I look at fantasy 'points allowed - by position' by teams to break ties in coin-flip starters. Sometimes I also use the Vegas over/under lines to pick the players that are playing games that are expected to score more points.
For example, the Colts allowed many points to RB's last year, but...
You gotta like the 10 targets Hackett got in the first half last week vs. the 49ers. But then you gotta wonder a bit about only being targeted 3 times in the 2nd half, when the Seahawks were down the whole 4th quarter?
Good production with 8 catches for 87 yards with 13 targets (10 targets in the first half).
Was Hackett on the field in the 4th quarter? He didn't get any targets late when the Seahawks were in obvious passing downs.
How about the deep ball? Did he get any deep ball targets?
(edited to...
I wouldn't bench CJ or Housh., but the Colts give up only 21 ppg to WR in my league (ppr). This is the lowest amount in the NFL by 2.75 ppg.
The Colts give up 35.4 ppg to RB's in my league (ppr). This is the 2nd most in the league.
Jones got hurt early in the Cardinals game (week 11). He basically missed 2 games (Cardinals and Dolphins). Detroit is last in the league rushing the ball. I would favor Arlen Harris due to his familiarity with Mike Martz' offense since they were together with St. Louis.
Detroit homer here. I'd go with Arlen Harris over Cason if I was totally in a pinch. In saying that however, neither back will do much, even against Green Bay. Detroit will mostly pass. When Jones was out before this season, Detroit couldn't run the ball at all.
Pinner didn't get any carries in Week 13 because he was inactive vs. the Bears. Probably a numbers thing where the Vikings don't dress 4 halfbacks. In fact before this week he was inactive for Weeks 11, 12, and 13.
That is exactly my point. If in Pinner's first few carries he didn't gain any yards, the Vikings would have tried Fason or Moore. In most of all his carries (especially in the 1st half), he fought for extra yards on every touch. Fason on his few first half touches went down on first contact...
Pinner ran harder than Fason did. He was given the chance and took off with it. The few chances Fason had in the early game, he was tackled rather easily and didn't fight for the extra yards like Pinner did.
Also, don't forget Pinner led the SEC in rushing his last year at Kentucky, before...
What nobody has mentioned here is that the Lions are allowing nearly double the fantasy points allowed to RB's as the Ravens do. In my Fantasy League (PPR for RB's) the Ravens only allow 15.6 ppg to RB's and the Lions allow 28.8 ppg to RB's. That also doesn't take into account the Lions best...
Overall I'm in favor of instant replay, but I don't like it when the referee is the person reviewing a call that he just made on the field. A case of this was in the Lions/49ers game where the referee ruled that Kitna fumbled the ball before hitting the ground on a blind-side corner-blitz. The...
