Thanks for doing this kupcho I looked forward to it every morning. You get a 9.5/10, a slight deduction for the Catcher in the Rye dig. If the font viewing snafu was on purpose so you could have a laugh, than 10/10. I might be too impressionable but everyone's write-ups made their books seem...

I remember all the high school books My favorite book from high school. Read it in grade 10, and like most books we were shown the movie afterwards.

Read Catcher in high school and liked it. When discussing it a girl in my class argued with the teacher that Phoebe was pronounced Pho bee.

Whatcha readin now? (book, books, reading, read)

Kafka on the Shore was a krista4 submission. An odd 15 year old decides to runaway. He's only fleeing his dad as his mom and sister abandoned him when he was younger. His plan is to just get away and not be found. He leaves and ends up finding sanctuary in a library. The story also takes us back...

I think it was the book thread that put this on my radar. ATLWCS has a magical feel to it that gave me Guy Gavriel Kay vibes.

I dnf War and peace but I'll try Anna Karenina. A ranking of 18 plus Rory Gilmore loved it, she even mentioned it in her fantastic graduation speech. 11/22/63 is the only King I've read and it was great. I'm looking forward to It.

is this a stand alone? Pelle the Conqueror by Martin Anderson Nexo was a MrsMarco pick. The story consists of four volumes, the first being Boyhood that was published in 1906. It has a great opening, a Danish harbor where work has been paused because of fog. Bells and horns are going off in...

Lonesome Dove is such an experience. A group of characters drive cattle from Texas to Montana. An adventure dealing with all the dangers you'd expect on the frontier. It's character driven which makes this so good. Two retired Texas Rangers Gus and Call are convinced by another former Ranger to...

Some of the characters are very likable but I don't know who would idolize them. It was a brutal time and setting but also interesting.

I only chose one title per series, for A Song of Ice and Fire it had to be A Storm of Swords. The phrase couldn't put the book down gets used a lot, this is one of the times it rang true for me. Things that stood out, the prologue where a ranger blows the horn three times, Chapter 1 where we get...

The Count of Monte Cristo. It made me angry and I enjoyed Edmond's manipulation to get his vengeance. I read the shorter version because at the time I didn't know any better. I would like to read the other version. My summary is simple, especially following kupchos and rocks latest entries...
