I hope it works out that way, and I am assuming that we will see both guys on the field a lot. I would love to know how far down the "possibilities flow chart" this option was for the Bears.
I guess I am in the camp of not loving this pick. I think he looks good and if the Bears like him more than Warren, OK, that's fine. My biggest issue is that part of the opportunity cost here (other than not having a player at a greater position of need) is the impact on Kmet. We already paid...
Please no WTF picks.......Shea Mclellin has forever scarred me. There are a dozen guys I would be happy with, for real. Please no underathletic tweeners from small schools to play a non-featured position in the Bears defense. It would be very tough to ruin this night the way that draft was...
This feels a little bit like convincing an addict that it makes sense to just have ONE drink. I named my son after Walter Payton, and I think running the ball is the soul of the game, so the idea of Jeanty DOES excite me, even though I think the process is wrong. Sigh. Damn. I'm watching the...
Is that the trade being proposed? I like the idea of getting 107 - that cushions the blow from losing 41, but I do still think the process is flawed. Jeanty would have to be unrealistically good to make this make sense. When was the last time a team traded into the top 5 for a runningback?
I'm trying to give the new coach the benefit of the doubt, but, if they trade up for Jeanty, I don't love the process, irrespective of the results. The Bears, and Poles specifically, need to start living the idea of building through the draft. More chances at good players is what they need, not...
Kelvin Banks. I don't love it, but, if they have done their homework, I am OK with. I would almost prefer conerly, even at 10. My biggest hope is that they trade down.
I would rather NOT trade up, but if they can do it for a reasonable price, and they have a clear vision, I would be OK with carter, hunter, or (gulp) jeanty. I don't LIKE it, but I would give Ben Johnson the benefit of the doubt. I saw a mock draft that had us trading back with Cincinnati for...
Based on most of the responses in this thread it seems like enthusiasm for the players likely to be available at pick #10 is pretty mid. There does not seem to be am obvious, slam-dunk pick here. More and more I am hoping for a trade down into the teens or twenties - does anyone object to that...
It is seeming less and less likely. I believe his O/U has shifter from 12.5 to 8.5 or something like that (source - one of the many football podcasts to which I listen). I am OK with them taking him there or waiting to grab best RB available in the 2nd or 3rd rounds.
I would also love it if...
I would take a chance on Hunter if we only had to give up one of the 2nd round picks, but I don't think it is a slam dunk. I can imagine ways that Hunter doesn't translate to the pros, and I think we are at a point to be draft-centric with our approach to roster building. Adding quality...
I am on record being very low on Justin Fields, given his salary, potential as a pocket passer, and the reliance on his running - in my mind I know Fields' ceiling and the cost to see if I am wrong is prohibitive. If, however, I were a team like the Rams, I would happily throw a 5th to the...
The more I think about this draft, the more I would like to trade back to 15-20 and get an extra pick. If we do pick at ten, I am really warming up to the idea of Jeanty - he may not be available, but I think that his selection would mean that Ben Johnson has a specific plan for him. That same...
I really like Rondale Moore, more than Zaccheus, who I also like a lot. I struggle to imagine how they would both be used in 4-5 WR sets, but I guess that's why we hired an offensive mad scientist as our HC. If Ben Johnson is interested in having these short, speedy, shifty YAC Monsters, then so...
I agree with this. Too many good RBs will be available to spend on Walker. As talented as he is, he will be too expensive - and is often injured. Pick a spot in the 2nd or third and grab the best RB for Ben Johnson's system.
