went over to a friend in the racebook and looked it over on his Form. there was a claimer running for the first time on grass who was from a very obscure part of the Northern Dancer - greatest turf sire, if not allround, of all time - bloodline. saw him in the post parade and he had the Dancer look - dark bay, enormous rump, high belly - so i didnt let the huge moveup in class scare me, or the fact that he was 99-1 on the tote.

They were another Stax house band along with Booker T. & the M.G.s and the Mar-Keys although there was a lot of crossover within the groups. This song was written by Booker T. Jones and Steve Cropper and Booker plays the harmonica lead to get everyone in the mood for Harmonica Sunday.

  24. I love the reason for the edit. I had what seemed like a COVID regression today. Or perhaps I was hungover. Who's to say? In any case, I could only eke out a 20-minute yoga session, but I'm proud of myself for doing anything at all. Tomorrow I hope to make up for it with an hour-and-a-half, from three sessions I'm eyeing to do. Still trying to catch up on her May calendar after missing four days in a row from real COVID. Yesterday one of the ones I did was "Yoga for Nurses," and I appreciated how often she told me that she loved how much I do to help people.

  32. Jacksonville's head coaching vacancy, after last year was over, was repeatedly listed by football followers, fantasy followers, just about everyone as the most desirable vacant head coaching job to have because of draft capital and salary cap. This assumes owners and locations constant of course, but there was no more marquee job to have than landing in Jacksonville with Lawrence, a bevy of picks, and being way under the salary cap. It seems, in addition to the hires made last year like Saleh and Campbell, that there would have been others -- including coordinators like Eric Bienemy-- tha

  33. There was no ugliness in my post. The ugliness is the politization of the event, the demonization of people, the fake outrage. There was no damage or threat to our democracy. The threat to democracy is this effort to kill free speech.

  34. I would be. Sorry, you pose a security risk to the Presidential chain of succession, you get put down. If BLM protesters were breaking into the White House to get at President Trump chanting threats about hanging him, I would fully expect a bunch of people to be shot. And I wouldnโ€™t question it one bit.

  36. Sigh. There is such ugliness in your posts. Yes, a bunch of riots that occurred in multiple cities over a course of several months caused way, way more property damage than the crimes on January 6th. So in terms of property damage they are, in the aggregate, more significant. In terms of violence and deaths, I would presume they are also, in the aggregate, more significant. In terms of our Democratic process, however, January 6th is the more significant event.

  37. Moderna shot #2 yesterday. Today fever, chills, headache, body ache, fatigue. Happy though. Going to lay low for a couple more weeks and then it's go crazy time. Can't imagine not getting vaccinated when all you have to do is walk into a grocery store or pharmacy and get it for free. Maybe if they put video on TV of the terrible death that so many experienced it would sway the holdouts to get the shots. We know of a guy who can't walk anymore without getting winded and fatigued, and it's likely permanent. Virtually bedridden at 45. Had no issues. Can try to get lucky for the next few years or

  40. Appreciate the thoughts and messages. As I said, I've been scaling back my involvement in FF over the past few years, but I do think I'll rise to the challenge and put out some full public rankings in the next week or two. I have a pretty good idea of what I think at RB/WR/TE already. I just need to dive into the QBs because I've done no work there. I'll save full comments for a later time, but I have Najee, Waddle, and Pitts as the top guys at their positions. They would all be top 3-4 on my board in most formats. Probably fading Etienne at his ADP, as I think he's more of a sprinter and

  42. BF is very kind. At the 2013 Super Bowl cornhole I was going around tree-fitty, so some folks have an image of me that is 80 pounds off. Of course, it's not a straight line, nor a particularly steep one. I spent considerable time in the 320s. The Ideal Protein program got me from 332 to 311, but cost a fortune. There have been a lot of fits and starts, but the biggest progress has come since I became more accountable in here. I lost 28 pounds in 2020. This year is only eight pounds so far; plateaus are real. But this is my lifestyle now. I'm not on a diet, I just eat very few carbs e

  47. 1900.19 - Enrico Caruso - E lucevan le stelle (Bonus 1900s) Closing out the channel with the first superstar of the record business. Caruso's powerful voice projected well from the technology of the era. He sold millions of records and helped to sell a lot of phonographs for Victor. Caruso recorded "E lucevan le stelle" ("and the stars were shining") four times. I think this version dates from 1904, four years after the song premiered in Puccini's Tosca.
