That's the actual reason it dawned on me -- the bell went off, if you will -- that I had done something stupid.

I kinda realized it might be really stupid and then came over here to see the conversation and find out... so that was stupid too.

I dropped Cecil Shorts and my 2nd DST (Green Bay, but Seattle is my #1 and on their bye in Week 4 there are tons of replacement options) and I picked up both. Stupid?

C'mon. Really? Natural disasters move games... that's fine. He blasted his brains out in front of his coach and the GM. The game must go on? Why *must* it?

That doesn't sound like a bad compromise. They'd lose all the ticket revenue. But that's the breaks. Do the NFL TV contracts forbid game cancellation?

So you're saying that if he'd shown up and shot a teammate instead of his girlfriend that they'd still be playing this game?

Why does the game have to played at all? Neither are even close to being playoff teams, and they could simply just be given a tie in the standings/history books. Seriously, why not just cancel this thing?

Thanks all for your replies. In the situation at hand, the player in question was on a 2-8 team playing the commish's team. The commish said the rule invalidated the transaction. (The transaction was to put Devin Gardner in after Denard was announced injured.) Gardner makes the difference and...

It has been pointed out to me I should have clarified. This is college league, but I posted here since I've seen college discussed and this is the only real place I know to post it... The transaction was made this last Saturday at 11:30am. Whether or not the transaction stands determines playoffs.
