Maybe because those teams beat up on their divisions and padded their regular season stats against inferior opponents who didn't make the playoffs? Just a thought.
You either have good hands or you don't. Finley doesn't. It doesn't matter if he's young. All that means is he's a young player with good measurables but crappy hands. Not remotely worth tag money.
My point is his drafts are average. Many teams hits on some key picks and have a handful of good players to build around. The Packers will be competitive--right along with a gaggle of other young and talented teams in the NFC. The problem is with you Packer fans and/or apologists who want to...
They were the class of the NFL last year in the regular season? Really? They squeaked into the playoffs and had an impressive run once they got there, yes. This year they continually pulled games out of their behinds because good-weather play of Rodgers masked the horrid (and 32-ranked) defense...
If you want to bet on Rodgers having another year next year like he did this year, be my guest. I find that probability highly unlikely. What was he the year before--28/11? Unless of course you think he's going to break the all-time TD record by the time he's 30. Then you can keep betting on him...
Go Google Thompson's drafts. Collectively they've been very hit and miss. Take away the "great" players you can count on one hand and look at the rest: nothing special. Certainly nothing in the collective drafts to suggest the Packers will be head-and-shoulders above everyone else for the...
Keep in mind going into the playoffs last year the knock on him was that he hadn't proven he could win when it counted. Was last year a fluke--or the years sandwiched around last year the fluke years? You decide.
It's a combination of choke and being overrated. They had the 31st-ranked defense. Get real. They barely crawled into the playoffs last year and had a pretty incredible and improbable run--let's give them that--but this season was a smoke-and-mirrors joke from week 1 from them.
The last 13...
Been saying this for awhile now: The Packers were going into the playoffs starting their 2nd-best qb. And now they're going to let their best qb walk in free agency. They need to pull a Favre and dump Rodgers now and keep Flynn. In a few years, Packer fans will get over it and thank Thompson.
If you watched the game, Matthews late-hit Eli almost every single time he rushed the passer. Don't believe me? Go check it out: ball gone...step 1, step 2, (sometimes) step 3...shot on Eli and follow-through to the turf. Ridiculous. Most honest Packer fans I know even admit the crap the Packers...
