I have to say it bugged me a little when I heard he had to be talked back into playing again. I will definitely pay more attention when I hear that about a player now.
Bush 99 - ill stop short of 100. Honestly I see no weakness. So he's not going to be a 350 carry a year bruiser, he'll more than make up for it with his big play ability and top notch receiving skills
Caddy 89 - He's not a prolific receiving back and has some durability issues, but he's one of...
Read that Tye Hill did 41" in the vertical. This helps mitigate his height issue and I think cinches him as the first true CB (not counting jimmy williams or huff) off the board. I would think SD would be thrilled to land him at 19.
Tony Scheffler. Long Frame (6'6") type that is a solid receiver, but has little to offer on the more physical side of the TE game. Good late round flier type.
Greenway is really hurt bad by this time. I saw him as a Derrick Johnson type - not hardnosed, but a playmaker because of his speed. Who cares if he doesnt take on blocks, because he's fast enough to run around them... Well, that comparison is blown out of the water now.
I also thought Murphy was really coming on before his neck injury...
Thomas Davis's hitting may have already ended a career, but I think it was Poopy's mishandling of the kickoff that left Murphy out to dry on probably the last play of his career.
Another disappointing WR comes out of Texas...
With GB doing little to nothing to secure Kampman in FA, the smart money has to be on Williams, although they could use Hawk too. I agree that they have nice young DTs, and while none are Grady-sized, they are in decent shape without him. You can't say that for their DE situation without...
I think you're right on both counts, Im being too heavily influenced by Ware and Merriman being converted last year, so I wasnt counting Lawson or Wimbley as DEs. Lawson could also be groomed to be a Jason Taylor type - although the idea of Lawson and Ware as pinchers on the edge in Dallas is...
Looking over the D-lineman numbers on nfl.com I see a lot more winners than losers:
Winners
Two guys I really liked all week at the Shrine Game, Chris Gocong (Cal Poly) and Rob Ninkovich (Purdue) had great quickness drills. I like both as 3-4 OLB Tweener types. Ninkovich showed relentless...
