Good news is that my step father's outpatient test has been moved up to tomorrow morning (Thursday) instead of next Monday. So the delay from the COVID spike was reduced to 72 hours instead of 168.

If you want to pick and choose to look at masks and only masks, go ahead, but leave me out of it. In my opinion the data reflects the results of ALL mitigation efforts, and not just mask wearing. 

Given travel in congested vehicles such as planes and trains is a significant source of spread of communicable disease, I think picking and choosing what to look at is going to result in less reliable conclusions. 

Smokers are vilified in our culture for their decision to smoke, so the comparison of them to people deciding not to get vaccinated just solidifies the argument that anti-vaxers should be vilified too. 

He smoked back in the 60's when he was in his 20's. Says he hasn't smoked in "40 years". He was a truck driver for a long time and the doctor says diesel fumes could be the culprit. 

It just shows that mitigation efforts actually do reduce the spread of communicable diseases.

The 630,000 number isn't based on a normal 18 months either. There were many mitigation efforts during those months. Those mitigation efforts resulted in what I've heard was the mildest flu season (Fall 2020/Winter 2021) we've ever had.
