I grew up in Alaska, and up there, we tend to adopt the Seattle teams as our own - so it's mostly Seahawks fans for football, and Mariners fans for baseball (although football and especially basketball are MUCH bigger than baseball up there). Strangely, though, Alaskans never really adopted the...
Normally, I'm a proponent of "don't bench your studs" as well - but I'm not touching Grant with a 10-foot pole this season; I think he's got "bust" written all over him. Even if I DID have Grant on my roster, I'd agree with you - I'd be cautious about starting him in Week 1. Odds are, you...
Nice thread; I'll take a crack at playing Carnac the Magnificient:
Who will be this year's version of:
Braylon Edwards/Brandon Marshall (young WR who takes a massive step forward, realizes his potential. and lives up to the hype) ?
It won't be a WR at all - it'll be a TE: Vernon Davis
Jamal...
Just ran another big update on this. The data is pretty solid now; I'll probably only update it once or twice more, as there shouldn't be much more in the way of major changes. Guys may move around by a spot or two (especially in the 6th round), but the list should give us the basic picture now...
Yup, I was called a cheater last year just after Week 4. One owner was desperate, having gone 0-4, and I offered him Brett Favre and Ronnie Brown (both of whom had been stellar early in the season) for Drew Brees and Larry Johnson (both of whom were slumping horribly at this time). I fully...
Thanks - it's been a lot of work! Now that the first drafts are completing, the mathmatical abberations will quickly start falling into line, as you can see in the last update.
While I don't necessarily agree with it, from what I've seen so far, it's been Forte. In fact, sometimes Forte even knocks out Mendenhall for the #3 spot, depending on how badly teams need an immediate starter.
My thoughts on the stats so far:
- The Tim Hightower thing is a total fluke; he'll drop out of the top 2 rounds very shortly as more data comes in. Don't let it throw you.
- The Ryan Torain thing, however, isn't as much of a fluke - this guy's ADP is varying wildly. I've seen him go anywhere...
Figured I should give this its own thread, rather than letting it get buried in the dynasty rookie draft thread. I'd been keeping an eye on all the different Zealots rookie drafts as they run, and updating my own lists accordingly, so I thought I might as well share the data as it comes in! It's...
A few thoughts on those first 12 picks at this point:
- People are high on Forte because of opportunity, but I believe they may be undervaluing Chris Johnson just a bit; his situation is not as bad as it may look at the outset. Forte will be given a chance in training camp to beat out Benson...
Of course cocaine is the drug of choice for Marcus Thomas... he's a NOSE tackle! Ba-dum-bum-bum!
...I am so very, very sorry... that was terrible...
The potentially greatest QB of all time is sitting in prison right now, wearing an orange jumpsuit and answering to the nickname "Pound Puppy". :stirspot:
j/k - I think Favre is arguably in the top 5 range, but I don't know about #1... Now, QB with the #1 fan following - that's a different...
I think people tend to underrate the importance of situation at the RB position (they also tend to read too much into the Combine, but that's another issue). 2 years ago, people in my draft thought I was insane for passing up DeAngelo Williams to grab Joseph Addai... I'm certainly not...
