  1. I searched for the Dog thread, but of course, just ended up wasting 15 mins. Was going to share, and brag a bit, how my 1yr old Dog is quickly becoming a little TikTok celebrity. 75K new followers over the past 15 days, with fan pages and “dog cults” created by the youngins on the app. TikTik contacted and asked me to be an official “content creator” and now I get paid to create vids and try to increase engagement. Small potatoes now, but if keep growing at this rate, who knows. Right now I only make around $6 per day with present status, but whatever...I’ll take an extra $200

  2. Song is from 1980, the release date of the album was 2/12/81. I can't find that particular concert from Montreal, it could from '81. They were playing Tom Sawyer and Limelight in September of '80 though. One thing I found interesting is Red Barchetta and YYZ were played for the first time at my first concert. Moving Pictures was released that week. Here is the setlist - https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/rush/1981/wings-stadium-kalamazoo-mi-4bd1ebb6.html 2112 Part I: Overture 2112 Part II: The Temples of Syrinx Freewill Limelight Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres Part I

  3. 2.03 Kevin Garnett, PF, 00s I think Trying reallllly hard not to take any 10s guys, as that's where most of my knowledge is. KG is one of, if not the, the fiercest competitors and best defensive players of all time. Maybe one of the most underrated guys of all-time too by some, just landed in an awful situation in Minnesota for a majority of his career. Even though I don't like the Celtics, was happy to see him win one, he deserved it. Honestly think if him and Duncan had been put in opposite situations to start their careers you'd be seeing Garnett over Duncan in the all-time ranks, t

  4. 49. Rush “Red Barchetta” (from Moving Pictures) https://youtu.be/PjjNvjURS-s The link is to a live version from back in the day (it says 1980 but the song is from 1981). As I’ve written in the past I’ve never been much of a progressive rock fan (or Rush fan) beyond the most accessible hits which I usually like. I was aware of “Red Barchetta” because it’s so highly regarded by Rush fans, but I’ve never bothered to listen to it beyond the first try- it wasn’t “accessible” enough for me. Then when I started researching this list I decided I owed the song a more serious listening- I’

  6. Well, 1 AM, seems as good a time as any for a confessional. I like the Foo Fighters, I think they stand beside The Killers for best rock singles band of this era. And I've seen The Killers live many times, so Foo Fighters (thanks to the death of David Bowie and others) might be my #1 need to see live before I (or more likely, they) die band. I'm in so deep, I will rep a 2020 song from them 228.NV - Shame, Shame - Foo Fighters - Dave, Jack, etc...

  7. 228.8 or 12 - The Kills - Future Starts Slow (Jack & Dave Show) Just in case it wasn't clear that this channel covers one degree of separation from Grohl and White. The Kills' Alison Mossheart was part of The Dead Weather with White.

  8. Not as many participants this year but my blood work was best ever. So I got that going for me. Probably because I didn't substitute booze for teh weed and gorge which has happened in years past. Of course I didn't get much done either like I usually do because of the arctic freeze. That was cool though, hung with Mrs. SLB watched Wandvision and stuff. Until next year.

  12. Every single day when I get home from work my daughter races to the door to greet me (savoring it as long as I can!). Before I can even get the door shut and my keys on the hook, usually both hands full of something, she blurts out whatever is the most exciting thing that's happened to her that particular day. Yesterday: Her: "Daddy guess what! Chris (cousin) came over this afternoon to play with me and we rode bikes out front!" Me: "That's awesome sweetie, I bet ya'll had fun!" Her: "And Daddy, Chris said the F word!" Me (getting slightly concerned, as he's 8 and she's 5): "

  13. It wasn't being on the Spurs that held Robinson back -- it was his lost 1996-97 season with back ailments and a broken foot. Before those injuries, he already was a steady 25+ ppg game scorer. Robinson's lost season in San Antonio enabled the team to get the lottery pick that would eventually turn into Tim Duncan. The rest was history.

  24. Seriously. I laughed out loud at the wife of a high school acquaintance and her friends coming back to life post-1/6 to this. Even went back a second time and laughed again. This is such a strange collection of people. (rock doesn't belong in this category, he's strange for other reasons. 😉)

  31. He is. NP is the type of guy who would tell all the shareholders that he is in discussions with the Mexican FDA about holding trials in Mexico. And that's because he sent them an email and got some form letter or 'out of office' reply back. He deals in half truths and deception. I really dislike him. But he may have hit the lottery with LL. I think most have gone this far because of one person. Bruce Petterson comes off as extremely intelligent, confident, and an expert at what he does.

  33. I think it kinda depends on your expectations. I dont think anyone expects him to be a starter. But in the right game, I could see a scenario where he makes a difference. He's a mountain of a man and if we're playing a South American team that is really packing it in and conceding crosses, he could cause some havoc and help manufacture a goal. He's 20 and scoring goals in a decent European league despite only being there for a few weeks. I'll take it. edit: CENTRAL American, not South American

  34. 2.02 Karl Malone, PF, 90s First, Malone is a total turd of a human and I have no respect for the dude, but this is all for pretendsies. Malone was very arguably the second best player in the 90s, making First Team All-NBA for every year of the decade, plus a couple MVPS, and averaged 27.2 points, 10.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists for the decade while missing a total of three games over those 10 seasons. Probably not an all-time defender, but certainly a plus (4 All-Defense teams). He is 2nd all time in points, 3rd in rebounds, 12th in steals. Baylor and M Malone would have both been my pick

  36. The best I can say is that he did his job. Chelsea were not attacking much in the last 30 minutes, so he was pressing the LFC back line and looking to counter, but there wasn't much there. He had a couple clever passes - a flick to Werner that could have been a beautiful play - but also lost possession a couple times and failed to handle a difficult pass once. It seems to me his movement and instincts are not great when he's asked to defend more than attack in this formation. I think he probably gave the manager exactly what was asked - fresh legs to see the game out. Its not what we want

  39. My 25 year old just started a new, full time job this week. It pays $23/hr. to start, which, for a kid with little experience coming off a 10 month pandemic layoff, is a pretty good gig. He gets home from his FIRST DAY of work and proclaims "I think I'm being underpaid. I'll going to ask for a raise soon."

  40. Going thru this with my mom now. My dad passed in 2005 at 76. He was stubborn and had slipped on the ice and fell against the open tailgate of his truck. He's old german farmer, you don't go to the dr unless you cut off a limb...anyhow he had internal bleeding that went undetected and died in his sleep. A blessing as we look back...Anyhow mom was 10 years younger than him. She's lived a good life, many times I asked her if there was anything she wanted to see or do and she would always say no :(. I have 2 sisters and a brother, we all have decent jobs and don't need anyone's money, so me
